That flea flicker is exactly why the Cardinals are the scariest offense in football. Aside from having an amazing quarterback (who can still throw 60 yard bombs in his late 30s), the best receiving squad in the NFL, and a great veteran QB accompanied by an outstanding rookie, they also have the trickiest head coach in the NFL when it comes to offense. Big tricks plays like that won the Super Bowl for the Steelers in 2005. Wisenhunt is not a coach that should be taken lightly.

Unfortunately, penalties are killed the Cardinals. They get a huge stop, only to have it taken away from then, followed up by a massive run. I mean, really? Two DEFENSIVE holding calls? I admit that last one but the first one was crap. I guess since the NFL can't have their Manning Brother Superbowl they want their PA Turnpike Bowl.

Remember though, it is not just Fitzgerald. I admit, he is a beast, and currently the best wide receiver in the NFL. But don't sell Warner short on that play. You have a 37 year old man making that 60 war throw.

PEREIRA RETIRING

Posted by Mike Florio on January 18, 2009, 2:20 p.m.
Jay Glazer of FOX reports that NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira informed Commissioner Roger Goodell earlier in the season that Pereira is retiring.
Per Glazer, Pereira will spend one more year on the job to assist the transition.
Pereira has held the position since 2001. Glazer reports that the decision is not the result of the perception and/or reality of increased officiating blunders in 2008.
Pereira has been extremely visible and accessible, explaining NFL rules and their application via NFL Network and various radio appearances. Though there have been hints of a hard-core company man in some of his explanations, he has been willing to admit officiating mistakes from time to time.
It’s easy to complain about the folks who currently hold a high-profile job that naturally attracts scrutiny and criticism, but the NFL in our view will be hard pressed to find someone better than Pereira.
Our only hope is that Pereira’s successor isn’t Ed Hochuli. Though he’s capable, he’s more long winded than an alligator with gas.

True but that is why Replay exists. Its great the NFL gave us replay, but the NCAA has shown how flawed the pro's system is. The NFL should move to the college system where every play is reviewed and everything should be reviewable. Instant Replay's goal should be to make sure the right call is made.

Actually, it's pretty simple:

Philadelphia's offense is extremely limited. They have no one to throw to that truly threatens a defense. None of their midget receivers scare the Cardinals, and Westbrook can only do but so much.

On the other hand, the Cardinals have the single most dominant offensive weapon in the playoffs in Fitzgerald, and a quarterback whose been here before. Not to mention, they're playing at home.

The Eagles are playing as well as they possibly can. They're simply playing a better team.

First, they have to try for the touchdown. It seems like they are settling for a field goal. There is too much time left to settle for a 2-point lead.

You can't review a call that wasn't made. You get some bad calls in your favor and you have some against you. Philly got both today. There probably should've been PI, but at the same time the Cards should've got that recovery earlier in the game as there is no way the ball went out. It just is the nature of the game.
