Mine was G1 Megatron, that ugly chrome he had on. I only wish I knew where he is in my storage full of boxes. Wish I had an Optimus as a kid, but never got him. Had Soundwave, Blaster, and Ravage following the Megs toy
spidergrant
08-17-2007, 01:21 AM
hey could the ravage transform into a tape and fit into soundwave or blaster
Syn (Mercenary)
08-17-2007, 08:52 AM
I think so. If he was one of the tapes. I saw some pictures of a Ravage and he folded out from a tape. Not bad, but still third rate. But, I mean, how good can a small trasnformers that unfolds from the form of a cassete really look?
lars573
08-17-2007, 12:31 PM
they should have made a g2 cartoon
They did. It was the a selection of episodes of the G1 show form the first 2 seasons re-edited with fancy CG effects (for the time).

Must've been in Japan only.
lars573
08-18-2007, 02:08 PM
Because it wasn't really a new show. The G2 line never sold all that well, it limped a long for 3 years before Hasbro killed it for Beast Wars. So they didn't re-edit many shows. I think a maximum of 30 episodes from seasons 1 and 2 of G1 were G2ed.

i had the armada prime. i loved him. then a year later or so i got over load which turned into a pair of cannons that went on his back. and than my friend had jet fire so i would come to his house and we'd combine the 3. and he had some cool ones like blurr, weel jack, star scream, and rid megatron and skybite. but instead i got a ton of minicons. i think i had just about every 3 pack of the minicons except the repaints

my first was a Gobot!
http://www.marz-kreations.com/Nostalgia/Gobots/PIC-Scooter.jpg
and then the second one was a transformer:
http://members.wri.com/jeffb/transformers/CliffjumperVehicle.jpg
I always bought the smaller ones. The biggest Transformer, besides the Constructicons, that I owned was much later, a Headmaster:
http://www.robotmonstertoys.com/images/11023highbrow.jpg
I loved the cartoon and the toys when I was a kid, but didn't start buying the toys til I was an adult. I only had a few Transformers as a kid, and I was happy with that. I was buying all the G.I. Joes instead.

In the U.S. the headmaster[and targetmasters] were in a 3 part story called "The Rebirth".In Japan they had their own series called Transformers:HEAD Masters. But there were some major differences.....the Mastors were not humanoids at all but smaller Transformers who left Seibertron [yes thats how they spelled it in Japan] long ago and setteled on the planet Master. If you would like more info just ask.

SPIDERGRANT:
Yeah, I guess that's Bumblebee...And concerning the Headmasters, I don't remember watching them in the show, but I was thrilled when the figures came out - a head that transforms into a min-robot that sits in the vehicle-form was awesome. I wish I bought more of them. I may seek them out in the future. What soon came after the Headmasters were the PRETENDERS which were downright the downfall of Transformers for me. I thought they were the stupidest looking thing ever. I appreciate them a little bit now that I'm older, but they are still a silly gimmick. I would have prefered if the robot could actually transform into a human figure.

SYN, well, Im just saying that if they had to do the Pretenders the right way, it should have been one transforming figure, instead of sticking a robot inside a human shell, because that defeats the purpose of transformers.

They're Microman toys originally. Meaning they are only "in scale" with Soundwave, Megatron, Perceptor and the other Microman TF's.
Those were the only one in G1..the only minbot that got an update back then was Bumblebee. But over the years since they have used some of those names but the figures dont always look like their G1 name sakes.
Very rarely do the G1 tributes in later lines sport their G1 names. I coud list off half a dozen Energon and Cybertron figures that are G1 tributes that don't have the G1 name on them.

The figures he was refering to were knowen as Micro-change witch was a sub-division or the Micro-Man toyline and were not to scale with Megatron and the others.
As for your other point.....your right. But its a shame that they didnt use the names they should have.

Micro-change and Micro-man have nothing to do with the Micromaster line.Micro-man and its subdivision Micro-change were ,anlonge with the Diaclone line, the original Transformers from Japan. The toy molds were mostly the same but some of the toys were different colors.....for exsample in this line the toy that would become Ironhide was black and the toy that would become Tracks was red. These toys were on the Japanese market since the late 1970's
Micromasters was a sub-group of transformers from Hasbro that was released close to 1990.
