I watched the last 20 Canadian games, which they all won and the one I miss...
Well makes things interesting, it was getting boring winning every game for the last three years.

Hopefully Sweden play better in the semifinal than they did against the Czechs, otherwise I doubt they'll reach the final.

Phh... no confidence in your team?

Russia 1 Sweden 2 OT

Sweden sails on undefeated into the finals where they could potentially face the undefeated Americans or the Canadians looking for revenge.

Canada vs USA in about an hour.

I was actually happy to see Sweden score, cause nothing beats sudden death overtime.

I'm liking that the next four world juniors will be in North America (2009 Ottawa, 2010 Canada TBA, 2011 America TBA, 2012 Canada TBA).

A shame Sweden couldn't play as good as they did in the third period the entire game. It could have been 6 - 0 or something then. Well, at least we got a medal for the first time in some years. But what the hell is it that the next four juniors are playing in North America? Doesn't seem fair to me.

Well it kind of actually is.
After successful tourneys in Winnipeg, Halifax and Vancouver it was decided that Canada will host a tournament every three years. Every time its in Canada they break all kinds of attendance records. Everywhere else they only sellout if its the host country playing a game (or if its 2 hour drive from Canada like in Grand Forks in 2005).

2009 is Canada's turn to host after being in Sweden and Czech Republic. 2010 was supposed to be Switzerland but they pulled out since they didn't want to potentially regulated on home ice. Canada was the only country that came to the rescue, any other country could have made a bid. America won the 2011 bid and then 2012 is Canada's turn again, and they'll be back in 2015. Any country could have went for 2010.
