Holy Hannah! Movie Tickets Sell Out for 3-D Concert
Online ticket sellers are reporting that many of the 684 theaters featuring 3-D screenings of Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert 3D this weekend have already sold out. The concert movie is due to premiere at midnight tonight and is due to be shown for one week only. The Dallas Morning News said that a check of ticket availability in the Dallas-Fort Worth area showed that tickets could be had only in "less desirable show times." Some theaters, it said, were selling them at $15 apiece. The Los Angeles Times reported tickets going for $20 apiece in its part of the world. Reuters said that Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com, the two principal online ticket sellers, were estimating that tickets to the concert movie were accounting for more than three-quarters of their sales. Fandango said that more than 1,000 screenings had been sold out as of Wednesday. Taking note of the number of tickets being sold for morning and afternoon performances on Friday, the Toronto Star commented that it looks as if "many fans are planning to get up early in the morning and play hooky from school to see their hero on the big screen."

I just don't get how she got so big and where she even F'ing came from??
Seriously, this is one of those anomalies. There was no Hannah Montana(lamest name I've heard in a long time lulz), and then out of the blue she appears as this huge pop star.
I'm getting sick of this corporate bull****. She didn't have to work her way up any ladder. She was just HUGE the second she appeared.
It's not like other celebrities where you hear something brief about them starting off and you see more and more of them over time as they get bigger. This was just instantly in your face like they faked and commercialized her fanbase to actually get a fanbase.

That's a nice "snap judgment" way of looking at it, ignoring what happenes when these girl gets older. How popular was Shirley Temple after fuzz started growin on her peach. Stop complaining about these kid stars as if they're going to have the same level of popularity in the next two to five years. When that time comes, she'll either fade into obscurity, or she'll have to work her ever-lovin' ass off to be taken seriously as any kind of performer. She can't be Hannah Montana forever.
And why do you care? By your own admission, you haven't even been exposed to her enough to be frustrated by her popularity, so quit yer' b****in'.

It's the same old thing, just like New Kids on the Block, the '90s boy bands, Britney, Christina, the Spice Girls and countless others before, some stupid pop star for preteen girls to obsess over for a year or two, then just as soon as they became popular they'll have vanished, same thing will happen with Hannah. Hopefully she won't end up like Britney and stay in the spotlight for all her bad decisions. Can't blame Disney or Nickalodeon though, girl basically prints money for them, gotta exploit as much as possible before this batch of preteen girls grows up and regrets being obsessed with her.

Pretty much everything that comes on the Disney Channel becomes a big hit no matter how dumb it is, look at Hgh School Musical. And like I've said in another thread, Disney mostly targets girls anyway, which is why a majority of their shows are about girls.

Disney Channel is a revolving door of tween starlets. They come off of an assembly line somewhere I think, being made by starving illegal immigrants wearing Mickey Mouse hats while a bloodstained ghost of Walt Disney supervises, whip in hand, from atop a giant scorpion who has a Donald Duck voice.

Disney's really not as bad as people make it out to be.
Some of their live action shows actual have some wit and humor to them.
It's better than some of crap flash-animated cartoons that Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network manage to pump out.
We aren't the demographic for Hannah Montana, and is it really corrupting our youth? I liked anime when I was younger, does that mean I'm going to spend my time trying to shoot energy out of my hands and find a machine that will allow me to train 300x Earth's normal gravity? No. I used to watch wrestling a lot when I was a kid. Does that mean I'm obsessed with violence? No. What we watch as kids doesn't corrupt us, it's the inability to break away from it and the ability to tell between fantasy and reality. That's a job for the children and their parents.

According to IMDb, Lizzie McGuire was in production from 2001-2004. It premiered 7 years ago, but ended like 3 or 4 years ago. Like I said...the show ain't that old. Spongebob is older and the show is still relevant and popular. Then again...Spongebob hasn't officially ended yet. They stopped regular production before the movie but still produce some episodes here and there.
EDIT:
You know whats funny? That despite the success Disney has had lately with Cheetah Girls, HS Musical, Hannah Montana, etc the top rated children's show for the past 9 years has been Spongebob. If you look at the daily/weekly ratings Spongebob is usually #1.

I work at a movie and every time one of these disney channel or cgi pixar type movies come out I always ask the eight year old boys why they are watching Alvin and the Chipmunks when they could be sneaking into Rambo.
Back in the day you wouldn't catch me or any of my friends in Alvin, bee Movie, or any of the crap. We watched the Lion King and beat the crap out of each other with plastic lightsabers and throwing Transformers at eachother.

The whole point of the show is that she's essentially playing herself, a young pop star performing under the name "Hannah Montana." Kids get it.
I don't understand the outrage -- there's a reason the show is popular, it's well done for a kids show. Plus, Disney channel produces the hot stars of tomorrow. Give Miley another year or two and she'll be hot as hell.

We're all victims of the nostalgia monster. None of our 1980's entertainment was that well done, with the exception of a few.

I think it's just snobbery really. Not that I'm a Hannah Montana fan. But some schmucks for example can't accept that I like Avatar better than Evangelion. And Avatar despite being a Nickelodeon cartoon IS a great show. Kids should totally be watching it.
I hope though that Miley Cyrus's parents though protect her unlike Britney Spears.

Well said. Although I'm a late `80s and early `90s kid. So this is my nostalgia monster:
