View Full Version : What HUMANS should return in TF 2?

Obviously everyone has their opinions on the Transformers...

But what human characters should return? To the best of my knowledge Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox are both contracted to return, but who else? Maybe Jon Voight? Maybe Josh Duhamel? Opinions?

The only humans i want back are Sam, Mikaela, Lennox and Epps, all played by the respective actors/actresses in the first movie.

Sam's parents should also have a small role, they were great.

Maybe a cameo by a few of the others, but that would be it.

I tell you who shouldn't be back. John Turturro. I don't want to see that guy anywhere near the set. I loathed his character. :cmad:

The only ones that need to come back are Sam, his parents, and Mikaela. There could be a role for Keller and Lennox, but I can't really see anyone else returning.

Sam & Mikaela, anyone else, I'd like to return but wouldn't mind if they didn't. Sam wouldn't need his parents if he was in college or whatever, still it'd be nice if they showed up. They were delightfully quirky.

Unlike Turturro, who went from plausibly dickish agent to potentially crazy weirdo. Well, Sector 7 was dismantled so *fingers crossed*

I'm like their fans in the first movie.

I say Shia and Megan obviously and I think that's it for the most part.

I don't want as much military presense in this film. I think there should be a threat that the humans are powerless against and we 100% need the Autobots to kick some ass.

Lennox and Eps I wouldn't mind if they did come back for the sequel. I wouldn't want the hackers at all. I think Anthony Anderson can be funny and all but there should be no need for another hacker subplot in the sequel.

Sam and Mikaela for sure. Lennox, Epps, and Keller would be great to have, too. Everyone else should be gone, but Sam's parents need to have a small presence somewhere in the film. Maybe at the beginning, helping Sam move into his college dorm or something.

I know this isn't a popular opinion in these parts but I really did not like Megan Fox's character. She was good eye candy, sure, but not engaging at all as an actress IMO. What I'd rather see them do, if this is going to be a series of films, is have a new love interest/gal pal every film (kind of like a James Bond/Indy).

Sam is the only character needed to return to really relate the audience to the first movie. Everyone else can be replaced by a new cast...hopefully not so cookie cutter in the acting.

sam obviously

I'm actaully of the opinion of Dr. Watson. While I loved looking at her in the movie, her role was not revolutionary by any means. I didn't get the peter-MJ feel, so i dont see it necessary for her to return, but i wouldn't mind if she did .

Maggie i thought was Completely pointless in the first movie, but i wouldn't mind seeing her again either, so she should "take over" voight's role because of obvious promotions as the "head of security" person, with anderson as her sidekick.

Tuturo should be out and replaced completely with the serious moustache guy.

The thing is, this time around, i think we will get a more robot-heavy movie, so we might not even see much of the humans, but if the army were to be involved, i would love for Duhamel to return with tyrese. I miss las vegas already.

OMG I was thinking the exact same thing! It makes sense for Ironhide to hang @ Lennox's cuz Sam can't have all those vehicles and frankly, the soldier angle might have some chemistry to it. EsPecially since he's got a wife and baby at home...

*Lennox walks in on Ironhide disPlaying his arsenal to his 2 year old daughter*

Lennox: Ironhide! What are you doing!?

Ironhide: I was just showing her my cannons...

Lennox: Ha ha ha! Oh Ironhide!

Dr. Watson

From the SHH front page:

Transformers 2 and Justice League Filming Updates
February 28, 2008

Variety has published an in-depth article talking about how a posssible Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike could affect movie productions starting soon. The trade says Hollywood studios are refusing to schedule new start dates on films that can't complete shooting by June 30.

Transformers 2 director Michael Bay said the labor cloud has made the process harder, but not impossible as he tries to keep the film on track for an early June start in order to make its scheduled June 26, 2009 release date.

"If there is a strike, we shut down, but shutting down isn't that big a deal," Bay told the trade. "You make accommodations, you make a deal with vending houses on equipment and on the stages where you are shooting. You hope for the best, but you can't be incapacitated by the possibility that there will be a strike. We've got to get this town back to work. I can't imagine anyone wants another strike, we're all tired. Hopefully clearer heads will prevail."

Bay said that the sequel is still recovering from the writers strike, and that he's playing catch-up after getting back his trio of writers, Ehren Kruger, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

"They did a detailed outline before the writer's strike, and now they are in Michael Bay jail, holed up in a hotel and working feverishly," Bay said. "We're paying for a beautiful suite and they are getting a lot of work done. Hiring three writers was unusual, but it has been a godsend in getting us to where we need to be. Somehow you find a way to get it done."

If it's not one ****ing thing, it's the other. :cmad:

Because i'd like to know if she's just saying that she 'won't come back' just to save face, when the real reason is, the film makers realized her character was completely useless.

I actually thought that since she was eye-candy, that she would return in Voight's job, head of dept of defense, or least chracter-wise. I don't think voight will be coming back, but who knows.

I think they spent the whole movie talking about transformers from the human's aspect. Lets just go full -blown robot war. forget the humans.

I'd love it.
Audiences aren't ready for it.

They spent almost the whole movie, like you said, from the human's perspective. They need another movie to counter balance that and hopefully the majority of this movie will be from the Transformers perspective.

Hopefully this new writer, Ehren Kruger, will bring some new perspective to the movie and will take the bots more seriously than Orci. At least that's what they said before...that this movie will be a more serious take or something to that effect.

No need for Bumblebee to "pee" on anybody else...please.

DoctorJones
03-01-2008, 04:45 PM
I attribute "Bumblepee" to Bay in an attempt to entertain kids. Orci has made it his point on Don Murphy's message boards that the robot and human focus will be more evenly focused, and the theme of the sequel is the robots adjusting to life on Earth, just as the first one was about a boy buying his first car.
