Alright, I'm done. But only cause Spoons and Chuck asked. Good night.
Awesome, I feel special now. :o :woot:

Matt
11-12-2007, 10:39 PM
So just because I'm a landscaper, my opinion is not valid? And I thought you didn't insult people for what they are? Hmm. What a surprise. :whatever:

When did I say your job was something to be ashamed of? You are saying my opinion is not valid because I am not a writer. I was simply responding neither of you.

But seriously, done now...for you Spoons and Chuck :woot:

Alright, I'm done. But only cause Spoons and Chuck asked. Good night.

Heh, I've agreed w/ you the past couple of weeks but it's at the point where nothing's getting accomplished. Here's hoping that EVERYBODY is happy with the next 3 episodes

JustABill
11-12-2007, 10:39 PM
Yeah. You italicized and in a smart ass way you said ''Says the landscaper." If that doesn't read insult I don't know what does. But whatever I'm 22. I'm not ****ing fighting over a god damn TV show on the gd internet.

Colossal Spoons
11-12-2007, 10:40 PM
You guys just get caught up in the main story and that's all you want to see.

Don't you tell me what I get caught up in!

Unfortanately its alot of people fault tonight not just Matt's but who blames you guys it wasnt one of the greatest episodes and its made all you guys grouchy.:csad: I think you guys all should go to bed so you guys can calm down.

Heh, I've agreed w/ you the past couple of weeks but it's at the point where nothing's getting accomplished. Here's hoping that EVERYBODY is happy with the next 3 episodes

The thing is, certain members seem to be against stating an opinion that is negative of the show, and frankly I can't understand why. You'd think they are Tim Kring in disguise or something.

(not arguing with anyone, simply continuing my discussion with Spoons, I have walked away from the argument)

But seriously, done now...for you Spoons and Chuck :woot:

By bringing my job up in a negative manner, yes you did. I never said your opinion is not valid, I said you do not have a right to say that what you interpret from a show is fact, like you tried to say that it was a fact Matt was the father when it was only your belief that he was the father. Get it right or don't say it at all. I've said it numerous times that you can state your opinion, but to do it so it doesn't sound like it is something that everyone should abide by. And if you truly are done, then don't start the same stuff next week.

If that was the case then people here would be arguing with everyone with a negative opinion. But I guess you have not noticed that people are only arguing against some who thinks they are all high & mighty & that everyone must agree with their opinion & that their opinion is fact. Thats the difference here otherwise like I said everyone saying something negative would get *****ed at & here that is not the case. But hey you be happy with what you think.

You all do realize that bickering is pointless, right? At the end of the day, everyone is still going to have their opinions. All everyone is doing is making themselves flustered for absolutely no reason. Look at what the discussion has devolved into. We might be strong in our convictions, but, we have to remember that it's just a small discussion about a tv show.

This episode was good (I like that we got the backstory on what happend to Peter & Nathan after the events of "How to Stop a Exploding Man") (Bell was Smoking hot & Sexy as Elle) (The Meeting between Adam & Peter was very well played First he befriends him , helps heal Nathan . )

The only thing that sucked in this episode was DL's lame Death .

This episode was so unbelievably bad, I think it may have ruined Heroes for me.

- What happened to Sylar??? Remember in preview Tim Kring??? It said where did sylar go??? Well where the **** DID he go?? I suppose he just climbed down that manhole and wound up in the Amazon.

- Niki is a ****! She gets DL killed ( the most pathetic way to die I've ever seen in TV or movies). Please just kill her!!!

- Why didn't you just make DL die from the bullet wound??? It made more sense then having som greasy douchebag come up and shoot him. And what ultimate sacrefice did DL make??? Huh Tim??

- What happened to Matt and his wife and the baby??

- How did Suresh and HRG start planning to take down the company??? And when did they move to California??

- Phffft...WTF twins.

The only thing is episode cleared up is how Nathan healed from his burns. WOW. I wasted 1 hour of my life to see how Nathan healed. Way 2 Go Tim!!!

This show has gotten so bad I actually hope it gets cancelled due to the writer's strike.

And don't bother replying to my rant unless you agree with me.

GNR

It amazes me how stupid DL's death was.

I know alot of people would enjoy the adventures of DL Hawkins saving people and pleasing his son instead of having Hiro be annoying in the past or the twins trying to get to the border for 8 eps.

Way to drop the ball.As much as I love David Anders, truly great addition to this show,I'm not getting my hopes up.Chances of him biting it or written off by season's end are pretty high considering the spoilers.

One thing that is great about living on the West Coast is that I miss all pointless fights. :D

But this episode was alright.

-I liked the beginning. The effects of peter and Nathan were well done. Any scenes with brothers are my favorite, they always have been, maybe cause I have a brother.

- Elle was so hot. I never knew Krsten had such a great body.

-More twins? God. there story better go somewhere or sylar better kill them off.

- Back to nikki/jessica? My least favorite part of the show! and to top it off they killed off DL! What the hell! They bring him back, build an episode around him and then kil him just so nikki can feel guilty? :cmad:

But next week looks great  Ando and Hiro look like there teaming up again! YES! :D

Alejandro and Mya- Well we now know the Wonders twins background and guess what? They are still boring! sooner Sylar hits them in the head with a blunt object the better.

Nathan- He was healed by Adams blood, how anticlimatic. Also where the hell was Matts back story.

Nikki And DL- DL died very lame. Nikki suddently went crazy again. They should of just left it as her being cured from last season. They are dragging this split personality thing out and its been done to death already. If they can't think of anything intresting to do with the character let her leave the show.

Haitian- I thought he went rogue last season. Suddenly he turns up at the company and everyones fine. Did Thompson get killed before he reported it.

Overall weakest episode of the season.

This show has gotten so bad I actually hope it gets cancelled due to the writer's strike. yep. i agree.

It already explained why Nathan kept seeing the burnt guy when the Nightmare Man trapped him in his mind. DL could've just as easily died at Kirby Plaza, especially with the way they killed him and Adam's escape could've been done in five minutes of flashbacks as opposed to an hour long episode. The only good part about this episode was Elle's development.

I'd buy that if the guy stepped around the corner and pulled the trigger but instead he walked up to him slowly, DL had time to tell him to lay off, and then he shot. It would've made far more sense if he aimed at Nikki and DL stepped infront of her.

I don't know if I would have bought that either. DL has already demonstrated that he can phase others too. I would think that a dude holding gun would cause him to subconsciously turn on his powers before he pulled the trigger. Kinda like Sue Storm putting her hands up and automatically making a shield when threatened.

DL didn't have the most powerful ability, but it was damn sure well suited to prevent him from getting harmed. He really shouldn't have gone out in such a Mundane way. Perhaps if he was high on opium and couldn't control it I could accept it, but dude was fully alert and well practiced with phasing! I mean after getting shot by Linderman you'd think he'd be on his guard! I know I would have been! :cmad:

Each building they try Maya will be detained/beat up/nearly raped, etc and use her powers to escape only to have them shut off by Aljeandro and her cry in a ridiculously melodramatic manner. Sylar will say something semi-threatening/ominous every other building :cwink:

I fear that Maya/Alejandro might be the Sanders family of this season. Dragged out storyline, repetitive, weak connection to the others until the last minute, and an unsatisfying payoff in the end.

The math (apparently) doesn't add up.

Elle = 24. She started the fire when she was 6. 24 - 6 = 18. The fire was 18 years ago.

Claire = 16 last year. So this year, she's still only 17 at the oldest.

Aside from Elle, I have mixed feelings about "4 Months Later". I thought the way the writers offed DL is quite lame, esp. since it's a death that is preventable (DL can phase, you know). However, Adam intrigues me since he came off as a good guy (to Peter), but we all know that he must be harboring a deep resentment ever since Hiro "betrayed" him 400 years ago. Also, the Company felt that he's a threat, that's what they locked him up. What exactly does he mean by "Saving the world", anyway?

I did feel cheated that they took the scenes from the next episode as this episode's teaser, like Hiro & Ando at the funeral, and flashes of Claire/HRG/Matt. It sucks that there're only 3 more eps to go; I don't think we will see enough of Kristen Bell before Dec. 3rd, but probably more scenes of Wonderless Twins (ugh).

He saw the guy coming, and told him to let it go or something. He didn't, however see the gun, and considering the dude raised his arm, and blasted him, I'm guessing he wasn't ready.

A fist is a lot easier to dodge than a point blank bullet.

Though his death was ridiculous. I would have been absolutely fine with him going out heroically at kirby plaza. Instead he goes out like a b***h in a night club. o.O

I liked the Peter/Nathan/Adam parts of this episode. But it just seems like so much of those 4 months is still missing. They completely ignored Parkman, Mohinder, Kaito and Ando, and Sylar.

You are not the only one. I think "4 Months Later" is actually better than many of the episodes in S2, but that just goes to show that this season is rather average compared to S1, and most of the new characters (except for Elle) are ho-hum. I hope when Heroes return from the strike, they will correct themselves and improve the writings by alot. Otherwise, this sophomore slump might snowballed into something worse.

I thought S1's season finale had Nikki finally become courageous, but she just saw her husband murdered and could not muster any will to retaliate, instead slump to the ground, defeated and spiritless. DL told Nikki that she's the stronger one; I think he was mistaken.

The math (apparently) doesn't add up.

Elle = 24. She started the fire when she was 6. 24 - 6 = 18. The fire was 18 years ago.

Claire = 16 last year. So this year, she's still only 17 at the oldest.

If she was an older 6, and is now a really young 24, and Claire is a late 17, it COULD work.

But I'm not gonna venture to guess either way.

:cmad:

I can tell you one thing...this never would have happened to Kitty Pryde.

Since by the time you hear a gunshot, even from 100 feet away, the bullet has already hit whatever it was gonna hit, I can understand that he couldn't react quickly enough. I think it would have been more believable if he was shot in the back, or stabbed in the back, or the gun was concealed. Plus you'd think that after seeing your hand go through a guy, you'd be a little freaked.

I suspect it was the writers' way of being poetic. He dodged a bullet, so to speak, and Nikki's condition put him in the same position again.

But yeah, it totally did not work for me at all.

So basically - from Adam coaching Peter - we now know that Peter, Adam, and Claire are all immune to the Haitian's mindwipe.

Like Adam said, the brain just has to repair itself.

Which is supported by the fact that Adam said they would have killed him if they knew how. My guess is that his healing abilities are also intact with the Haitian.

Makes me wonder about his regeneration. If he's cut exactly down the middle, would he double? Plus where is the extra mass coming from?

Last night's episode was disappointing, felt rushed and still we didn't get somethings answered. Like what happened to Sylar after he was stabbed with the sword? D.L.'s death was cheap. I mean come one a gun shot? He couldn't phase through it? In the description for this episode, it said "D.L. makes the ultimate sacrifice." Obviously not true. Adam is immortal and can heal people with his own blood? My god that's awesome. I really also liked Elle in this episode. She's a great character and Bell does a great job with portraying her. There's just three episodes left, I look forward to them but I hope they're better and not bad as this episode.

I love Elle's reaction to shocking people.

I thought it was great too.

I'm enjoying this season. I'm interested to see where the Adam (very subtle, btw) and Hiro thing goes. Especially with Adam controlling the most powerful Hero.

I can't wait for them to meet again but in the present time. Should be great.

Never thought Hiro would attempt to go back in time and save his dad. He's gonna **** something up, watch.

Yeah, I think he might do that. And then maybe we'll see who is under the hood.

All I meant is that he can be killed. Somehow, I'm sure the show will show that eventually.

We'll have to wait and see then.

I didn't like the Niki thing. It makes sense that that's how she ends up with the company but why did Jessica dissapear only to have another personality emerge when Niki wasn't even in danger or anything? And D.L. gets shot again?

So can we all agree that Mama Petrelli's ability is persuasion? I guess it isn't as strong as Eden's but she definitely used some kind of persuasion power on Heidi.

I think this episode should've at least address what happened to Matt that night, and how he survived 4 bullet wounds on his body, and how he found out about the paternity of the baby (hence the reason he divorced his wife, right?). I don't think they really needed to explain the twin's origin; we already knew that they were on the run after they discovered their powers and killed many people. They didn't need 2 prolong scenes to explain all that.

I can't remember, but wasn't it implied Claire survived the fire as baby because of her power? If that's the case, she manifested back then.

I imagine the anti-aging is a conscious effort by Adam. Certain life threatening emergeances might boot the power up automatically, but certain more subtle things (like aging) might take a more refined manipulation. I think this is the aspect of the power that requires practice and effort.

It also falls into line with Peter using his healing to restore his memory. There's no reason why Peter shouldn't have just healed automatically as soon as the Haitian wiped him clean. Adam had to tell Peter to concentrate on healing it. So while certain things like being stabbed, shot, or crushed, might fire up the healing power as the body's survival reflex, Claire and Adam probably have to work on maintaining youth by manipulating their bodies.

Of course, watch Kring shoot holes through my theory next episode when he chooses to reveal Adam doesn't want to be young forever. But if he does that, he brings up some inconsistences in the show.

That's what Claire assumes, but it was never said that was true. Meredith simply assumed that Claire was dead and got out of there.

I highly doubt it's a conscious effort. That means that Adam must always focus on staying young, and if he gets knocked out/goes to sleep, he'll revert back to his 'old' form. I strongly believe it's just a side-effect of the abilities. The body can't begin to fall apart because it heals itself...hence no wrinkles, gray hair, etc.

Xplicit Content
11-15-2007, 03:19 PM
Not really. Aging happens as a result of damaged cells, no? All Adam really needs to do is wake up in the morning, and for about a minute, focus on "maintaining" the cells in his body. If he just stays on top of keeping them in good shape, he doesn't always need to concentrate on it. It's just like waking up in the morning and feeding the fish. He wakes up and "feeds" his body with his power to keep it youthful...almost taking sips from the fountain of youth.

And the cells obviously won't revert to dust the second he stops thinking about it...they've been in a constant state of being "rebooted"...they won't just immediately jump into being centuries old. I imagine when Adam decides he wants to grow old, all he'll have to do is stop healing his cells and just start growing old gradually like everyone else.

And I don't really remember the episode, but it seems unlikely Claire will be able to survive a house that was completely burned without a scratch. Wasn't she found in the house after it was already burned down? The smoke inhalation alone would've killed her.

I don't think that it would work as a "conscious effort" type thing. His healing would regenerate it cells automatically and there for not age. I do believe that Claire and Adam have the exact same ability. I believe they are going to be polar opposites, like Peter and Sylar.

By the same token, in the movie Unbreakable, the main character (played by Bruce Willis) didn't even realize that he was invincible until it was suggested to him by Samuel L. Jackson's character. People are always taking their health for granted.

That said, I still agree that her powers didn't manifest until Six Months Ago.

It's a valid point, as I doubt Claire went through childhood without falling down and scraping her knee and whatnot...and I admit I never considered that. But who knows, that can probably be explained through the trauma of being burned alive. I wish my memory of Company Man wasn't so fuzzy and I could remember how Claire was found. Her mom always assumed she died in the fire, which led me to believe the Company either went in there and saved her during the fire, or Claire was literally in the house when the fire happened and wasn't found until after the fire was put out...and it's hard to believe someone can manage to stay inside a burned down house.

It's just a theory on my part. We'll have to see how it all plays out. But think about it, once Adam closes a wound, he doesn't need to always concentrate on keeping it closed. Once the wound is healed, it's healed. Same could be said for the aging. Once he heals the "time damage" done to his cells from the previous day, he doesn't need to always concetrate on keeping the cells healed...he's already healed them, same as he doesn't need to maintain his already healed wounds. Plus, there's the Peter situation...Peter always had Claire and Adam's healing...he shouldn't have needed to concentrate on healing his memory if the cell regeneration was completely automatic.
