Yup. We in England got the first showing at 00.01. What a film it was. The Twins or Wheelie were no where near as annoying as I feared, there was FAR more comedy in this one compared to the first(although everyone seemed to love it) and Prime is the baddest of asses. There are no one sided fights in this film with regards to Prime.

Tell me something. Is Sideswipe underused in the movie? After seeing the new TV spot where they show most of his scene with Sideways, i feel he's even more badass than Ironhide but from what i know, the only fight he has center stage is in Shangai. Hope not. Easily the best of the new bots. And what can you tell us about the bike sisters/Arcee combo?
And as a final question, what can you tell us about the music score in the movie? Most people that have heard the score complain that it too generic and missing the thematic force of the first. I loved it but would like to know how it works in the movie itself and if any music from the first score was used.

I think it's more of a philosophical use of weak...as in weak for siding with and defending humans

I keep hearing the final act is weak and for some reason get the feeling that The Fallen isn't going to be nearly as awesome as he should be.

Not to mention I don't recall reading a single early review yet that mentioned him in a positive manner, let alone at all.

Erm...well The Fallen justs sits on Mars for most of the film and doesn't do a great deal at the end. Starscream has far more dialogue and feels like a much better character. His voice also seems closer to his toon voice as well. Devastator was pretty useless.

Sideswipe is only used in Shangai and his fight with Sideways is his only bad ass moment. Arcee and the sisters never combine and are useless. The score is almost the same as the first one aside from the new LP song. It still managed to give goosebumps.

Fair enough but in regards Devs was never stated to be a badass...in the film, it should have been common sense to use him in a really badass fight since a transformer of that size really is and should be a badass. Oh well, I'm sure I'll enjoy the movie regardless.

First of all there is no major threat in the movie and that is manily because Prime is so hard...which for me is a trade off I am prepared to accept since his creaming in the last film.

Secondly...I can't justify Devs destruction...we built a big ass laser and hey it worked. As for the Fallen though, he entered the last fight very late and so was in a rush to get his machine moving...due to this he didn't fight any other robot aside from Prime....and he had previously stated that "only a Prime can defeat me" so when their fight began it was always going to be one sided.

Yes he is a descendant of the Original Primes, Jetfire was honoured to see him as well. Megatron is no relation it would seem, he is just a servant of the Fallen.

The Decepticon Protoforms came from space...it is unknown what planet (although Saturn would be the logical choice). I assume they didn't help earlier because they weren't needed...Megs has pretty much everything under control till Egypt.

Yeah in some werid ass ship which seems to have forestry in it, dwells Starscream, the Fallen and some pods which contain baby Decepticon's that keep dying. Best not to ask too many questions and just go with it LOL.

The score is something i honestly don't remember at all. The theme from the first film ( autobot protoforms coming down to earth, you know the one) is used but i honestly don't remember anything about it.

Sideswipe pops up throughout the film. He's got a couple of lines. You find out absolutley nothing about him at all. He just stands there looking cool as ****.

i dont think jolt even says anything... the only thing he does is put optimus and jetfire together at the end apart from that he looks good but is an obvious last minute addition

I would have been fine with wheeljack not getting much screen time as long as he had that one thing to do. Wheeljack to me isn't a character that demands that much screen time but he was the scientist type that would do that sort of thing. But i guess im ok with all the characters not being the same... after all this isn't 1986.

Sentinal was awesome in Megatron: Origin, well awesome until he met Megatron anyway, but he lost that fight more so from over confidence. Overall I thought he was great though, and Nova made for a great bad guy recently. His fall from grace so to speak was very interesting. Would have loved a mention of either, but saw the movie today, they dont get a mention.

I had this same argument with my friends after the movie. I'm assuming its mainly a Decepticon protoform that copied the same type of aircraft.

The Decepticon Protoforms came from space...it is unknown what planet (although Saturn would be the logical choice). I assume they didn't help earlier because they weren't needed...Megs has pretty much everything under control till Egypt.

Yeah in some werid ass ship which seems to have forestry in it, dwells Starscream, the Fallen and some pods which contain baby Decepticon's that keep dying. Best not to ask too many questions and just go with it LOL.

The weird ass ship is the Decepticon's ship called The Nemsis. Towards the end of the credits you'll see Megatron waiting to be fix and he walks upon a large pool of protoforms, he then commands them to rise.

Off Topic but I read some other users review of this movie and how they think Terminator Salvation is better than this I really LOL. They bash this movie because of the humor, story, characters and action scenes but in my opinion and some others agree Terminator had the same problems. In my opinion Terminator Salvation was worse. That movie had a weak/ lame story, no character development, useless characters, awful dialouge, WTF momments ex How did john jump out of a plane into the ocean and manage to find and enter a submarine UNDERWATER!!!???? And forced Romantic relationship between Blair and Marcus. And please the action scenes were FORGETTABLE I had to think hard to find one that was decent and the only one that comes to mind is the short fight with the CG Arnold and the ending was lame. Aleast in Transformers you will remember the Forest battle if nothing else even if you hated the movie.

I am not saying Transfomers 2 is the best movie ever or anything but I enjoyed it way more than I did Terminator and I am 21 as well so I am not so kid was ADD or something lol. But hey everyone is entitled to their opinion so its all good whatever bloats your boat. Look at my review of the movie on the previous page I gave Transformers 2 a 3 out of 5 stars.

Yeah... ummm... I really tried to like it guys, it just didn't work out for me.

1. I will stick with the positives... Optimus Pime shined through (even though it was so forced it was sad).

Yes, the Pretenders are from the 80's comics, so I doubt it was a T3 rip-off.

I thought the Pretenders were more of a outer shell that shed away to reveal the transformer. This 'imagining' (and I use that word loosely since the idea has already been 'imagined') was almost directly the same as the effect used in T3, where the metal itself appears to become organic and fabric...

There in lies my point. It didn't really bother me either. But it was more of an obvious sign that they abandoned a perfectly good idea in favor of a more popularized current day version.

Production/directors do things like that for the sheer value of making it look more like what they think the audience wants to see... Just sad they didn't have more confidence in the more original idea.

He raises his arms and says "My soldiers, arise.". I left once the credits started so maybe they showed that scene during the credits and I just didn't stick around to see it.

No...Will Smith was not in Philadelphia, Denzel Washington was and I believe he did get nominated for an Oscar, but didn't win.

Will Smith had done 'Six Degrees of Separation' , which he did receive critical acclaim for...he then did Independence Day, which got him recognized, and that and Bad Boys did make him a movie star

I'm with Bay. To quote Megan: "People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting.", so then my question would be, what the hell does she expect? This is just a typical summer blockbuster and she should be casted in different types of movies where she can show her acting abilities (if she is good of course..) if this is what she wants.

The Transformers were never movies for Oscars (except special effects maybe) and critics will never appreciate such type of movies because most of them are bunch of nerds who always love to criticize everything. I loved this movie because I had alot of fun watching it. I like different types of movie too, where it takes alot of acting abilities and all, the type of movie critics love, but I still can't stop enjoying Transformers because it's PURE ENTERTAINMENT!!

as much as I agree, in her defense I do think she gets knocked on her acting a lot and what she said may have been a (misguided) attempt at defending her stance

I mean if everyone is telling you that "you didn't do much acting in transformers, you better thank your lucky stars that you're pretty."
The simplest response would be, that the movie isn't about acting.

Director Michael Bay has slammed his own movie, calling Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen "crap" and blaming its shortcomings on the writers' strike.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Bay admits that they "made some mistakes" while filming the critically panned sequel.

"The real fault with [Transformers 2] is that it ran into a mystical world," he explains. "When I look back at it, that was crap. The writers' strike was coming hard and fast. It was just terrible to do a movie where you've got to have a story in three weeks."

He adds, "I was prepping a movie for months where I only had 14 pages of some idea of what the movie was. It's a BS way to make a movie, do you know what I'm saying?"
