Ashley Massaro's Survivor: China journey got off to a rough start when she got sick.
It didn't end up getting much better from there as the 28-year-old World Wrestling Entertainment diva became the second castaway eliminated from Survivor: China during last night's broadcast of the long-running CBS reality competition series.
On Friday, the East Northport, NY-native talked to Reality TV World about what turned out to be useless preparation before leaving for the competition; how she still managed to form an alliance despite being sick; and why that alliance wasn't enough to save her in the end.
Reality TV World: How did you end up being cast for Survivor: China?
Ashley: It was basically a joint decision because I work for WWE. I needed to do some arm-wrenching to go because that meant I was going to be off the air with them for a long time. But it all worked out great and they let me go.
Reality TV World: What was the reaction of some of your fellow wrestlers?
Ashley: Well they didn't know I was going to be on Survivor until I got back (laughing). They were surprised. I got lots of phone calls and everybody was excited. They were like, "How's your ankle going to be?" This and that... asking all these questions. Worried.
Reality TV World: Had you watched a lot of Survivor before going on the show?
Ashley: Yeah, I watched Season 1 of course. I mean everyone and their friend watched Season 1 (laughing). I watched Pearl Islands. That's the one with Jonny Fairplay right?
Reality TV World: Yup.
Ashley: I like that one... a couple of other ones. I definitely brushed up on it before I left.
Reality TV World: That leads well into my next question. How did you prepare yourself both physically and mentally prior to leaving for the competition?
Ashley: Well... I definitely tried to do some training outside. You know what was funny? I went outside and I sat in the rain. I'm not even joking you. Just one day for like 10 minutes to see what it felt like. And I'm like, "This is probably not going to be the case. But I just wanted to feel like every element. It might rain a few times."
I had no idea it was going to be monsooning. That showed me a second perspective. There's nothing in the world that can prepare you as much unless you've actually slept in monsoons for six days. For the entire time. In the rain. You can sit in the rain all you want but you have to sleep overnight in it one night. It's unbelievable. If it's pouring rain, you can't really get a lot done. It really threw a wrench in everybody's plan.
Reality TV World: Did you do anything mentally to prepare yourself for the game?
Ashley: I bought every single survival book under the sun. I'm not even joking. My mom laughed at me when I came home from Barnes & Nobles with 20 books. She goes, "You're never going to finish that."
Some of them were books on China. Some of them were books on how to speak Chinese on a basic level. I was trying to basically go through everything with survival skills. What do you do when you're trying to build a shelter. I kind of wanted to build a lean-to. Fei Long had a lean-to and it worked for them in the beginning because they were a little bit more covered than we were. Our structure was always a mess.
Reality TV World: During your first few days in the competition you said you were really sick. What was wrong and do you think you ever really fully recovered?
Ashley: I think I was in the rain that night. I woke-up with fever, vomiting and chills. I don't know what the heck it was, but it literally just passed right through me. I couldn't stop throwing up.
Once challenge time came I got it together. I was dying. I'm like, "I've got to get through this because it's the most annoying thing. How am I supposed to do anything?" So I'm like, "I've got to get it together. I know I'm going to get through this. So I've got to make sure it happens today and not tomorrow." Because if it goes in two days, I'm afraid I'm going to be more of a target. That would sort of question peoples' opinions about me.
But it only lasted one day. I came back and did the challenge perfectly fine.
Reality TV World: Do you think Steve "Chicken" Morris and Dave Cruser voting for your elimination at Zhan Hu's first Tribal Council was simply because you had been sick and were weak or do you think they viewed you as a threat?
Ashley: That's what I said to [fellow Zhan Hu members Jaime Dugan and Sherea Lloyd]. I said, "You know what? You know why Dave's doing this? Because it's the perfect opportunity for him to get rid of me quickly. He can use this as an excuse." He's threatened by me because he knows I'm an athlete, and he's going to use this -- one day of me getting sick -- to get me out of it. He'd use anything he can to get rid of me quickly.
Reality TV World: Why did you vote for Peih-Gee Law instead of Chicken at your first Tribal Council? You were the only one to vote for her.
Ashley: Jaime and Sherea came-up to me to form an alliance while I was sick, which I thought was awesome. I didn't even care who wanted to have an alliance with me at that point. If I was sick, and they were asking, then they obviously wanted me around.
So I said, "Yeah. Heck yeah." Then I said, "Well we'll start talking about who we want to vote off." Peih-Gee, I think she noticed a little bit that we were palling around a lot, like me and Jaime and Sherea just hanging out non-stop. And Peih-Gee kind of felt like, "Ooh! I wonder if they're making sort of a team." She kind of wanted in. Peih-Gee cries whenever every time we lose a challenge. She cries at a bunch of stuff. Then she's saying she wants to be a leader. I didn't feel like that was leadership skills, but anyway to get back to the beginning, she was not good at challenges. She's small. Not athletic at all. Can't really lift heavy rocks or do work with bamboo or anything. I need manpower to build a structure...
Chicken going first... I understand he's really annoying people, but voting off somebody when you already have a weaker team. We don't even have a structure built. Hey, you want to vote him off next week when our structure's built and we've already used him to build the roof? You know what I mean? Have him do some heavy-lifting and some challenges that require physicality...
I just thought it was a bad choice. And they were like, "No! Come on! Chicken's done this and Chicken's done that! Please, please please!" And I'm like, "No, let's just go." I knew they were going to vote for Chicken, but I was just like, "Honestly?" I wanted them to change their minds. I mean I understand, I'm sick of him too.
Then the next day I'm like, "Hey! This is why. Now do you see where we are?" They're like, "Yeah." Only to find out, once the end of the show came for me, I was in the same boat with Dave.
Reality TV World: You didn't seem to happy when Dave and Peih-Gee nominated themselves for a leadership role. Was that the case?
Ashley: I shook my head because Dave was already the leader and he's sitting there like a moron trying to pretend like, "Well, if I have to be the leader than I will." Are you kidding? From the moment we got out there you started this leadership position.
Reality TV World: So you think Dave was already Zhan Hu's leader before that Tribal Council?
Ashley: Yeah! He's trying to be like, "If you guys really need me to be, I will." Bull crap. You did whatever you wanted... He's working everybody. He's messing with them, and I think that's going to come through in the next episode.
Reality TV World: You and some of the other Zhan Hu tribe members were adamant about eating before Dave's fire pit was completely built. What was the food and water situation like while you were at camp?
Ashley: We were all basically dehydrated. I mean I hadn't eaten anything in six days now. Six days is a long time. [Fellow Zhan Hu member Erik Huffman] was tired. Erik was a work horse... like he's exhausted. Everybody was laying around. You could see what it was like for us on Day 6. Everyone was just standing under that little shelter thing that sometimes protected us from the rain. Everyone just had defeat in their eyes. Everyone just lost a lot of heart.
Reality TV World: Did you guys ever finally eat a hot meal?
Ashley: No, when we had the opportunity to because it actually stopped raining for five minutes. It's sunny out, for the first time we have the potential ability to build a fire. Right now. And we're sitting here building the mega-BBQ pit of the century. You could roast a pig on it.
Reality TV World: Why didn't you, Jaime, or any of the other castaways that wanted to start a fire just pick up the flint and go start a fire? Did Dave have the flint?
Ashley: That's what I said. Dave had the flint, but he didn't want us to use it. As he was trying [to use the flint], he was chunking pieces off of it. We hadn't even started one fire yet and there's only half of the flint left. And he's worried we're not going to have any flint again if we use it all, and he doesn't want anybody else trying it until he's don't building his BBQ. And we're going, "Oh my God..."
Reality TV World: Seeing as how Zhan Hu has gone winless in challenges against Fei Long and you already touched upon this a little bit, but do you think the tribes were divided fairly?
Ashley: I don't think that I was on the weaker tribe. I like my tribe. I like Erik. I like Jaime. I like Sherea. I like [Michael "Frosti" Zernow]. Even Peih-Gee was cool sometimes. She just didn't belong there with us.
I liked my tribe. But I would have rather had [Fei Long tribe member James Clement, a gravedigger who could probably wrestle in the WWE]. I was like, "Oh no! I want James! Give me James!"
Reality TV World: Yeah, that's understandable. Do you think the fact that you're already a celebrity of sorts hurt or helped your chances in the game?
Ashley: I wasn't sure how it was going to play out. I was waiting to see. I was a little worried about it, because I didn't know how they were going to react. I was just going to say nothing if they didn't recognize me. But that didn't happen, they recognized me as soon as we were allowed to talk. I just made it no big deal and we went on talking about other stuff. Roll right through it.
I think when everybody's... There's a lot of things that don't matter when you're not eating, drinking or sleeping. I mean there's so many things that you can't even think about when that's going on. Lots of stiff was just like out of our heads. Pain... You know, you don't see those things.
Reality TV World: What was your tribe's reaction when Jeff revealed Survivor: China's "kidnapping" twist?
Ashley: I was so bummed out because I knew they were going to pick Jaime because they were thinking she's probably the one who will say the most. They were dead wrong. Jaime's smart as a whip.
Reality TV World: So Jaime didn't tell Fei Long anything about Zhan Hu, but when she returned from being "kidnapped" did she air any of their dirty laundry? What did she say?
Ashley: Totally. She told everybody about the other tribe, but she pulled Sherea and I aside and told us about the Hidden Immunity Idol. I was pretty interested in that (laughing).
Reality TV World: Were you surprised at the difficulties Dave had during last night's Immunity Challenge?
Ashley: Are you kidding? That's why he should've eaten the rice and not built a BBQ pit.
Reality TV World: And you think his poor performance in the challenge was a direct result of that?
Ashley: Absolutely. There you go. I don't know? Maybe he even tried to throw the challenge to get rid of me faster. I wouldn't be surprised. It's one or the other, I can't pick.
Reality TV World: You already touched on this a bit but you commented how you thought Dave was going to "shoot himself in the foot." What did you mean by that?
Ashley: He already has. I honestly think that... It was a close call for him whether he realizes it or not. He thinks just because he got our tribe to vote me out that he's safe. Are you kidding?! They were debating whether the vote that they cast should be you. He doesn't realize that. Of course he doesn't because they're not saying that to him.
They were torn. They didn't know what to do and they ended up getting rid of me because I think they were scared to get back to camp without Dave because of his proclamation that he's the only one who can build fire now.
Reality TV World: So you think they fell for what he's been feeding them?
Ashley: Again... He's just being manipulative. I don't think it's going to last much longer. They're not that stupid.
Reality TV World: So last night's Reward Challenge was a physical one. During that second round, there was one point were it looked like Fei Long member Jean-Robert Bellande gave you a pretty rough-looking slam of some kind. How did you like the challenge? It seemed like you were in your element.
Ashley: I was pumped for the challenge. Once I got there I was like, "This is something I can do." Then I was like, "Wait a minute. You're allowed to pull people's clothing off or something?" Not cool. I'll clothesline her, but I'm not going to take my time taking off her top. She won't care.
So I went straight for [Fei Long member Leslie Nease] and dumped her to the ground pretty hard. And then I was like, "Oh. That's a Christian radio show host." I feel terrible (laughing).
I went after Jean-Robert. I was actually holding him back for a couple minutes, which was shocking because he outweighs me by like 200 pounds. For a minute I'm holding him back, and he's not able to push the , and he gets frustrated and he finally catches his footing. He tried to throw me under the water and hold my head down. I'm like [takes a deep breath]... I'm screwed.
[B]Reality TV World: You were voted off in a "unanimous" 6-1 vote. Why did you decide to wait until Tribal Council to discuss the problems you had with Dave? Did you do any campaigning before leaving camp?
Ashley: I did. Of course I did... I told Sherea. I told Erik. I asked Frosti what he was doing. I talked to Jaime a million times. Like I told you, that was what we were talking about. We were like, "Should we vote Dave off or should we vote Ashley off." There was a lot of talk about that.
Reality TV World: Dave said he was confident he wouldn't be going home. Were you confident he'd be eliminated instead of you??
Ashley: I mean Tribal Council had to happen because everybody was so torn. They were crazy to speak freely in-front of Dave. I heard all their gripes about Dave. That's why I'm saying I believe Dave ain't gonna make it much longer because I know what they said. You guys will see...
Reality TV World: You seemed to form a pretty close relationship with Jamie. Why do you think you two hit it off so well?
Ashley: I never was surprised I liked her. She really brightened up the tribe. I liked her. Just being around her, she's funny, she's smart... I'd be friends with her out in real life. I am. Sherea too, I really liked Sherea. Erik's a great guy, I liked him too.
Reality TV World: Is there anyone you would really like to see win?
Ashley: I would like to see Jaime, Erik... even Sherea. I have a feeling [Fei Long member Todd Herzog] is going to do well.
Reality TV World: I think I already know the answer to this, but anybody you don't want to see win?
Ashley: Of course. It's Dave.
Reality TV World: What was the story behind that flood at your camp? Did you build your camp in the low ground? Did you move anything after that?
Ashley: There was like so much flooding. It was really bad.
Reality TV World: Was it still flooded when you left for Tribal Council?
Ashley: Yeah. It lasted forever. It was not going away. We were building trenches trying to drain the water out. Not working.
Reality TV World: Was there anything you expected to see on the broadcasts that CBS didn't show?
Ashley: Yeah, a ton of stuff. But you realize that there's a very short period of time that they have to cram three whole days into. Not a lot of time. I mean there's a lot of stuff that happened.
Reality TV World: Like strategy stuff? You guys having fun?
Ashley: Yeah. It didn't show that me and Sherea knew about Jaime's Immunity Idol [clue]. Thy didn't show a lot of stuff. I understand TV though. Three days, they have to cram it into an hour-long show, everything's not going to be in it. They make executive decisions on what has to be in it.
Reality TV World: So what's next? What are you doing now? Back to the WWE?
Ashley: Absolutely. The WWE is my home. I can't wait to get back and get back in the ring.

Ashley revisits the island

Being cast away from the island location of Survivor: China last night on CBS, WWE Diva Ashley spoke with WWE.com and offered her perception of what was one of the most challenging endeavors she’d ever experienced. See photos of Ashley on Survivor.
“It sucked getting voted out,” admitted the very frank Diva. “But it would for anybody. I have a feeling there are going to be some challenges that I would’ve been really good at.”
Fighting through hunger, thirst, tumultuous rainstorms and harsh climate changes, Ashley described her curtailed tenure in the Zhan Hu tribe.
“We hadn’t eaten, we barely had any water and we hadn’t won any challenges,” she explained. “The challenges were really difficult because we weren’t ever replenishing. There’s no Gatorade at the end of the maze; you have to keep going, and day by day, it was getting harder.”
Enduring monsoons and filling in as the main dish at an everyday mosquito smorgasbord, the SmackDown Diva overcame tremendous physical adversity on the island. Surprisingly, perhaps the greatest obstacle came from within Ashley’s own tribe.
“I was butting heads with the leader of our tribe [Dave] the whole time. He is just a tool,” she openly stated, “a jerk. Honestly, that was the biggest problem. [Dave] was extremely condescending and difficult. He is the most irritating person in the world. I’d love to get him in the ring one day.”
As millions of viewers witnessed on CBS, conflict brewed between Ashley and self-appointed leader Dave, who forced his fellow tribesmen to perform tasks against their better judgment. Ashley confronted Dave on his leadership capabilities and championed her teammates in front of the Tribal Council. Still, the Diva was ultimately voted off Survivor: China and watched as her torch was ceremoniously extinguished.
“We fought as hard as we could,” she added. “I regret that Dave was our leader from the start. Everyone felt that way.”
According to the Diva, she is proudly walking away from Survivor with not just the memories of a life-altering experience, but also invaluable knowledge of survival. And, after competing in wet, dirty and exhaustive conditions on the show, Ashley is anxious to make a return to a more familiar battle ground: WWE.
“I’m coming back [to WWE] and I can’t wait to get in the ring again,” Ashley exclaimed. “I can’t wait to go be a WWE Diva because that’s where I belong.”

“Boston Rob” Mariano knows something about being a survivor – he is an alumnus of Survivor, appearing on the fourth season, Survivor: Marquesas and on Survivor All-Stars. WWE’s own Ashley got some lessons on survival in Survivor: China, which premieres this Thursday, Sept. 20 on CBS. On the eve of the new season of Survivor, Ashley had an opportunity to get some survival tips from Mariano and talk baseball:
Ashley: I am excited to speak to you! Everyone knows you’re “Boston Rob,” the King of Reality TV, and that you met and proposed to your wife Amber on Survivor: All-Stars. Now, I think most people would like to know, how’s married life?
Rob Mariano: Married life is awesome. I’ve been married for almost two-and-a-half years now. It’s funny how fast the time goes by. You know, the first time I was on Survivor, it was almost six years ago, and it’s just been amazing. You know, life kinda got turned upside down, and I ended up working in the entertainment field, which is something that no one would have expected. But it’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve had some outstanding experiences. It’s been a lot of fun traveling around the world, doing different things, and I couldn’t be happier.
Ashley: That’s awesome. Life flies when you’re having fun, I guess. [Laughs]
Mariano: Yeah, it definitely does.
Ashley: Well, the last time we saw you and Amber was on Amazing Race: All-Stars. Since then, what have you guys been up to?
Mariano: Since last spring, I’ve actually been working on a new project; I’m actually going to be hosting a new TV show called Tontine, which posts the largest prize in reality show history. One person is going to walk away with $10 million.
Ashley: Get out of here!
Mariano: Yeah, so we’re definitely setting a new standard with the prize. In addition, it’s going to be held in all seven continents of the world. It’s a 100-day competition, so it’s three times longer than Survivor. And it’s a combination of both physical and mental challenges just like Survivor and Amazing Race. It’s everything you love about your favorite reality TV shows put together in this super reality show. But just like other reality shows have a twist; Tontine also has a twist, which is probably going to blow your mind.
Ashley: Oh?
Mariano: The twist is that the $10 million prize isn’t actually coming from the network. The $10 million prize is actually a collective life savings of all of the 15 contestants.
Ashley: No way…
Mariano: So, for the first time in the history of TV, the contestants are actually going to have something to lose.
Ashley: Oh my god! Wow, they’re really putting their lives on the line!
Mariano: Yes, the contestants are putting their lives on the line to compete for $10 million. It’s pretty groundbreaking.
Ashley: That’s amazing! That is a twist. Does Amber play a part in the show?
Mariano: No, actually. She won $1 million on Survivor and she’s putting me to work now. [Laughs] She’s probably going to show up when we’re in Paris, Europe or Australia, you know, the nice places. But when I’m down in Antarctica, I’m sure she’ll just let me go to work and be on my own.
Ashley: Right. [Laughs] That’s awesome; I’m not going to miss it. It sounds like a really cool show.
Mariano: Yeah, we’re excited. We’re looking to film it in just a few weeks or so. We’re finalizing the casting selections within the next couple of weeks, and it’ll be here in the spring.
Ashley: Now, which do you prefer more, to be the host of a reality show or actually compete in one?
Mariano: You know, it’s funny. When I was first asked to host this show, and after I heard the premise of the show and everything, my first reaction was that I don’t want to host the show; I want to compete in it. I am competitive by nature, but it’s definitely a good transition for me. The production crew has the benefit of actually having someone who’s competed in the past — I mean, I know all of the ins and outs of the reality TV world, so I won’t let them pull any fast ones on me.
Ashley: [Laughs]
Mariano: It’s a natural transition, and I’m excited to give it a shot.
Ashley: That sounds really cool. So, I’m just curious … what do you put in your tax return these days? Professional reality game show player? Or host?
Mariano: I don’t know, my accountant handles that. [Laughs] I can talk to him, and get back to you if you really need to know.
Ashley: No, no, that’s okay. [Laughs] Now that you’re hosting your own reality show, would you say that you are more of a Jeff Probst from Survivor kind of host or Phil Keoghan from Amazing Race?
Mariano: You know what? Jeff is a good friend of mine, and I’ve gotten to know Phil over the years as well. They both have very unique styles and bring something different to the games that they host. I hope that I have learned a bit from each of them, and combine a little of both with what they have to offer, and add a little bit of my own flair as well.
Ashley: Yeah, you’re in the driver’s seat right now. I think that this couldn’t a better position for you.
Mariano: Thanks. Yeah, it’s really cool. To host a major show on a major network is a great opportunity. Those guys are seasoned veterans, so I’m definitely looking at what they have done in the past. Obviously, Amber and I are huge fans of both of those shows, and we still watch them all the time. But I think I want to do something that’s a little bit unique to myself as well.
Ashley: Yeah, I could definitely see that. Well, you’re definitely a huge inspiration for me. Before I went on this season’s Survivor: China, I watched you on Survivor, of course. And as you know, this season of Survivor starts this Thursday, and I was wondering, with all of your success, what’s the secret to success on the show?
Mariano: Well… you know that I had the opportunity to do it twice and compete in the All-Stars. The second time around, I learned a lot from doing it the first time. And I think that the most important thing is to not go into the game with a set strategy, but to be able to adapt to your situation.
Ashley: Yeah, you never know what you’re going to get. It’s different for everybody.
Mariano: Totally. I mean, you don’t know what type of situation you are going to be in. You don’t know when the tracks are going to switch, or when the next challenge is going to be. But you have to have the ability to be able to think on your feet, think outside of the box and to adapt. I think that’s what helped Amber and I to go a long way the second time.
Ashley: Out of all the reality shows you watch, which one is your favorite?
Mariano: Well, Survivor, Amazing Race and Tontine. You know, Amber and I were fortunate enough to have the experience to go to Vegas last year for a couple months, and we actually worked and produced our own show about me trying to become a professional poker player. It was called Rob & Amber: Against the Odds. It was a lot of fun because we were in a situation where… you know, everyday Amber and I get pitched different projects and different things to do and some of them were cool and some of them were completely off the wall. So, we decided to take our fate into our own hands, and do a show on something that we want to do a show about. We contacted the people, and I got to fulfill one of my lifelong dreams. I got to meet Daniel Negreanu and Josh Arieh and all of the big poker players, and live the Vegas life for about six months. It was a lot of fun.
Ashley: That’s awesome. Now, you are a team that so many people love to hate. You [also] have so many fans that love you, and another contingent that are against you. From what we’ve seen, some of your fellow competitors probably are not coming to your place this Sunday for brunch. What advice do you have for me to get along with others on the show?
Mariano: You know what, here’s the thing: Don’t worry about how they’re going to like you after the game or whatever. Amber and I both went in with the mentality to play the game.
Ashley: Yeah, you gotta play the game. No matter what, you are competing against these people, and you may be a friendly person and may make friendships, but it’s still a competition.
Mariano: You have to stay focused on the game, and don’t let your personal feelings interfere with your task at hand. The hardest thing is that you get voted off one of those shows, and the hardest thing is to know that that adventure is over for you. And a lot of people aren’t able to separate games from hurt feelings.
Ashley: It comes with the territory. It’s the same thing as WWE. We compete against each other and say to ourselves all the time, “Okay, I may have lost this match but that’s how it goes.”
Mariano: At the end of the day, your friends and your family will still be there for you. Just go into it with a clear head, and don’t go on Survivor and the Amazing Race because you want to have fun. You know what I mean? Don’t do it. Go in there to win. I mean, if you go in there to have fun, don’t cry about it after the fact when you don’t win.
Ashley: Oh, cool. One last question before I go, Rob. The goal for WWE Superstars and Divas is to try to win as many championships as possible. What are your goals for the future? Is “Romber” (Rob and Amber) planning on doing more things collaboratively or separately?
Mariano: Right now I am 100 percent focused on Tontine, and that’s taking a lot of my time. It’s a 100- day competition, so I’m going to be on the road for a while going to all seven continents. But we are always open to new ideas. I definitely still have a passion for the game of poker, and would like to continue that. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even start a family someday.
Ashley: Yeah! Cool, that’s exciting! Well, before you go, I have to let you know that I am a huge New York Yankees fan.
Mariano: Oh, well, there goes the interview.
Ashley: [Laughs] I’m just saying I think we might beat the Red Sox again this year. Any comments?

WWE Diva talks Playboy, broken bones, and Wrestlemania.

March 9, 2007 - Ashley Massaro is the type of girl that could make you smile one second, kick you in the teeth the next. "That's why WWE Divas are the best of both worlds," says the former Diva Search winner turned wrestler turned Playboy covergirl. Massaro AKA The Dirty Diva appreciates the duality of her role in WWE. "As Divas, we're sexy, beautiful, tough girls. That's what you have to be, double sided in terms of being tough and beautiful."
And it's that duality that has catapulted Massaro to the icon-status of Playboy bunny, not to mention a guest spot on Smallville where the self-professed comic book nerd even gets into a "wicked" fight with Lois Lane.
A scene that I'm sure is a lot different than her day-to-day poundings inside the squared-circle of a WWE ring.
One question I always had, though, is whether there's any ricochet or bounce back when dropping an elbow on the, well, bouncy chest of someone like Jillian (what can I say, those suckers look like they could bounce you over the top rope if you jumped on them).
Ashley cracks up at the question. "I usually aim for the throat because it does more devastation, and in Jillian's case, she needs to get hit in the throat with that voice of hers. I usually try to avoid those bouncy objects and I haven't been bounced off yet, I'll just say that."

IGN Sports We all see the amazing pictures and the glory of being on the cover, but what is an actual Playboy photo shoot like? How many people are in the room?
Ashley Massaro: Oh my gosh, it's so funny. There's a decent amount of people in there because there's makeup, there's hair, there's photographer's assistants, lighting guys, set guys, the photographer, WWE people, video and still photos…it was a closed set, but I was like "This is closed?" There were a lot of people in there. [laughs] When I first got there, I was so nervous but it wears off fast because there's so much going on and there's so much other stuff that needs to be done other than you just dropping your robe. For the first second you feel naked, but after that it's more like "let's do this!" I got into it.
IGN Sports: So there wasn't some creepy photographer's assistant hiding in the corner or anything like that?
Ashley Massaro: [laughs] No, thank God! It's funny, the whole thing was super sexy and they want that face from you, that look where the photographer is telling you "give me sexy". I'm trying to do that, but there was also a ton of silly stuff that went down when we were trying to do the shoot. There was a chair we were using for the cover shot and I was sitting on the edge of it and there was this heavy-set guy, cool as hell, but he was the photographer's assistant and he was sitting on the other end of the chair so it wouldn't tip over. There was one point in the shoot where I'm trying to be all sexy and I go to sit down on the chair but I didn't notice that he wasn't sitting on the other end and boom I hit the floor and the chair goes flying. [laughs] Everyone was freaking out. The people from WWE are laughing because they know that that's just like me, and I'm laughing, but the people from Playboy are like "oh my God, we need to take you to the hospital".

IGN Sports: Did Playboy pick you specifically to do the cover or did they tell WWE that they wanted a Diva and WWE picked you?
Ashley Massaro: I got a phone call and was told Playboy was interested in doing a cover shoot. They used the word interested, like "don't get excited, we're going to talk about it, come to a meeting", but at least they were interested. How do you not get excited when you get that phone call? Finally we're at the meeting, executives from Playboy are there, Vince McMahon is there, a couple of other people are there and we sit down and the people from Playboy start discussing how they want to use me for the cover and pictorial. I'm through the roof, but I'm trying to act all cool and professional, so I'm sitting on the edge of my chair - no bumps this time - and the executive from Playboy's first words out of his mouth are "We want Ashley for the cover and we want to keep her exactly as she is on the show. We want her exactly as she is, we don't want to alter anything. We want to leave her piercings in, we want to leave her tattoos un-airbrushed…we want to leave her as she is." When I heard that, I knew right then that I definitely wanted to do it. That's the first time a magazine has been more than supportive. They spray painted my tattoos on the backdrop of the set, they painted two huge nautical stars like I have on my elbows, and they even wrote the article as "Star Struck" after my finisher. They were just above and beyond supportive.
IGN Sports: I mentioned the glory of being on the magazine cover and being on national TV every week, but what's something the fans don't know about the WWE Diva lifestyle? How tough of a job is it?
Ashley Massaro: We're on the road about 300 days a year and it really takes a certain type of person to do that and be comfortable in that type of situation. Luckily, I'm that type of person. It's probably a lot more work than people imagine. Besides the matches and the physicality and the training, you have all of the appearances and the media and other things you need to attend. We have three live events and one TV show every week, go home for two days, then head right back on the road again.

IGN Sports: You must have a lot of downtime on the road. What do you do to pass the time?
Ashley Massaro: We have downtime, but it always fills up, I don't know how. I never find myself sitting in my car wondering what to do. Usually someone calls me and tells me I have to do an interview or something, and it's nice. The months fly by. Two years feels like a couple of months. It's crazy.
IGN Sports: When I talked to you after winning the Diva Search, you had just started taking your first bumps. What's it been like for you getting involved in the physical aspect of WWE. I know Monday you were on hand when Mickie James landed on her head.
Ashley Massaro: Ugh! I was ringside and I thought she broke her neck. I jumped up and was out of my chair. What we do is dangerous. Obviously things could happen and you have to be as safe as you can, and a lot of that goes back to training safely then applying that in the ring while at the same time being aware that things like that could happen. I know after I broke my leg I was certainly aware of that. [laughs] I went over the top rope and landed on my leg in a Divas Battle Royal. Mickie gave me a head scissors and was pulling me over and Candice dumped me over the rope and I landed on my leg. I had a spiral fracture, a five inch metal plate and eight screws put in my leg, a severed nerve, and a couple of broken bones in my foot. I knew this was a possibility, and you hear the tragic stories of people getting injured in the ring for years and it just comes with the territory. You just have to try and be safe, but at the same time, don't let that riddle you with anxiety. My mom wants to freak out when I do something risky in the ring, but I've always been the type of kid who climbed the highest branch on the tree and jumps down. I broke my arm skating when I tried a rail slide for the first time, so I've always been the type of person who knows I'll get it right eventually, even if that means I get hurt the first time I try.

IGN Sports: The Divas are always thrown into crazy bra and panties in pudding types of matches. Do you prefer the gimmicky stuff or just a straight singles match?
Ashley Massaro: I like just having singles matches because it's challenging. I like a challenge and I like going out there and giving it my all. That's my favorite thing to do. I like wrestling, and I like training with the boys, it's fun. It's a satisfying feeling to learn a new move. Practicing something over and over then applying it to the ring and having it work, it's extremely gratifying. Paul London and Brian Kendrick, the tag team champs that I manage, have been spending a lot of time with me in the ring, and I love being able to walk out to the ring with them, watch their matches, and take it all in. That's good for me.
IGN Sports: What match are you most looking forward to at Wrestlemania?

Ashley Massaro: One of the matches I'm looking forward to is the Battle of the Billionaires because I cannot believe that either Vince McMahon or Donald Trump is going to be leaving with a shaved head. I can't believe it. I can't picture either of them without hair…it just doesn't work. Everyone thinks Donald Trump will win because there's no way he'll lose his hair, but I don't know, I just don't think so. Maybe this is his opportunity to get rid of that thing and get that hair off his head. Maybe it has been a dream of his to get rid of that hair since it's always the object of so much public scrutiny.

IGN Sports: My question though is whether either of those heads of hair are real.
Ashley Massaro: [laughs] I think they are. He showed Vince in the ring, and I was ringside for that because I walked Donald Trump down to the ring on Raw and I saw it up close, he showed Vince his hairline and it looked pretty real. I know Vince's hair is real. I see him every week and it seems real to me. I never really tugged on it or anything, so I don't know for sure, but it looks real to me. I think it would be pretty shocking to see either of them lose their hair.

So much to catch up on....
Hi,
First off, I'd like to say, sorry for being away so long. I wish I could explain from top to bottom whats going on and what has been going since around when I first got sick, but I can't. I will someday I promise just not right now. I'm sure you guys understand You always have, and you've always put up with my crazy mood swings and my up and down weird blogs so heres another. hehe, sorry.
I cut all my hair and took my lip rings out for now. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH haha Theyll be back tho, they always are, just a lil diff. ;o) Gotta keep yall guessin ya know. ;op
I like it though, you can kinda tell in that pic I took of me last night thats on my default. I just got the computer yest and hooked it up asap. Then I was like wow, it's been along time since I've said hi to my myspace punks.
Ok, moving onward, so much has changed....
I have moved...again. Austin, and I LOVE IT. I love where I am now. I feel so much more at home than I did before. I still miss NY very much and can't wait to go there again soon. But just for a trip not to live ;o)
So lets tell yall some of the latest with out getting too far in depth as to not bore you haha. Ok so Paul and I got puppies, : o) Theres a pic of them in my pics section. Pekinese. 3 of them, 2 boys are his and I got one girl, although I sort of adopted one of the boys as my own now too. My girls name is Peanut Zartana Magnifico. His boys are Xomat and Tomax. I love Tomax, hes my homie. Xomat, Paul's, is def the alpha male. He's a little bossy, and bullyish. Bettter for Paul, but I still love all 3 They all came from the same litter, we couldn't decide on 1 so we got all 3. : o) They've really been brightening things up over here. It's amazing what animals can do for you when you're down.
Ok, next....my entire computer crashed along with over 5000 songs in my music library and about 4000 pictures. Personal and work portfolio pics. So disheartening. I'm shocked that this could happen. They are gone forever. Then I had something to do for WWE last week and left my iphone in the limo!!!! So I was pretty much cut off from society completely. I have no ones phone number memorized and my old sidekick deleted all my contacts. So, I've just been winging it. If anybody has any of my personal pics saved that I've posted up here and deleted, and wanted to email them to me that would be awesome, I'm going to make a new email address and post it up here next blog. I haven't talked to anyone in so long, not even Tam, or Kyle or anyone. I miss everyone, and I'm sorry I've been so MIA. Been having some ridiculous crazy stuff going on, that really put a damper on things, I didn't think I was gonna kick out this time I felt like the world was caving in but I'm alive, and I'm fighting. One day you'll understand what I'm talking about I promise.
I think I have the Survivor Finale in LA coming up soon. I need to call them and find out. They sent me an email but my email address shut down so I gotta call them somehow. Theres a contest WWE is having to send someone to the finale with me as part of Survivor Series, did someone win that already, is that contest over or still going on? I hope its still going on, I'd love it if one of yall got to come with me, that would be rad! I may bring my new pups : o) Theyll prob hang back in the hotel though, they dpnt like all the press hahahha. Theyre very private dogs. Peanut says if shes to be shown n the Survivor finale theyll have to call her agent, she doesn't get out of bed for less than 50 k.
WOW, I've totally turned into that girl havent I. The one whose obsessed with her animals. Oh man, please disregard those comments, esp the lame joke at the end. Never thought I would be like that with my dogs, ha they make ya smile. If any of you guys have a pic with your animal of any kind post it up here on this blog I'd LOVE to see it.
When I was a kid I had all kinds of animals, 3 iguanas, all named Iggy. WHAT I was a kid, sorry for my lack of creativity! A green snake that got loose in the house and we never found him. A Chinchilla. 3 Floppy earred rabbits. I had 2 white mice that multiplied even though the dude at the pet store told me they were both boys and they ended up having 20 babies so there was a grand total of 22 at one time. My mom made me get rid of them. 8o( Sundance my golden retriever, Sargent my black lab both in heaven. Salsa, Snickers and Tigger, my cats. Harvey the dwarf Hamster. I even had homing pigeons in a cage in the back yard. We let it go cuz they were homing pigeons which means they are supposed to come home after you let them out each day...only, he never came back. HA. We waited a long time. Paulie the turtle, that one was named after PAul last year, we have subsequently let him go free in a pond because thats where we found him when he was a baby in the beginning of the year and now hes a grown up turtle! I bet my bros gonna read this blog and laugh cuz I don't think weve even thought about these animals in FOREVER.
Anyway, how the hell did I end up listing my animals, weird.
So Beth Phoenix....damn. That girl is bad ass. Shes got my respect as an athlete for damn sure. I've been watching matches of hers for the passed week...studying her moves. We'll talk more about all that in another blog.
Well, I'm glad I got to drop in and say hi. I think this site needs to be re vamped what do you guys think? A total facelift. I'm going to get myself a new camera and start shooting like mad to add all new pics and I need some help with a new background and layout and all that. I got an idea, lets have a contest to see whose got the best skills on myspace or the best taste I should say. Whose got some good ideas. If someone can show me some tests, i'll choose one and make a winner of Ash's Myspace re-vamp. I'll send a box of autographed goodies from myself and a couple other Superstars. I'll make it a fun little package you'll be competing for let the games begin. I'll post the details and rules of the contest on the next blog. I love when we do stuff like this : o) And my myspace will look all new and shiny thanks to "your name here" Where are those web designers at!!!!

Done with Survivor....finally
So I officially finished Survivor on Sunday, that was a long season eh? I guess it feels that way since I got voted off early on. Man, ya win some ya lose some. I can't win it all but I'll keep trying thats for sure. I had a cold and my ear wouldnt pop the whole way home on my flt yest, so so annoying. I cant believe Todd won a mill, I mean I can kinda cuz was the shistiest but I mean wow. I wouldnt have been able to just sit there through the show I woulda been running around and screaming. Kinda like I did when I won the diva search. I have a problem containing myself, Im guessing some of yall know that already. Now for the end of this saga with Survivor. Adieu, to all the people who have so much to say about every one of the contestants who go out there, screw you guys, go try it yourself and youll see its a hell of a lot different than you imagine. I've accomplished so many wonderful things in my life against so many obstacles that one experience in which I did not come out on top and someone else who was more deserving did, does not phase me. Oh my gosh I had the worst nightmare last night, all night long, even when I'd wake up I'd fall back aslee and it would continue. It was about these wolves, that had rabies or something, and they were attacking my neighborhood and family I kept trying to save these children and put them in closets and hide from the wolves inthese houses but they kept smelling us out and tru=ying to brek through the door, it wasterrifying, woulda made a rad movie. I have so many whack nightmares I should start writing some screenplays.
The song on my profile now , Find a Way. I listened to that probably close to 100k times in China. I only had a small IPod and On the way there and back I lsteded to that song over and over again.

I may as well telly ou guys some funny stories from China since I' am closing htis chapter in my life...
I started a journal on my way to Survivor. I started reading the Secret and All these self help books that are supposed to change your destiny. HA! I believed it for a sec. I made this journal and it was so corny and poetic and cheesy, Deear Jornal, I am about to embark on the greatest journey of my entire life....blah blah blah.
I do this for the week they keep us in China before sending us out to the camp then I leave and enter in m,y journal and write about how I am about to win a million dollars and how I'm going to sharwe it with people who are less fortunate and I even drew a picture of a check made out to me How ridiculous!!!!! But it says to do that in the Secret, ok stop making fun now. Then after I get voted of thenext entry in my journal after all that poetic trash was F% THESE PEOPLE AND F$@ THIS PLACE I HATE IT HERE THIS WAS ALL B$ SHT!!!! HAHAH What a dork. IT;s actually pretty funny to see in person. Maybe I'll auction it on WWE. It has a bunch of poems Iw rote and some other crap, I dont know.
Anyway, then anotherfunny part prob the only one I ould funny while out there int hat disgusting rainy ****hole, was when Sherea and Jamie were trying to tech me to walk it out. HAHA PAul hates when I do it, he said I should never try it again HAHAHAH HE cracks me up when he says that. I triully am one of the worlds worst dancers. Johnny Ace knows that and he put us divas ina dance contest on a house show once and plkayed my music for like 5 mins out there just to see me squirm.. Mean rib, hahah

Happy New Year’s ma loves!
I'm going on a lil trip up wayyyy North for some fun in the snow, can't remember the last time I've done something like this w my bff. So, I won't be in town to wish you guys a Happy new Year! Raw’s rockin’ Diva, Ashley, recently talked with hip-hop pioneer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, for WWE.com's latest Superstar to Superstar. During their conversation, Ashley and one-third of the legendary group Run-DMC discovered they’re huge fans of one another, and DMC had quite the proposal for the punky Diva.
Ashley: Hey, what’s going on, man? It’s awesome to talk to you. I am so glad you were able to make it.
DMC: It’s a pleasure to talk to you. This is unbelievable. It’s so cool.
Ashley: Thanks for taking the time, man.
DMC: How you doing?
Ashley: I’m doing good; how about yourself?
DMC: I’m good. Where are you?
Ashley: I’m just stuck in a little bit of traffic.
DMC: Where are you?
Ashley: I’m in Austin, Texas, now. I was living in New York my whole life, and I just moved down here a couple of months ago.
DMC: That’s a beautiful city.
Ashley: Yeah, I love it here. It’s so nice.
DMC: Yes, it is.
Ashley: Well, it’s much different then New York City, but I still love it. So is it all right if I ask you a couple of questions?
DMC: Yes, it is.
Ashley: All right, cool. It sounds like you’ve been involved in a lot lately. First, tell me about winning a 2007 Emmy Award in the Outstanding Arts & Culture Programming category for your VH1 documentary, DMC: My Adoption Journey.
DMC: Well, first of all, that was so unexpected because I didn’t even do the documentary for an award; I did it for a real purpose. At the age of 35, I found out that I was adopted, and I didn’t know that my whole life. Then, when I started meeting other adopted people, we have this thing where we ask, where’s our beginning? How do I find out my real identity? Because the people who adopted me were my mother and father, but I wanted to find out where my story began. So I started going to – we call them "Adoption Anonymous" meetings – where adopted people get together. We just started talking, and a lot of them didn’t know how to do the search. So I said, “OK, what am I here for?” And this is what I could do for them, to serve a purpose. So actually, I did the documentary to help other people. But at the same time, it really helped me.
Ashley: Right, absolutely.
DMC: When [the film] got nominated, it was so huge; everybody was going crazy. I was like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah!” Then I get the phone call, “D, guess what? You won!” … It was a really good feeling.
Ashley: Yeah, and you get so much more exposure on top of that for your cause, which is just incredible.
DMC: Yes, exactly. You got it. It’s insane.
Ashley: That’s great; good for you. I read that DMC doesn’t stand for “Devastating Mic Controller” or “Darryl Mac” anymore, but “Deliver My Children” instead. Is that true?
DMC: Yes, it does. At age 35, I’m going through what many kids go through – especially those in the foster care system. I was fortunate to be adopted, but there are a lot of kids who are not adopted yet. They might turn 18 years old and age out of the system. Being DMC, the great hip-hop god, we serve a purpose: To use hip-hop as a foundation to communicate with that generation. So, Darryl McDaniels, Devastating Mic Controller, Darryl Mac, is all good. But now, in this day and age, "DMC" means "Deliver My Children," because that’s what this world is telling me to do. I have a responsibility.
Ashley: That’s awesome. Now the name of your organization, is it The Felix Organization/Adoptees for Children?
DMC: Yeah, Felix Organization/Adoptees for Children. Basically, it's a bunch of adoptees who have gotten together to provide financial, educational, inspirational, motivational and financial opportunities for kids less fortunate than us.
Ashley: In September 2006, you were presented with the Congressional Angels in Adoption Award for your work with children in foster care and adoption promotion. That’s an amazing honor.
DMC: It was a really amazing honor because they told me people like Sharon Stone and Denzel Washington, Patti LaBelle, Victoria Rowell would be there. It was one of those instances where I’m sitting at this big gala and asking myself, “What am I doing here?” Really, what’s good about it, is that it touches lives. That’s what I think about everybody that’s on the face of this earth. We all have something in common, a purpose and reason, and we should all help each other.
Ashley: As part of the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC, you, Rev. Run and Jam-Master Jay became music pioneers. Are you still close with Rev. Run? Do you plan to work together again?
DMC: Nah, I see him on TV more than I see him in person. My joke is he’s a reverend, I’m a rocker, but technically it’s still the same thing – touching people’s lives. But I love, love, love music too much. I’m a rock 'n roller at heart. I could never stop making music, I don’t want to be on TV just to be on TV, you know what I’m saying? When people see me at age 85 walking in, I want you to see DMC the same way you see Bruce Springsteen or Bob Dylan, because – don’t get me wrong, more power to everybody, but I like to do things rappers don’t do, and everybody has a reality show.
Ashley: Yes, that’s true, everybody does have a reality show!
DMC: You know what I’m saying, I've got to do something different. Instead of doing reality, I just did a documentary as opposed to doing a reality show. I mean, it was real, don’t get me wrong....
Ashley: Right, and look what happened. I mean, look how it turned out.
DMC: I love music so much, I just want to keep communicating with the music.
Ashley: Sure, absolutely. Now, tell me about your involvement in the Jam-Master Jay Foundation, an organization honoring the late Run-DMC member.
DMC: Yeah well, Jay always said, “Yo, if it wasn’t for me having music class in high school, I would have never really got into music. The reason why I became a DJ was because I was exposed to music.” But if you think about it, and I know you know this, if you look at the inner cities, they’re taking the music programs out. By having arts – I don’t care if it’s music, poetry, dance or whatever – it’s a great way to communicate and get the kids to learn. So I’m thinking, what would Jay do if he was still here with the power that he has as Jam-Master Jay, one of the greatest DJs in the world? So the Jam-Master Jay Foundation is put here on the face of the earth to keep the music programs in the hood.
Ashley: I read that Run-DMC will be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Do you have any details you can share on that?
DMC: I cannot comprehend that. That’s, like, scary. When they say that, I’m like, “Me?” It’s a great honor because we’re on a whole other level, and lets us know that hip-hop music is a legitimate form of music. I mean, you can criticize some of it because there’s a lot of hip-hop where they’ll just steal everybody else’s music. There’s hip-hop that’s good, but there’s hip-hop that’s great. And a majority of the great hip-hop was created or produced with all original stuff. So I can’t even comprehend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s like a dream, definitely like a dream. Like it’s a dream that I'm speaking to you! My son is so jealous right now.
Ashley: Aww, that’s great! Now I heard you’ll be judging the Humane Society of the United States’ first “Hip Hop for Hounds” contest. How does it feel to be honored by them, and can you tell me a little bit about the organization?
DMC: Sure, it’s a real cool thing because basically there was a lot of negative publicity about dog fighting. But there’s a lot of people who really love their pets, and at the same time, I like to challenge the kids’ creativity. They’ll look at rap and think they’ve got to rap about violence and sex and bad stuff. This contest lets people know to treat your pets well and to be humane with animals. At the same time, I just want to hear who can write the best rap about the pets that they love.
Ashley: Yes, that’s great! I want to enter that! I've got three little Pekingese puppies.
DMC: Oh, well, you should enter!
Ashley: I’m just playing!
DMC: You could probably write a killer rhyme!
Ashley: That would be pretty sick! So, you recently took part in the Celebrity Flag Football Challenge 2008 during Super Bowl weekend in Arizona, where you also performed at the halftime show. What was that like?
DMC: It was killer. What was cool were the players. Like, I played with former and current players, and I played with Chad Johnson and he even scored. As soon as he came into the game, he scored a touchdown, and you know he had to do his dance. Everybody was waiting for him to do it, and he did. These guys are really, really athletes; they’re really, really athletic, like you girls and guys over there. I was nervous at first because Doug Flutie was the quarterback on my team. He threw me two passes, and I dropped them!
Ashley: I was going to say, wasn’t it intimidating to be playing with professionals?
DMC: It was very intimidating.
Ashley: Oh Lord, I know I would be intimidated.
DMC: Yeah, but they were really cool with me. They were like, “Yo, D, pull it together man. Don’t try and catch the ball with your hands, pull it to your body.” I redeemed myself because I scored two touchdowns.
Ashley: Oh wow, that’s great!
DMC: Yo, I was intimidated.
Ashley: Yeah, well I would be, too. These are pros. No, but that’s good that they were so cool and you all had fun.
DMC: Yeah, I was in it for the NFL charities. They give to hospitals and cancer programs and stuff like that.
Ashley: And the performance at the halftime show was good?
DMC: Yeah, I did the halftime show. I did “Walk This Way” and I did my new single that will hopefully be out in a couple of weeks. … You got to come be in my video!
Ashley: Oh, heck yeah, you know I will! I mean, all you’ve got to do is say the word!
DMC: You have to be there, it has to happen.
Ashley: I will, I will be there, you just tell me!
DMC: For sure!
Ashley: So you’ll perform later this month at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colo., to benefit the Action in Africa organization. Can you tell me about your involvement in the organization?
DMC: Well, my involvement in this organization is to bring attention to the plights of Africa. There is so much going on over in Africa, and for me, music was always one of the great vehicles of communication – communicating messages that were important to society. I mean, we've got our politicians and our priests and our pastors and stuff like that. But if you look at people like John Lennon, Bob Dylan and John Fogerty, and what they did with their music, we have representatives that we elect to represent us, but a lot of times the voice of the people has to come from the people. There are a lot of people in Africa who don’t know and who can’t speak, so I've got to say it for them.
Ashley: Right, those who don’t have a voice, that’s great. Now, what can fans expect to hear on your second solo album, The Next Level, and when will it be released?
DMC: OK, well, I wish The Next Level was coming out next week, but it probably won’t be out until June. The first single will drop in two weeks. But this is what it’s going to be: It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be educational, inspirational, motivational and it’s going to be some real good music.
Ashley: Yeah, that’s awesome! Well, I’ve got to tell you, DMC, it was such a pleasure talking to you. You are an amazing human being. I mean, there is a lot of stuff I learned during this interview. I’m really lucky to have talked to you; it’s amazing what you’re doing for the community and for all these different organizations you’re working with. I am really happy I got to talk to you. So, I just had to post because I got a super pleasant surprise today. I'm here in good old NC visiting my mama dukes and I got word that one of my favorite bands has re done my entrance music! I only heard a few seconds of it but it will be on the new WWE The Music CD ass a bonus soundtract available on March 25th! SO SICK!!!
Now, I know I havent been around in a minute on Mon nights but dont worry your pretty little heads just working out a few tweaks that needed fixing on the joints- or one particularly annoying as hell joint- and I'll be back. When I get back full time I wanna make sure I'm strong as hell and let me tell you, since getting back from Survivor, its been f'ing hard to put on weight or muscle. I'm working with a Phy Therapist now and should be back to normal at the very least soon. Who am I kidding I'm coming back cock diesel.....hahah ok no I'm not. But I promise no one will have to hold up signs saying Feed Ashley hahah ya jerks...
Anyway, I'm going to be in LA for a sec this week, stoked on it. Then I also have a signing coming up in good ole Texas I believe, anyone got details on that?

I got a bit of good news today, getting my cast off around march 25th! Yay! Apparently I broke it and tore 2 tendons. Not sure when but it had been bugging me for a hot minute. By the time I finally got it checked that was what was wrong. At least it comes off soon, feels like its been forever. Le me tell you, showering is a ***** with a cast, I HATE IT.
I have a few more things goin on this week, back to TX and back to LA :-)
Can't wait to get back to work and to see yall again.

The latest questions I’ve been getting from yall, dang, everything from Playboy nums (which is a load of crap btw n I know for fact) down to rumors about me. SXSW
Hey yall!
So, I’m here in Austin and theres this rad festival called SXSW that happens one a year, I’m so glad I am here for it! There are like 1500 bands playing last and this week its sick! There are also movie premieres and all kinds of cool stuff to go see. The weathers been amazing for it. So much fun! Any of you guys heard of it?
Paul and I went to go see this awesome band called The Boxing Lesson a few times last week. Awesome band and awesome people. You guys should def check em out. I can vouch that their performances live are just as good as their recorded tracks. Hit em up at www.myspace.com/theboxinglesson

Happy Easter!!! Good news!!

So, im pretty stoked. I got my cast off!! So glad it, not for nothin but it was kinda gettin a lil rank...I got it wet :( So, I went had it checked out and the doc said we could take it off a wee bit early! Gots to do some PT now but things are lookin up!!!
I just got to NC to spend Easter with the fam, and they lost my flippin luggage. I hate the airlines these days, I mean seriously. So now I’m just hoping they call and tell me whats up with these bags.
Anyway, can’t talk long cuz I just got here but just wanted to drop a note to say thanks for all the Happy Easter messages, you guys have a good one toooooooo, eat lots of eggs! I totally just dropped in egg in some food coloring trying to relive my youth. What! Its fun man...go ahead and make fun. Don’t knock it till ya do it. Wheres my fellow egg colorersssss at??

Some updates for ya punks
Hi! So, wow, Wrestlemania...was...HUGE! That was probably one of the most awesomest experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life. Just being there, I mean BEING there for Ric’s retirement, I mean, this is just wow, Ric has always been such a great friend AND the life of the party since I arrived here at WWE and its so heartbreaking to see him go, but it really was pretty amazing to be there for his final match against Shawn.
And as for our match, it was amazing I mean truly amazing to wrestle out there under the stars and the fireworks with close to 80,000 people there. It was sick! I mean what a rush. I had a match last year agaisnst Melina at Mania at Ford Field and there were 80k people there too but didnt this Mania just FEEL BIGGER??? It did to me, I walked back soooooo slow after the match trying to take it all in. I know it sounds silly to describe it this way but I’m glad someone was recording it because it prob will be one of the best memories of my entire life.
So, anyway, headed to the UK babyyyyyyy! Gonna see all my Londonites! can’t wait!
I’m actually heading over there with a friend of mine and then were heading directly to Prague and the Czech Republic right after so I’m so stoked on that, I’ve never been there! Very excited! Then off to Denver to see a couple shows then back to good old Greenville, SC for RAW on Monday!
My very good friend Jamie and her fiance Carmine, also an old friend, are getting married on Thurs in NY and I’m headed up there today for that, I’m super excited for her, should be awesome!
So lots on the horizon! Peanut, Tomax and Xamot are doing AWESOME, thanks for asking! Peanuts been on the rd for a hot sec. Shes already an old pro. She loves it, soooo good travelling.

New Music Video! And You TUBE!

So, this was the surprise some of yall might know some may not, cuz I think it may have leaked a wee bit but I just shot a new music video for Rev Theory the dudes who did Wrestlemanias official theme song. It was soooo dope!! Waitll you guys see it! I cant wait! Should be up later on during the week I believe. More on that later...
So I have been addicted to Youube on my offtime while on the rd these passed 3 weeks. So funny. First off the Iron Sheik shoot interviews...wow. Anybody seen these? Fully entertaining.
Then someone at work buzzed me on these youtube vids called The Ashley Situation. They feature a bunch of the Superstars on the roster, someone just made them themselves, I'd love to know who cuz theyare too funny. They put up like 5 episodes and tehres storyline. HA. FREAKING HILARIOUS, go check it out. I popped. Huge. The faces are jsut tooo funny. Just type in the ashley situation in search at youtube. Teeheee
So yeah, went to Prague and got pickpocketed and got my wallet jacked!!! So pissed!!! Now I have to take my stupid rd test over to get a new license since I dont live in NY anymore! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So hot. Other than that it was a pretty rad place. Had a great time, just was exhausted from just coming off mania and tv then shooting Rev Theorys video in LA then str8 to London then to Prague. I havent been home in like 3 weeks but I just arrived back in good old Tex today and I'm so beyond stoked. I'm gonna catch up on sme sleepies cuz I'm mega tired but just wanted to drop a line thanks for all the comments about your thoughts on BAcklash and RAW. Thanks for watching and commenting. So, Raw was awesome, Mickie won her match, we got to go back to good old T-town AND I got to see Trish!! I missed her!! She looked great as always! So Memorial day happens to fall on my bday...tomorrow
Aside from my silly birthday I'd like to take this time to talk about this insane war we have going on that feel like it will never end. I have had the utmost pleasure meeting and hanging with the Soldiers while out in Saudi, Iraq, and Kuwait. These guys are out there day in and day out busting their asses for our freedom. Now I can't say I'm pro war, we won't even get into that but Memorial day is a day we should all seriously take a moment for tho soldiers who have lost their lives and theirs a numerous amount now. I wish you guys could understand and have seen it through your own eyes. we owe them so much more than they deserve. And this is a day that the ones that are home safe and sound thank god...show your respect. they are on the frontlines fighting for us and its so hard for them out there. Makes our sched look like cake.
So to all of yall that can hear me out there...WE..Ashley and my punks are with you all the way, can not thank you enough for what you've done. My bday seems insignificant considering what these guys have put at stake to put themselves out there.
WE LOVE YOU guys.
If you guys could all post s message to them here i'd really appreciate it. We can't wait till you guys come home, stay f'ing safe. We can't wait for this thing to be over.

Gimme a HELL F’N YEAH!!! Oh and new ink
So Rev Theory's vid kicked ass, so happy I go to do it those guy are totally coool dudes, all the way around. So they happen to be having their record release party this Thursday. Dying to go but not sure if the stars are in line. Just wanted to say hi.
Lets take a poll shall we..
What should be the next song on my profile page post if ya feel like it. Can't wait to see my punks again and just WAIT till you here what I have in store next going to be the dopest yet!
PS I'm gonna be training in Cackalacki at a ring near Greensville with Shane coming up so, hopefully we'll have some new moves to execute upon my arrival. L

PS Almost forgot to mention Shane who did my tattoo at Gas Chamber Ink THE ONLY PLACE to get a tattoo in the NC metro area.
Since so many would like to know what it means I will share, just this once;
The Kangi means or is translated to : TRUST NO ONE
And the Pink and Red Dragon is me, a symbol of strength trying to weave through the untruthfulness in this world.
There I could go on but thats quite enough.

Ashley Massaro has confirmed through her Myspace account that she has asked for a release from the WWE. She states that her daughter is sick and she simply can't do both. The following is the post she made today:
I have some thing to tell you guys and I wanted u 2 be the first 2 hear it...I tried very hard out of the respect I have for her privacy and not wanting her 2 be exposed in any negative light but I have a 7yr old daughter and I just found out 2day that she not well and I can't be on the road with WWE when my own flesh and blood needs me...I am a single parent trying 2 juggle taking care of my child and working my butt off for her and now at this point when she is sick and needs me home I have 2 make the decision 2 bow out of wwe for a while and take care of my daughter...I wish I could do both and that there were more ways 2 get everything done but with the severity of the situation I'm going 2 have 2 ask for an early release for now...I may be back if she gets better...please keep her in your prayers...I love the wwe...I love all the talent that works there and most of all I love all the fans...thanks for always being so supportive...so this is me taking a bow and stepping out of the lime light right now to take care of my family...stick with me guys cause I will be back somewhere some how when this is all over...thanks for all your love and support and I'm sorry 2 be the bearer of bad news...thanks and good night my punks...stick with me ill see you soon

Thanks to Jason Kelley for sending this in..."I was reading about Ashley asing for her release. I believe this is fake. I believe her Myspace account may have been hacked. I did a comparison of this blog to some of her other blogs and it doesn't look legit to me.
1. In all her other blogs, she didn't use the number "2" in place of the word "to".
2. She said her daughter is sick. With what? It's not like she hasn't been sick since she was born.
3. In her last blog she said : "I'm gonna be training in Cackalacki at a ring near Greensville with Shane coming up so, hopefully we'll have some new moves to execute upon my arrival. "
Why would she just up and ask for her release if she's training to get back.
4th. She didn't capitalize any letters at the beginning of a sentence. In all her other blogs she would have a capital letter.
5th. She's never ended any of her other blogs with "Dirty Dirty". They either said "Ash" or "Dirty Diva". And why would she call herself Dirty Dirty if she has a child and cares about her?
6. No one even knew she had a daughter. There were no reports of it before."

1) She checks her myspace everyday, and her brothee has the pass word as well so if it was fake one of them would have said something by now.
2)In her previous blog she mentioned family issues
3)While rare there have been some occassions where she typed 2 instead of to
4)There'd always been rumors that she had a kid,
5)If her daughter is ill enough that she quit work, maybe it's too personal for her to share online just yet.
6)the lack of capitalization, use of 2 in place of to, and signing dirty dirty instead of dirty diva could be attributed to wanting to post something quick

The kid thing was new to me but i agree she'd have corrected it by now, It's odd though that she was the Daily Diva yesterday and the WWE site has nothing on it.
Maybe they'll release something today?
