Do you remember in the old days they'd play records backwards and find messages? I was bored on one of these days so I go to youtube and put some 2Pac in and one of the choices was 2Pac, hidden message. So I choose this one to play and listen to. His words of a song are played backwards. In the song that was played backwards, he was talking about how he'd see you later and he is hanging with his mom right now............all kind of stuff. Mind you, there is a urban legend that he's alive in Cuba(which I don't believe for the record). And that's not all. I'm sure you have heard of the Eagles song Hotel California played backwards and how through out the song they are basically saying that Satan will save us all and he's our lord..............but I was listening to JayZ and one of his songs played backwards.............WOW! He was saying "murder, murder, murder Jesus! 666!" Yep! that's his quote. Kind of scary huh? And we wonder why kids are going crazy these days.

Backmasking is anti-music propaganda from the religious right.

I've been tempted to do the "Stairway To Heaven" thing, but I never did. My friend said he did, though, and at one point heard something.

Not all backmasking is satanic, though. Supposedly if you play "Another One Bites The Dust" backwards, you hear "It's fun to smoke marijuana" over and over again. It's not true, though. Madonna's "Justify My Love" supposedly has a satanic message.

I once played City High's "What Would You Do" backward, and it had the exact same message with harsher words. Somewhere in the backward chorus, I swear I heard "she's a whore, nothing more."

I've heard all those backwards, if someone didn't tell you what you're supposed to hear you'd just think it was what it is, nothing.

I played Achy Breaky Heart backwards once. Billy Ray Cyrus told me to grow a mullet.

Yes it was the religious right that really brought it to the forefront.....but what I heard was pretty freaky.......not a big deal, but was kinda freaky.....:word:

I've listened to Stairway to Heaven backwards, in it's entirety.

All I heard was the song being played and sung backwards.

it's all BS...someone tells you, "hey, he says this if you play it backwards!" and that sticks in your head, so when you listen to it, you hear it...nothing but suggestion, there are no real hidden messages in anything, as that would be nearly impossible to do.

Have you heard that Stairway to Heaven song played backwards? or Hotel California played? Those songs are obvious! With the rap songs..............they are basically saying the same thing they are saying normally. :o

If you want to belive something is there then your going to hear it.

It's kind of cool though. But I don't really believe any of these artist put secret messages in there songs.

It's not that they do it on person, but you ever think that maybe there's a force/entity guiding that person that they are unaware of? Like 2Pac, kind of interesting and a BIG coincedance that on his songs, he talks about being alive and hanging with his mom and even he didn't know that he would be dead now. I don't think the Eagles are satanist but...................hotel california is straight creepy! :csad:

Wow.

I can't believe there are still people buying into this.

All I can say is, the album's where there was, or there was supposed backmasking flew off the shelves in the 80's, and many had not sold an album in a decade, yet they hadn't sold anything in years. So intentional, not intentional..........it helped their sells.

Hotel California didn't sell well back in the 80s!!??!? I really didn't know that. It was before my time. :o

For those of you are doubting, it is TO much of a coincedance that those entire songs have the wording at the time that they do. A word here or there, sure. But not an entire song. I hate to keep talking about Hotel California becuase God knows I love that song. But just about the entire song backwards was talking about Satan saving us. I heard that at like 1am and I could barely sleep thinking about it.

Stairway to Heaven's just too scary.

Oh here's to my sweet Satan.
The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Satan.
He will give those with him 666.
There was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad Satan

that's what I'm saying. I can believe a word or 2 placed there "accidently" but an entire verse!? C'mon! I don't think they purposely worship the devil but they could be controlled by him and not know it.

As so many have said, it's all in the power of suggestion.

If someone tells you what you're supposed to hear, then your mind will interpret the sounds in a way to appease what your brain is trying to hear.

sorry to be (kinda) off topic but I don't believe that 2pac is dead. How the hell can he have all these albums and movies come out if he's really dead? No way. No matter how much unreleased crap you may have recorded before you died...I don't buy it.

Ok so topic...does youtube have anything other than rap? Not a fan. I did try to play my lp's backward back in the day, but I guess I wasn't good at it cuase all I did was scratch up my records.

There are some artist who have done it intentionally, albeit as a joke. Though I can't remember what songs atm, I know Pink Floyd has one, as well as Tool(they say something along the lines of "Stay in School, don't do drug, etc..."), and a Weird Al song that pretty much says "Wow, you have way too much time on your hands for finding this."

How does playing it backward work? Wouldn't you just hear the words in reverse?
