View Full Version : Lohan's sentence...

One day in jail and ten days of community service. That's right.
Now remember, this is in light of two DUIs in one year, chasing someone in a car during one of those(that's endangerment), AND possession of cocaine.
And the deputy DA actually says that anybody else would get the same sentence.
Give me a break.

Dude, you or I would be gone for a long time. Zod forbid it was a black male--he'd be so screwed.

Hell, a black man would get 12 minimum.
Lohan getting away with all of that is only because she has money.

Yeah, 83 minutes out of a sentence of 90 hours.
I have to say though, I don't necessarily think these punishments are too light. Young people like Lindsay Lohan can be rehabilitated and straightened out, if they're given real treatment instead of just a week long trip to a fancy summer camp. I don't think she's past the point of no return by any means. And let's be real here... jailtime rarely cures this kind of behavior.
No, the problem here is the glaring double standard. The average person would never get that kind of consideration in court.

I hope she learned her lesson
Wow, to think even Paris Hilton has one up on both Nicole and Lindsay when it comes to receiving punishment.

she also has
# 10 days of community service
# attend 18 months of alcohol education program
# attend a drug program
# stay at Cirque Lodge for rehab for an unspecified amount of time
# 3 years of probation
she's not getting off THAT easily
I for one am glad that she wants to get better

True. And lord knows I don't know the statistics of incarceration as a means of rehabilitation/determent from future criminal actitivity, but Lohan and the rest of these chicks are repeat offenders. Lohan had cocaine on her person when she was arrested and brought into a police station! They need to learn that this s**t won't fly. Even Robert Downey, Jr. did a reasonable amount of time in jail for his drug charges. And he's managed to keep his s**t together since. His career could have ended on several occasions, now he's playing Iron Man! Get your s**t together ladies!

I was reading up on the cocaine thing and apparently Lohan was carrying less than 0.4 of a gram both times, which is not enough for a felony. In CA you have to be busted with more than half a gram. Admittedly, that's not very much (a gram weighs about the same as one paperclip), but she was carrying the coke so she was of course still guilty of possession IMO.
I still say she got off easy compared to what would have happened if it was you or me.

Worst one is pete Dougherty(sp?) in the UK, he gets away with all kinds of drugs and stuff, then ends up an even bigger celeb on the front page of NME even though he hasn't made any music for a long time.
SCUM.

Or perhaps the celebrity-coddling L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca was involved again, like he was with trying to send Paris Hilton home from jail after 2 days.
Baca is a Scientologist, and supposedly he has a history of giving celebrities a pass when they break the law. Probably in the hopes of getting contributions for the Church of Scientology or trying to convert the celebs to Scientologists.

I could see giving her the benefit of the doubt if this was her first time in rehab or if she were going back after a few years, but the third time in less than a year come on... And didn't this latest arrest happen a week after getting out of rehab for the second time? Yeah, she was really trying to work out her problems, going right back to the lifestyle after less than a week. Not that I really care about her, Lindsay, Paris, Nicole Richie and Britney could all get in a 4-way booze and pill fueled car wreck and I wouldn't care. I'd say I'd be happy to be rid of them, but the paprazzi would just start obsessing over a new celebrity by the end of that month anyway, so it wouldn't matter.
