12-28-2007, 09:11 PM
Sorry 'bout your luck MSU fans...but don't feel bad; it's only a matter of time until Lloyd goes out with a whimper.
Have to say that although I'm extremely disappointed in Hoyer, it was still a great game to watch.
Never gave up in every game, hung with every team.
We did pretty good, especially since BC was a #2 team in the season at one time, and since 2 of our best defensive players were gone for the game.
What saddens me is that every single player on MSU played their heart out. Except Hoyer. Seriously, some of those passes looked so awful, you could think he was trying to throw the game away :csad:
Very impressed with what the D did last night. VERY impressed. Stepped up, and kept us in the game the whole time.
Although the officiating did suck... on that bomb from Ryan, the WR for BC clearly pushed off the defender. Stunned to not see a flag on that.
Also, I saw at least 5 holding calls on #67 for BC, and on Ryan's first TD pass, Baldwin got pushed from behind.
Not trying to complain, just saying that the Big 12 refs suck :o
CalebYourMaster
12-29-2007, 03:54 PM
MSU's defense was pretty good for missing 2 great players...and Ryans bomb down the field to (i believe) Gunnel was crap cuz he pushed off on one of our players to get open(the score to get them the 24 points)
i was really pissed when i saw that
what was killing us is that we couldnt run every play and when we needed a couple good passes it always seemed like BC got a couple good int's....*sigh*
im really proud of MSU either way...we should be a force next year
MSU just stopped running, when BC was scared when Jehuu was on the field
Next year Hoyer will be better. This should be a wake-up call for the young man.

Florida is doing alright. Their defense is sucking it up. Their offense is doing alright. They've done fine when they're not starting inside their own 5. We've caught a few lucky breaks, and we're lucky to have the score only 21-14. Florida will hopefully score on their opening drive, and the momentum should shift their way.

Michigan surprised me. I figured they were in for a beating, but they showed up big today. Whenever you win a game where you're minus-4 in turnovers, you made some serious plays on both sides of the ball. I'll take it.
I wanted him out, and I'm excited for the Coach Rod era to begin, but I really appreciate what Lloyd Carr brought to the program. I'm glad he was able to go out with a W.
The Missouri-Arkansas game surprised me too. 21/105 ain't bad, but I expected McFadden to bring that wood. The last time I saw him, he had that wood right thur, baby. He was supposed to have got that wood right thur.

Im happy for the seniors and Carr. I nearly cried when Hart lost that second fumble. He is a great football player, and put Big Blue on his shoulders the entire season. Congrats guys. You make me proud as a Michigan fan.
Thankfully Tebow finally realized that its about wins, not just individual accolades. He couldnt win the game when it was on the line, and until he becomes a leader and not just a QB, he wont be able to take his team from behind. That said, Henne, way to go out man. I never wanted to lose hope in him, and Im glad that Florida underestimated him.
You are a good man, Lloyd Carr, and Im glad your guys sent you out in a great way.

Illinois ****ing sucks.
Tradition? The Rose Bowl tradition is Big Ten CHAMPS vs PAC-10 CHAMPs. The Rose Bowl got first pick after the title game and this is what they came up with? It should have been Georgia and 'SC.
Illinois played one dimensional football that played right into 'SC's hands. Oh and this game was a horid display of sportsmanship on both sides.

The Rose Bowl committee is a group of inept, stupid, corrupt, vile, horrible, disgusting human beings that opted to do what is best for their own foolish, belief that their bowl should place "tradition" over the interest of their fans.
The Big 10 is equally as bad and is. Their own greed is what is preventing what isbest for their sport, for their players and for their fans - their consumers.
Georgia should be playing USC right now - instead we got a team whose talent doesn't compare well to Appalachian State and whose coaches, while incredible, are powerless to do anything.

My thoughts from today's action
-I thoroughly enjoyed the Michigan/Florida game. Nice for Lloyd Carr to end his career with a victory, and Florida really isn't as good as Teblowers (Herbstreit?) have said. Niether was it proven given how badly their secondary was destroyed by Henne today.
-Hawaii/Georgia game I thought would've been hilarious had Hawaii upset the clearly superior Bulldogs. Oh well.
-What is Juice Williams's first name? It seriously can't be "Juice" right? Loved Musburger and Herbstreit attempting to secretly vouche for USC's right as the best team in the country, but didn't pull it off effectively.
Edit: I looked it up, Juice Williams is his real name.

Williams' first name is Isiah, though I've never it heard it used by anyone.
Full given name is Isiah John Williams ... Goes by "Juice"

That's the thing though. Everyone is running around saying "oh big ten/pac-10 tradition blah blah" when really it isn't. The spirit of the Rose Bowl is best from of the east vs. best from the west. Now because the best Big Ten team is in the championship game; logically it should be Georgia and USC. And you're right. Both Georgia and USC got very favorable match ups.
