Whatever happened to this mofo? Back in the `90s he was 'da man' due to the Fear Street and Goosebumps book series.

I loved Fear Street! The real Fear Street that is! I know there's like a kiddie Fear Street. But, Fear Street, was great cause it was Goosebumps for teens. I highly recommend the book, Wrong Number. Its better than 99.9 % of Goosebump books.

I really dont follow him, but last time I saw anything with this guy was his participation in the Tales from the Crypt documentary about the 1950's comics that's included with the Season 1 DVD release.

Yea, he went off the spotlight when the Harry Potter books were first released and hasn't been back. :csad: I'm sure he's still writing stuff but, I don't know, here's no longer in the spotlight. You barely hear of him anymore. The last time I hear any news on him was in 2000 when Tim Burton was in talks to direct a movie based on one of the Goosebumps.

I guess it's safe to say that his popularity reached it's apex during the early/mid 1990's with the whole Goosebumps/Fear Street books, and subsequent tv show. His role in the Crypt documentary was basically that he took alot of inspiration from the old comics, and reworks it all into a much more gentle level with his line of books. But yeah, there for awhile he was all over the place.

Cartoon Network has gained rights to the show and announced on the Cartoon Network website for The Haunting Hour: Dont Think About It that episodes of Goosebumps are to start airing every night on October 1, 2007 at 8pm.

The Haunted Mask was my favorite goosebump book, but icollected nearly all of them, even the "choose your own adventure" ones.

its been a while but back then i thought the artwork on most of the covers was amazing.

I was so obsessed with the goosebumps books that my mom told me to stop reading them. I think they're in a box somewhere in my basement now.

R.L Stine is a jerk. I remember we were doing something in language arts class back in grade six and we partnered up and we sent a letter to an author and said how much we liked their books, one kid even sent a letter to j.k rowling! About 2 months later, all the letters came back from authors, and Stine NEVER wrote us back, even Rowling sent a letter back, c'mon! :(

Hey, Stine is a busy man!

Exactly. It takes 10 yrs for Rowling to write 7 books. Stine writes 7 books in a month!

He's been writing adult novels every now and again but each and every one of them may as well be written just like his kids novels.

I remember reading somewhere that he is writing 12 more books in one of the series, but can't find it now. 1st new book is due out in April 08.

This guy would have been a legend had he pulled a J.D. Salinger and disappeared into seclusion in the late 90s.

Can't say their worth the read. I read his first one and was beyond bored. His writing retains the childish attributes that the Goosebump books did, but don't mature beyond it.

He is also a good teen writer. His Fear Street series is awesome.

I can't believe that the guy who wrote goosebumps also wrote some adult novels.

Haven't read his books in prolly a decade. I use to love Goosebumps.

After the 90s, his sales broke, and he drank himself poor, downed all the booze and now lives on the streets to never be heard from again.
