i love how there are people from all over the world on the hype, corny or not i think its special :woot: at first i totally didnt know that
yeah. i realized it after a few weeks i noticed there were a lot of UKers. Then i noticed there were other europeans as well. then i started to notice australians, asians, south americans. people from all over. it's pretty cool. most of them speak english very well and you'd never know.

but some of them you can tell because of the grammar, hehe.

I think so, too. It's amazing, online I've always prefered talking to people from other countries than my own folks, it's just more exciting and I can practice my English. I can talk to Slovenes in real-life but the internet's the place for friendships and penpals all over the world.

i want to learn a second language. spanish is a good language to learn if you're in america. but i'd also like to learn japanese. i think it's a cool language

that's pretty awesome. in america you have people of all cultures, but no one cares enough to learn their languages. hehe. we are kind of isolated, other than mexico and canada. but canada is english (mostly). so that's why spanish would be good to learn.

and yes, japan seems like a cool place and it's somewhere, along with england, that i would like to live for an extended period of time.

yeah. it could definitely help. but i think you have to learn a little of the language first. some basic elements of the language. and then watching those things will help. because you will have learned it formally, but then you get to hear how it is spoken naturally. and we have PLENTY of spanish stations here in the states.

Yeah, talkshows especially can be very helpful because you can hear how people actually speak in real-life. You even pick up on accents after a while. IMO it's the next best thing after actually visiting that country, staying there for a few months, learning the language as you go by listening to natives.

Talkshows helped me more than anything after I had the basic grasp of the language. Maybe cartoons are the best way to start due to their easier dialogue. Though it depends on the cartoon, not all of them are made for little kids. The ones I watched were aimed at pre-teens and teens, with plenty of mature themes.

Soap operas, too, yes! :woot:

The most important thing about learning a language through tv IMO: You're actually enjoying it because the tv show/cartoon/whatever is, in fact, enjoyable. You want to know what people on screen are saying. No one's forcing you to do it, no one's forcing you to study some boring tables of verbs or whatever. You do it on your own terms and you can take your time with it.

and thanks, yeah i love the neighbor characters. i think they are the "breakout" characters. they are interesting and funny and have strange voices. explaining them wouldn't do them justice. if anyone were to find them funny, it would only happen through seeing them and hearing them talk.

the show ranges from silly to downright vulgar. really runs the gambit on the type of humor i incorporate into it. who knows if i'll ever actually do anything with it though

yeah. TNA is garbage, WWE is garbage. but i watch both. WWE is better, but only because they occasionally have some good matches and i like MVP.

roh is pretty great, but their ppvs will stop shortly due to lack of interest. it doesn't cost ROH any money to run the PPVs because it's just like one of their DVDs and the owner of dishnetwork is a fan. but, it costs dishnetwork money. so it'll stop soon.

that's what i heard.

and when there are THAT many people on the boards, causing them to crash, it's not fun to post anyway. that's when i take a break for a couple hours. and when the dust settles, everything is back to normal =) with just a few new additions to the family, most of the newcomers will rarely be seen again.

You know what I love about these boards is the number of credible people who know their stuff. I know there is always someone on here trying to screw us over, but the fake is always exposed. And yeah the amount of post some have is amazing, I try but I don't really get on the days my fiance is home.
