I want to upgrade my CPU from this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Pentium-E6320-Core2-1-86GHz/dp/B000O7IIAS/ref=sr_1_8/202-6617829-8501463?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1193391092&sr=8-8) to this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-3-0GHz-1333MHz-socket-Processor/dp/B000U5FX98/ref=sr_1_3/202-6617829-8501463?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1193391092&sr=8-3).

Is this possible, or is it dependant on what motherboard I have and/or other technical stuff that no-one really cares about?

Depends what your motherboard can take really, you need to do some research into it before you buy or else it might blow the processor (or worse everything!)

Another thing might be worth looking at is Motherboard and cpu bundles then you would know no compatibilty issues would arise
