Over the years what characters powers have progressed considerably.
Wolverine is obviously about a 1000 times more powerful than he was when he was created.
The Storm siblings are both much more powerful.
Iceman could throw snowballs in the beginning, now he can pretty much make anything needed.
Jean Grey was a run of the mill telepath, in her latest incarnations she is probably the most powerful.
Magneto and Prof X. seem to progressively get better with age.
Squirrel Girl seems to have some kind of luck probability.
Scarlet Witch is almost all powerful now.
The Hulk and Thing are both much stronger than they used to be.

Why can't you be like the writers and ignoring the stingers?

Peter David recently used them....
FNSM #21; stingers, and enhanced Spider-Sense.

I wonder if Wolverine can be killed at all?
Even if he was in right the center of an explosion and there's only his burned skull left he seems to grow everything back, now.
I like the character but it's really boring if you know that he can't be killed...

Wolverine has the one power that prevents being killed permanently .... POPULARITY.. if he loses that, then it could happen.

Sue Storm.
In the beginning, all she really was, was an Invisible Girl. Then she got force fields, which have progressed in power to the point where she is easily the FF's most powerful member, and arguabley one of the most powerful Marvel characters...

Johnny Storm and Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four. Perhaps you've heard of them?

Question: Am I the only one who doesn't mind the stingers? I mean, the story they were established in blew chunks, but the idea of it isn't real bad to me.

Didn't The Scarlet Spider have stingers in his web shooters?

Here's my take on the stingers....he did just fine for 45 years without them, so why include them now?

I don't like the organic take on his webs or his new the stingers. I used to like Spider-man coz his iconic mode of transport wasn't actually a power, it was “a toy” he made for himself.

Iron Man is pretty obvious.
especially post etremis virus arc. He is everywhere and his powers and abilitys can be fudged to god like capabilities.
He's a long way from a guy who was basically just a superhero in a steel suit.
I'd also like to add Human tech has increased dramatically in the Marvel Universe over the years. Now we can create advanced space ships, super sentinals and Iron man type hardware that seem every bit as advanced as Kree, Skrull or Shi'har stuff..empires that have been around for thousends of years.
Some of the SHIELD tech from Civil War really upped the anti on this I think, the capekillers and a sudden army of shield agents who can take out heros with ease. Not to mention the Nano tech that could depower anyone, including the hulk. Lastly, SENTRYs origin showing that he is a human super soldier attempt..These moments have piled up more and more.
Marvel U has always been a bit maybe alot more advanced than our world, but at some point the directions that have been taken make you beg to wonder how believable is the regular world where people still live much like our world.

Iron Fist is currently gaining a good amount of character progression with Bru and Fraction's run.
BKV's Strange was great for the character. (:csad:)
