View Full Version : Sports Predictions for 2008
-MSU will beat Michigan... both times in college basketball.
-Rams finish 8-8, fire Linehan and staff. Jackson still considered strongly for MVP when Bulger gets hurt early in the season again.
-Detroit Pistons make NBA Finals after a tough 7-game series with the Celtics.
-Detroit Red Wings win their first Stanley Cup since 2002 over the Flyers.
-Detroit Tigers defeat the Red Sox in a 7-game ALCS on the way to a World Series win over the Dodgers.
-Dick Rod struggles his first year at U-M. Installing the spread takes a while, so I say by 2009 he'll be fine.
-Kobe Bryant gets traded during the offseason to a team no one expected to make a deal.
-MSU doesn't make a bowl, finishes 6-6.

The Miami Hurricanes bring an infusion of talent and stability at QB and begin ascending to being an elite program once again.
North Carolina advances to another Final Four and takes the big prize.
Pat Riley will engineer a trade that results in the Miami Heat's play no longer being a contributory factor to the development of peptic ulcers.
The Florida Marlins will again give me no reason to pay nothing but casual attention to baseball.
Darren McFadden forgoes his senior season and enters the NFL Draft
...and he brings that wood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBXR-46HpOg) with him.

I thought it over and had the Tigers win the division and get into the ALCS. Dontrelle is a wild card, I think he can turn around and at least be a very good, possible be even more. Plus that offense...
I was just joking, it's all good

My only predection that is not mabe with my heart, is that the Celtics will have a damn fine season but, their lack of a bench and the fact that this current roster has not had time to gel will only get them so far this year. I do not see the Celtics winning the title this year. Next year though, I'm predicting the Celtics will have one of the best seasons in NBA history.

They're having one of the best seasons in NBA history right now. Both the 93-94 Rockets and the 96-97 Bulls had better starts than the 07-08 Celtics though.

Florida Basketball does not repeat, loses in Sweet Sixteen round.
Florida Football cruises to a 12-1 record, falling to only Georgia. They make the National Championship and win.
Pats finish with a Super Bowl Ring.
Celtics take it all too.
LSU edges Ohio State 24-21.
That's it for now.

U-M beats everybody but Tosu, who has one loss already when they play. :(
Charlie Weis, Mangino, Tom Amstutz (Toledo), and Friedgen all pose nude as a fund raiser for diabetes.
Vikings make the playoffs next year as a wildcard after drafting Chad Henne.

By how many games? One? Two at the most? It doesn't get much better than what the Celtics have done so far. And if the 93-94 Hawks and record holding Bulls are the only teams that have started better, I'd say they are in some pretty elite company.

The Celtics haven't won anything yet. If they go 79-3 and loose in the first round of the playoffs, I wouldn't say they had one of the best seasons in NBA history.

Well yeah that was your prediction. But history favors them, those Hawks and Bulls teams like you mentioned won the title those years, as well as a few other teams that had similar starts, can't think of them off the top of my head.
I wouldn't think one more year aged on the Big 3 would equal a better record or a better chance of breaking the Bulls' record than they have right now.
-The Rams win more than 3 games.

- Bill Parcells stepping in will at a MINIMUM, DOUBLE the Dolphins win total from last year :)

- The Boston Celtics will not play one game in June 2008.
- Clemens and Bonds will walk away from capital hill laughing at United States congress for failing to be able to pin anything to them.....
- Tom Brady will admit to media members that as a lad in San Francisco he engaged in many homosexual acts and has truly used Giselle as a cover for his sexuality.
- Rich Tocchet and Pete Rose will throw one hell of a March Madness Bracket party.

Not if he brings in UFA Jesse Chatman and his "family"!
and if you're going to shoot for the ridiculous 3000 total yards mark, why not just make it 30 TD's to boot!

Bucs finish 11-5, go to the round before the Superbowl and lose out. We got a decent draft next year and with Cadilac comming back, we should be able to stomp the divions pretty easy.

Cadillac hasn't done anything since his rookie season. They are better off relying on Graham as the starter.
Also with the Saints and Panthers healthy i'd imagine the NFC South wouldn't be as much of a cake walk. Not that the Bucs wont win the division or go 11-5 but they'll certainly have more of a challenge.
