I decided to give Alexander (the movie) a chance. I'm watching the final cut of it.

I didn't see the theatrical version cause of bad criticism so I didn't bother then.

Not to me. I dunno about any of you guys, but her appearance didn't bother me...okay...well just a tad in certain shots but still, I got over it pretty quick cause I looked past and beyond the way she looked in some of those shots and I thought she gave a great performance overall.

Someone told me that she and Ferral are the same age. Weird. So far, the movie is weird in some scenes...but I'm only watching it cause of Angie, Kilmer and Hopkins, but not for Ferral - he annoys me.

To be quite honest with you regarding Greek History and such... I've never been facinated regarding Alexander. Sure he...was great...a great man in his own right, in his own wisdom - A great king - perhaps...but whenever I hear the name Alexander in greek mythology and history... Olympia always comes to mind.

I probably would have preferred if the movie focused on her and her relationship to Phillip but Alexander could still be part of the main focus.

That would mean more work for Angie and more screen time with her. hehe

But seriously though, it would be more interesting if Angie were to go back to the role of Olympia ...with the right script...right direction, the right people to work with...

I mean even if its a different greek goddess instead of Olympia...either way, it could happen. She needs to do another epic - thus going back to the ancient greek times.

I liked Troy and I have the unrated version and I also have the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven. I don't have 300 yet but I will soon enough.

eh... I've always been interested in Greek history. Roman history... Egyptian History.

Alexander movie doesn't exist (sp?) for me... it's just bad movie. but I love Jolie in it.

Okay here are my thoughts.

1. I dunno why Stone bothered to do two edited versions of the same movie following the theatrical release when clearly, it was badly recieved by both the audience and the critics.

2. The movie was too long and whenever Farrel hugged all the screen time, it got to the point when I just didn't feel like watching it anymore and Farrel just bores me to death.

3. I could have done without the homo erotic scenes and throughout the second half of the movie, I felt weird inside. Not that I have anything against gays, I don't but these scenes should have been omitted. Not enough female presence, but Jolie, Kilmer and Hopkins were the only three who were great in the movie and I was only curious what kind of role Jolie had in it.

4. Could the movie have been better? Yes...without the homo erotic scenes and if it was focused solely on Alexander becoming a hero, becoming a man into his own, a great king who conqured most of the world - yes, it could have been heck of a lot better. What would have helped if it also focused on his relationships with Olympia and Phillip in depth.

5. If given the chance, Jolie and Kilmer could easily have shined through and even though they did the best they could with what they had to work with, even with the screen time they had, it still wasn't enough. But through the mist of everything, they both gave an exceptional performance. Farrel on the other hand, I admit, he tried but most of his scenes were so boring cause I could see Farrel than Alexander himself. Through Jolie and Kilmer, I saw only Olympia and Phillip. I thought the only time I saw Alexander, not Farrel was in his scenes with Jolie and Kilmer. I thought those scenes alone was where he shined through as Alexander - haha but still both the other two actors out did him.

6. I felt that a backstory of Olympia and Phillip was needed cause I wanted to have a better understanding why Olympia resented Phillip so much, and how they first met... but I liked the mother and son relationship.

7. Conclusion: My only gripe about this movie there was just too much of Farrel, movie was too long and it wasn't what I thought it would be. I know Stone tried...I give him that but Farrel was so terribly miscast - its not even funny.

Oh well... it wasn't that bad but it could have been way better than what it turned out to be.

Oh and one more thing, I could have watched Jolie's and Kilmer's scenes on youtube instead of wasting like 6 hours last night trying to get through the entire movie. Oh well. Lesson learned. heh

Hey, it doesn't hurt once and a while when it comes to doing a action flick. I've seen most of her films when it comes to dramatic ones and they're all decent.

Original Sin, Gia, George Wallace, her role in Alexander was at least dramatic (she was one of the good things in it as Olympias :o), The Bone Collector, Taking lives - though these ones are thrillers but they're good.

I still havn't seen Changeling, The Good Shepard and A Mighty Heart. These are dramatic films also. At least for Jolie, she has balance. She's done dramatic, thrillers, action, romance. Horror?? hmm. Don't think so.

i actually liked the tomb raider movies. i thought her english accent was really good

but it just seems like female actiony movies don't sell well or something. i thought both movies were entertaining. the first one had daniel craig and look where he is now; Bond. the second had gerald butler and he's Leonidas now, so if nothing else it has helped bolster the careers of some of hollywood's leading men now (its a stretch but sue me :) )

that being said, i'd prefer if Jolie came back to reprise the role. maybe if the scripts and locale etc entice her she'll come back. if someone got one of her kids to say they want her to do it she'd sign the contract in a heart beat.

i've heard rumors of fox taking the role over. i am not totally against it nor am i totally for it. she'll have to take some classes of course to tone up and get into the shape the role requires. lara croft is pretty toned up and in shape and the game shows she has the prowess of a gymnast so it wouldn't hurt for fox to learn some of that. and probably most important of all, she'll need to work with a dialect coach as well as her acting coach.

Great atempt Amund! Remember that you must always think of proportioning especially her lips are more volumptuos her eyes are larger and her forhead is a tad more narrow. But great job still. Good coloring too.:yay:

Thanks! Mmm i actually think her facial features are perfect.(they do look extra small in the pic tho) I actually made her lips bigger than the pic i referenenced it off of. And her eyes are perfect IMO. She doesnt have huge eyes, and in the pic, they wernet big. I did the eyes nose and lips perfectly IMO. Her head looks a little wide in the pic i took though, doesnt look like that up close.

That was one of my favorite proformances from Jolie. But I recently went back and rented Girl Interrupted and wow! She was so deserving of all the awards she got for that movie.

Too bad Angie Didn't get Best Actress award from Oscars.I didn't see all the other performances so I can't say if she deserved to win but I can certainly say she deserved her nomination. I felt her pain and turmoil....that is something only a good actress can pull off. :up:

A spokesman for Columbia Pictures says Angelina Jolie is back on the set of her latest movie after a brief trip to the hospital for a minor bump to the head.

Jolie sustained the injury Friday while filming an action sequence on Long Island in New York, where her upcoming thriller "Salt" is being shot.

Studio Spokesman Steve Elzer says the actress was taken to a local hospital, examined and released as a precautionary measure.

Elzer says she was back on the set Friday and production has resumed.

I never liked Halle's portrayal of Catwoman. Nor did I like the direction it took. If only Michelle did it and the direction was way better, we could have gotten what could have been a different version of Catwoman. Oh well. You snooze, you lose right?
