That's...actually pretty funny coming from a guy named gtkilla.

Actually, I just didn't find HRG shooting that guy all that 'badass'. =/ I thought it was pretty dumb, tbh..:o

Adam Monroe is:
Kensei. It was explained in a spoiler, and will be revealed in a few episodes.
So...
-Virus breaks out, mass infection.
EEW.
You always talk in absolutes and jump to conclusions based on incredibly small amounts of evidence, ya know that? Maybe you wouldn't be so continually disappointed and pissy if you stopped doing that, ya know?
Or if the show actually started delievering. Really, do we need to see Claire and cheesey-line of the week guy get revenge on a cheer leader? Or Maya get into yet another sticky situation that her powers gets her out of? I mean, seriously. That has to be about the fifth time this season she was captured and her powers got her out of it.
Maybe you are just being apologetic. There is nothing wrong with pointing out a flaw when it is there. It doesn't make me any less of a fan than you because I can see what is wrong.

Hmm...wow. Quite the ending and preview.
It clearly seems that Maya's power is what wiped out "93 % of the population". So is that what the big arc of this season is going to be? Sylar gets a new power that can cause mass destruction and they have to stop it? If so, major disappointment.
May powers? Why do say Maya's powers? Because she heading to NY?
I think it has moreso to do with the virus/testing the company and Mohinder are working on....

You weren't pointing out flaws in that post I quoted. You were jumping to conclusions based on little to no evidence that has nothing to do with what you just talked about. You want to complain about things you don't like on the screen so far, fine, but don't act like you know what's going to happen in future episodes.

HRG rocked it tonight. O man, he better not die. (Though he said that the Mr Nakamura painting was the first and his was the last in the set - I think? - so at least I think he is safe for a while....)
I hate West. I like Monica. I love Sylar - I think he's gotten more evil.
Mohinder is really pissing me off right now. I know he's not a badarse secret agent like HRG, but, seriously, dude, improvise - you can't call HRG every week whining about all your problems.
Right now it is feeling like a repeat of last season with tweaked circumstances and a different power that will cause a major catastrophe.Yeah...this is sorta redundant :csad:

I hope so, other wise I may just wait for the DVDs again. This show is tedious to watch and I am beginning to question why I am. For one or two good storylines a week while sitting through 3 or 4 crappy ones? And I am really sick of hearing "Its building up! be patient!". Episode 6, meaning that we are AT LEAST a quarter of the way through this season (and that is assuming it has a very generous, 24 episodes) and so far nothing. We saw Claire get revenge on a cheer leader and Hiro mope over a girl in feudal Japan. I mean, it gets to the point of do I really want to devote each week to watching the the incredibly slow build up to one or two good episodes per season or just read recaps on Wikipedia and watch the season finale? It seems like it would have the same effect.

I enjoyed this episode very much. I'm loving what's going on with Sylar and the twins. Monica continues to be awesome. I like how Clare is slowly putting trust into West and at the same time losing trust in her father, which is just setting up for disaster. Peter's storyline is starting to get interesting and I can't wait to see what's this Adam Monroe is all about. And I also can't wait to see the implications of Hiro's actions. There's more, but I can't think of anything else right now. Looking forward to next week.
I'll be back soon. Sylar's story seems interesting, though.
Yeah, but it also seems like a repeat of last year's. Sylar manipulates someone (Last year Suresh, this year the wonder twins) into trusting him and then steals powers and becomes a human weapon of mass destruction. Wackiness ensues.

Okay, I'm as annoyed by West as much as the next guy, but I'm tolerating it. It's obvious West has something up, and it's completely stupid to reveal it this early in the season.
But its been building up for a quarter of the season. EVERY episode so far, for a quarter of a season has been build up. Where is the pay off? Granted, they don't have to give the big season ending pay off this soon, but where is the little, early season story arc pay off? There is absolutely no sense of pacing. There wasn't last season either.
Like I said, either something has to happen with all these "build ups" or otherwise the show will be pointless. Why watch 20 episodes of "build up" episodes for 2 good episodes at the end of the year when I can get the just of it from Wikipedia and watch the last 2 episodes of the season?

Exactly, some people need to pipe down and be quiet. Far as I'm concerned the show is moving just the same as last year. Only now people use their powers more openly. You have to build to a climax. Its a tv show people. You're supposed to watch continuously. What? You want every episode to be a season finale? Let them tantalize you until they drop the big one on you. Earn the reward and quit being babies.
HRG was Cool, Maya turning to the dark side also cool, Kensei going all Lando Calrissian on Hiro SUPER COOL. I can't wait to see where these decisions take them. Heroes is still the coolest show on the planet despite a couple of you being impatient and hard to please.

#1 - HELL NAH!! @ Irish b*tch calling Roni a b*tch...Listen b*tch, Elle's gonna fry your ass next and make u even more unfortunate looking.
#2 - Cool @ the iPod Bob gave Monica to augment her power. Dude might actually be cool. I was ready drop kick a bald bastid for taking away one of the coolest powers on the show.
#3 - Hmmm @ this new threat that Bob needs Suresh for. Seems like this Adam cat was friends with Peter before he decided to be a worthless amnesiac...hit your head on the nearest blunt object, Pete...maybe that will jog your memory.:woot:
#4 - Ugh @ borin' ass Japan again...she ain't even that hot, Hiro...get over it. At least it's picking up now that Kensei is starting his career in villainry. Nice going, Cassanova.
#5 - Ha @ the cheerleader ownage. Head cheerleaders everywhere, beware...Claire is bad news. At least this head cheerleader survived.
#6 - Niiiiice @ HRG returning to his career as morally ambiguous.
#7 - Meh @ The apocolyptic future...again. Hopefully it'll be more interesting than the past has been for Hiro.
#8 - Niki is acting way too shady. Hello, Jessica.
#9 - Maya is oh-fically a pawn. Come on, Maya...you're making it difficult for me to like you after we started out so well. So what if it was primarily due to the fact that you're hot.

Well last time it was just a city...this time its the whole world! I think that the virus will be manipulated to target only ordinary humans. I think normal people are the 93% that are destroyed by the virus. Leaving all super humans left. I think that's the ultimate goal of the mystery villain this season.
I'm just speculating though. I could be wrong.

Its not annoyingly impatient when you go 6 episodes (again, a quarter of a season) with absolutely NO pay off at all.
Why does there have to be a pay off now? Is there a rule that nobody is telling me about?

Well last time it was just NY, this year it's the world. Pretty big difference if you ask me.
Last Year - .07% of the human population.

Exactly, there wasn't one until 2 episodes later. So calm the f*** down and just watch the damn show. :whatever:
Different scenario. Last year was the first season. Whole different ball game. Different dynamics, different style of writing required, and it comes with the territory that more build up is needed. Plus there was the mystery driving it. This season has no excuses like that. You have several already established characters who can be used in better ways then sitting in a pub or playing high school pranks.

When you have any show with teens, you're going to have to deal with angst, romance, rebellions, childish pranks, etc. That's the way it is. If you don't like it, fine. You don't have to. But don't write off everything because things aren't going the way you'd like them to go.

LOL, far from the best episode ever (Company Man will never be surpassed). But the show is picking up, without a doubt. I like how the writers are testing the patience of the fans and whatnot. Admit, once everything is revealed, you'll be like, "Wow, that was worth the wait!". Personally, if everything was just answered in such a quick manner, I'd probably lose interest, and so would most.

Yeah, but it also seems like a repeat of last year's. Sylar manipulates someone (Last year Suresh, this year the wonder twins) into trusting him and then steals powers and becomes a human weapon of mass destruction. Wackiness ensues.
Dude. You're a last minute bandwagoner who jumped in with the DVD's, and saw the whole story all at once, instead of living the season patiently, and discussing the various aspects in here, or with any other Heroes fan in-between episodes.
Just because you can't do the same this season, doesn't give you the right to whine about not being able to do the same. It might seem slow, but each and every character is a part of a larger story, and the larger story will not flesh out without the smaller arcs coming together. Besides, half the fun is in speculating what will happen - ask the "Lost" fans - why then should we accomodate you and give you the whole damned story all at once?
Go wait for the DVD's and stay out of here. :o

Okay, my reactions to the various storylines:
Clarie/West: And in today's "After School Special," we learn that revenge can be fun, especially against alcoholic teenage cheerleaders.:oldrazz:
Suresh/Monica/Bob: Come on, did anyone think Suresh was really going to inject Monica with that virus, especially when she is the best new character of the show? Also, nice to see that Bob has at least some moral character to him. Plus, it looks like Adam Monroe is the real big bad of the season. And come on, Niki is so in her Jessica persona now, especially since she was quasi-seducing Suresh.:woot:
HRG: Best storyline of the night by far. Once again, Noah solidifies his "badass" cred by making good on his threats to poor 'ol "Mr. Ditkovitch" from Spidey 2. Course that was obvious once he started speaking Russian. After all, considering how he thinks he's a dead man anyway, he really has nothing to lose. Plus we get more cryptic paintings (Perhaps Mohindir really is the one who shoots HRG as rumored). P.S. Wonder what the liquid man looked like?
Sylar/Maya/Alejandro: Call it a guilty pleasure, but I am soooo looking forward to Sylar, eventually, kicking Alejandro's ass...if only to get this story moving. At least they're over the boarder now and at least Maya didn't act like a complete wimp (although she sure didn't improve her IQ points any). And Sylar's explaining his entire plan to Alejandro in a take off of the 'ol "supervillain monologuing" knowing full well he couldn't understand a word of it...my hand's were rubbing to together like Mr. Burns.
Hiro/Kensei: Okay, I kind of figured that Kensei might have been working for "White Beard" all this time. But for some reason, I don't completely buy the idea that Hiro changed his mind in becoming a hero, and that because he saw Hiro and Yakeo, he goes back to his mercenary ways. Maybe it's because I never got the feeling that Kensei really loved Yakeo in the first place. Or maybe because I actually did root for Hiro when he not only showed Yakeo he had powers but that he told her he loved her as well. Or maybe it's because I just want Hiro back in the present. And yeah, guess we are seeing the origin of Adam Monroe here. BTW, I thought Issac could only paint the future, so how come we see a fight between Hiro and Kensei that could only have happened in the past from the looks of their garb?
Peter/Caitlin: Wow, after the drag-out of the amnesiac Peter stuck in Ireland, we get a very short storyline that bookends the episode. And it looks like we're going to get another "Days of Future Past" scenario out of the deal. Not only that, but it looks as though Peter was working with Adam Monroe (or is that the Peter from the future, and that's why he was able to find the note at that particular shop). Certainly his story has now gotten much more interesting.

Good Episode
HRG Being Badass once again and really being the Heros version of Batman. I guess that makes the Hatian Robin
Claire/West storyline is still boring. I think that West kid is a agent for the company or something. He likes using his powers and the only people who like using their powers on heroes are usually the villians.
I can't wait for Sylar to kill the wonder twins. Their whining about killing people is boring. Not even Maya's hotness can save them from being annoying.
It was obvious Kensei/Adam would want Peter on his side. Petes the most powerful guy in the heroes universe. His motives for wanting to spread the virus though is gonna have to be explained well. With him being immortal I doubt the virus could kill him.

Hmm...wow. Quite the ending and preview.
It clearly seems that Maya's power is what wiped out "93 % of the population". So is that what the big arc of this season is going to be? Sylar gets a new power that can cause mass destruction and they have to stop it? If so, major disappointment.
Nada if anything what wipes out 93% of the population will be related to the Shanti virus that has mutated.
Now they may tie Maya to that but its the virus not Maya that is the root cause especially since Maya's power is a small filed around her hardly world encompassing.
Heck they dropped hints towards it with Mohinder talking to Bob.
Nightwing.
10-30-2007, 07:47 AM
hmm. I thought it might be Sylar. definitely a biohazard symbol to Peter's right.
yeah the biohazard could be a result of the 'cure' that was in the painting. that might go out of control and infect not just the gifted but the normal too.
I also think if Suresh is the one to shoot HRG then itll be something to do with either the nightmare man placing him in a hallucination or HRG was responsible for the death of Suresh's sister.
i think Kensei will have a change of heart. I think he will come back and save them all and win the love of the Blacksmiths daughter. He just doesnt seem evil enough to me.
I also cant see Sylar getting the powers of Maja and Alejandro's purely because their story has gone on too long now and he couldve killed them ages ago like he did the shape shifter. Once his powers come back he will get the shapeshifting one however i think Maja maybe responsible for him being brought down...but then again she might be responsible for the evacuation of the city...
so many routes they can go in...i love this show
Best ep of the season, imho... we got positive progress on a half-dozen storyline... more progress than we've had in the past 5 eps for most of them, and then, if that weren't enough, we have a return to the 'holy crap endings' as one forum poster put it...
Both Hiro and Kensei have performed the deeds of Legendary Kensei, meaning they are BOTH the Kensei of legend... get it? Good.

It looks as if some sort of yellow light (the electricity perhaps) is coming out of her.

Sort of an average episode in my eyes. Half of it was good. Half of it was bad. The HRG and Suresh stories were good. The wonder twins and Claire stories sucked.
Wonder Twin story was great because of Sylar. Loved his manipulation of Maya.
