The poster who broke the news seems to be someone with credible sources, so I believe it's real.

It's pretty badass if you ask me.

so does this finally mean that all the decepticons "died" in the first film and meaning that barricade died as well?

"are all dead" implies that all of the decepticons are dead minus starscream...

...hmm we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm skpetical of what that guy was saying. That cover he posted is from a film-related miniseries IDW is planning to do. I believe its call "The Search for Starscream."

It's been retitled 'The Reign of Starscream'. So this is a sequel to their adaptation of the film (where Barricade died). Expect this to be ignored by the film sequel.

Yeah, its just a re-do of the issue 5# "The New Order" pose from the original marvel comic, nice touch but doesn't beat the original IMO.

From what I hear its not exactly a sequel to the movie but rather a follow up set inbetween TF1 and TF2, it's going to be a 4 part series about the autobots trying to find SS, whom is on the loose and trying to make contact with any surviving decepticons on earth. This is just speculation at the moment so take it with a grain of salt.

Those comics were awesome. Hope they make a sequel inspired fromt that. Seeing the decapitation of Optimus Prime and Shockwave in possesion of his head (to keep Prime alive without his body, the head was connected to all kind of ****) was shocking to me as a kid. If I remember correctly the only surviving autobot found the dinobots to help defeat the decepticons.

Would be cool if Transformers 2 opened with one or moore autobost coming to earth just to find that Starscream or Shockwave blew all the Autobots to pieces and that Optimus had his head cut of and was captured.

I believe it was Rachet, and he formed an unholy aliance with Megatron whom had lost his leadership of the Decepts to Shockwave, it was the best saga of the entire comic series.

Book Description
When Megatron falls in battle, Starscream assumes the role of Decepticon leader on Earth. Mustering his surviving allies, he sets out to put his own plan in motion. But before he can do that, he'll need to retrieve a fallen comrade, carry out a plan of revenge, and leave the Earth to meet up with a major player in the Decepticon army. Picking up where the film ended, The Reign of Starscream also reveals the fates of other surviving film characters, as co-writers Chris Ryall and Chris Mowry present a tale of intrigue, betrayal, and dark ambition featuring both old and all-new Transformers characters.

Chris Ryall says it will have little to no bearing on the movie sequel.
