I'm making a cast collage of possible actors as our leading characters. Just something to do to see how accurate I end up being. But as I was scanning thru the threads I see none of Batgirl/Barbara/Oracle. Anybody got good pics of their ideal actress for Barb?

Older-Anne Hathaway
Younger-Ashley Leggat or Alexz Johnson

^ OK cool, I like Chyler Leigh, pretty decent. And Amanda Crew also good choice, she looks more the part. I haven't seen any of these girls act but I'll take your word for it. I agree with you on Maggie Lawson, she looks very similar to Silverstone. Man, she just seemingly fell off the planet that Silverstone didn't she?

Hey Maj, I just saw a pic of another chic that I don't take seriosuly as an actor and don't really know if she can hack the athleticism of the character but her overall face and look would be sweet. I'm talking about Elisha Cuthbert.
I was also thinking Keira Knightley but quickly discarded it after thinking about it a lil' deeper.

Yeah I completely agree, I just think she has the look, imagining her with her red hair that is.

if we were basing on looks, id say have her as supergirl, not batgirl

Honestly despite my hate for Elisha, I don't see the Batgirl look for her. I can see the Supergirl look, but not Batgirl. Barbara has a tomboy look and feel to her, Elisha doesn't have that, which matches her lack of talent.
Agreed :) I hear u Batboy99. Supergirl would be better. Between Robin and Batgirl, these two I just can't think of a definitive actor/actress for. May have to go the unknown route.
Anne Hathaway, not to young, fairly tall, good actress, not really the type of actress you'd associate with this kind of role but that's irrelevant. I would however change the character slightly to be either Gordon's niece or younger cousin. As for what she'd look like, here's a tease....

I don't ever want to see Batgirl on screen. If anything, let's just have Joker go straight to shooting her.

Seeing as James Gordon Jr appears to age from baby to nine year old between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, people are now saying that baby was Barbara.
So you could say all of the actresses suggested are a little too old.

janie briggs as batgirl? lol. might as well have chris evans as nightwing then.
but seriously, chyler isnt a bad choice. but they would have to skip a several years in order to have her play batgirl.

The baby wasn't Barbara. Plus, after Infinite Crisis, Barbara is Gordon's niece. She could easily just not have lived in Gotham.
Then the baby, presumably James Gordon Jr, grows up quickly to become a nine year old Nathan Gamble in TDK :cwink:
I know that in the comics Barbara is the niece, but then Gordon is also a native of Chicago...

Eh, hometowns can change if it doesn't really affect the character.
But what about Nathan Gamble being a lot older than the baby in Begins?

Does she have to be Batgirl at all? It would be less ridiculous having her just get paralyzed instead of drawing comparisons to Batman and Robin.

I'd rather just see a young Barbara Gordon in a future film. I don't actually want to see Batgirl/Oracle. Maybe have some hints that she might go down that path but never show it. Just like I'm up to having a young Dick Grayson (maybe in the last film) but I don't want to see Robin.
Casting? Hmm... Hayden Panettiere maybe? Or Michelle Trachtenberg.

I haven't thought a cast for Babara/Batgirl, some actress that would connect with Gary Oldman's character.

saw her, in that "big lair on campus" (or "full of it"), movie the other day
and was kinda thinking the same thing (though, at 24ish she might be a bit old, but, she plays younger looking pretty good)
oft
also, while watching her, I couldn’t help but, feel she reminded of someone
i think, i figured out who i was thinking of
Robyn Lively (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001477/)(she was in a movie called, "Teen Which" back in the 80's, my sister loved that movie, she watched it all the time, so, i got stuck watching it quite a few times lol)
ok, it was just bothering me tiring to figure out who she looked like (you know what that’s like) so, i wanted to point it out somewhere, once i did
^ Who says Batgirl has to be young, what's wrong with making the character in her early 20's?
Spider-Fan83
09-18-2007, 06:11 AM
^ shes batgirl
I mean, with the movies being set early in batman’s career, if batgirl were to be introduced, (in the next movie, or whenever) she would have to be pretty young
making her an older character, would kinda mess with the character history
Why not just have her as batwoman at that point
but, with that said, if they actually portray her as a 20 something, thats one thing, i was saying that more in terms of not wanting a 20 something playing a teenager

A 35 year old would be Batwoman, I'm pretty sure an early 20 year old can still get away with being called Batgirl. :cwink:
I believe the character can be adapted in the Nolan series if they wanted to, just because she'd be a few years older than her comic book counterpart doesn't mean the history of the character would have to change all that much.
I will agree with the 20 somethings playing 16 year olds too, it never looks convincing :woot:
