I haven't really seen a discussion of the House and Senate elections that will be held this year. So here's a thread for everyone to discuss the candidates, headlines, and polls and to make your own predictions as to what you think will happen.

By my own admission, I've haven't been paying as much attention to the House as I've been the Senate elections. And on that front I see the Democrats picking up at least four seats (Virginia, New Hampshire, Colorado, and New Mexico), as well as possibly an additional two (Oregon and Minnessota).

I think the Democrats will pick up three Senate seats: Virginia, New Mexico and Colorado. They'll also manage to hold on to Mary Landrieu's seat in Louisiana, but it won't be a landslide victory by any means. I also think they'll gain ten or so seats in the House, but they'll lose two or three seats they won in competitive districts in 2006.

I think the Democrats will lose seats in the House but make that up by gaining seats in the Senate.
