Put all the candidates in a room with Putin, which candidates might actually come out alive?
That is how I would measure the foreign relations aspect of a candidate...

This is where Im concerned about Clinton and Obama. Not to sound sexist, but if Clinton were to try to work some magic in the middle east, what will their reaction be? What about Obama's? I know it sounds kind of petty, but its serious. A huge part of foreign policy is honestly appearance, physically and mentally.

Putin would kick all of the candidates asses, he's a freaking black belt.
Though politically I think the candidate with the best foreign clout would be John McCain.

Remember though, professional politicians are not fooled by looks.
They treat other politicians as "Devil in Preachers clothing"
So an Honest look will do no good to other politicians. To voters, that is a different story.

I think Clinton and McCain would walk out, seeing Hillary probably has a bigger man-part than Putin does.

McCain or Biden, when it comes to foreign policy.

Richardson is an excellent foreign diplomat. However, he is no longer a candidate :(

Thats a guy that insulted Saddam beyond belief, and within 5 minutes, turned it around and shook hands with the man.

American Voters are uneducated morons in most aspects..
OOOOOO Colorful sign! Must Vote!
Richardson. The man is a world respected diplomat who used to be our ambassador to the UN. He is intelligent, respectful, well-spoken and articulate. He was also, as Mr. Rogers says, the best candidate for the job. Unfortunately, he had three factors working against him...fat, ugly, Hispanic. God bless American politics.
Richardson is the best bet IMO, unfortunately he's out.....*shakes head*
To me it depends on who they put as their Secretary of State, and Defense.....that will be more key than it ever has before...

You left out the biggest one: lack of media attention. Yes he is Hispanic, but Obama is half black (as Bill is only half hispanic) and Hillary is a woman, so I don't think the whole minority in the political arena thing is relevant. He's ugly? So's Obama (looks kind of like Frankenstien's monster to me) Hillary (the bags under her eyes could hold my groceries) McCain (looks like a bulldog) etc. etc.
No, I think because Richardson wasn't a "celebrity candidate" and not loved by the media, that the average American never knew much about him.

One thing that I'm really hoping for in a possible McCain/Lieberman ticket is that they would get Bill Richardson as Secretary of State and Colin Powell as Secretary of Defense.
I don't believe Colin Powell will come back.........I think he got an extreme belly full the last time...... but yeah that would be a nice combination there.

I think Hillary would come out on top. She's really terrifying when she's pissed about something (coughcough*NewHampshireDebate*coughcough)...

I think he'll come back someday, just under a more moderate administration that doesn't want to use his reputation for their own personal means.
I think he's enjoying retired life too much.......and his wife has a huge amount of influence on him.....I don't think she wants him anywhere near politics anymore....
Actually Powell, is good friends with Guiliani.....they were on a very successful speaking tour together back in 2006.....
