I'm thinking it's a bad idea. The article doesn't make clear what the "3 layers of security" measures are.

Taking your picture BEFORE you process your application? That seems ****ed up. So, if you're an innocent american trying to get an ID, and something goes wrong with it, your photo is now in a federal database. :down

What's with this over 50 exception? That seriously sounds like they put it in there so it will be eaiser for the babyboomers to accept. "Well, this is for the potential terrorist, not me, so I'm ok with it."

It may sound good on paper, but knowing the way the government is now, it just another way to **** us over. :cmad:
