alrighty then, here goes:

A young man on his way to work walks through a park and sees a chessboard set up with all the peices but there's no one around, as a goof he decides to move one piece (a white pawn lets say) and goes on his way.

The Next day he's walking through the same park again on his way to work and notices that a black piece has moved. Half perplexed/ half amused he moves the white pawn again.

The next morning he walks by to find that yet another black piece has moved, and it would seem that some unknown person was playing chess with him, every day, another piece moves, after a few days his mystery chess partner increasingly occupies his mind, spending more and more time each day wondering about what move will happen next, when one of his pieces is finally taken out (a knight) he comes home to realise that his cat has mysteriously died, the vet says it was most likely natural causes, but he isn't convinced. His daily chess game starts to occupy his mind so much that he's fired from his job because all he does all day is doodle chess pieces.

Over the course of a few weeks, more odd things start happening, his bishop is taken out and his best friend disapears, the queen is taken out and his girlfriend suffers a seemingly accidental fall, breaking her neck. At this point he is terribly distraught,paranoid and convinced that who ever is playing chess with him is destroying his life. He decides he's going to wait by the chess board in park so he can confront this person he thinks is destroying his life, but durring the night he collapses in the bushes and freezes to death.

Later, the coroner arrives to remove the body and one of them see's the chess board and tells his buddy that who ever left the chessboard just put the king in checkmate.

Game over.





thats just a rough outline, I've yet to completely flesh out the idea, being as I came up with it about an hour ago

hmm it's interesting. could work as a short. i don't think there's enough for a full length. but it could be pretty cool.

why thank you sir, I'd say it could work as a film, not all movies have typical stories, take memento for example....different can be good....very good

Exactly, many story writers and movie directors are recognized by they're particular styles. I recommend next that you start working on the story elements such as building up of characters, setting, background, you know just some of the prior things that gives more depth into a story. Do work on it slice, I really do see a lot of potential your story.:woot::up::up:

Hey everyone, I can only stay for a minute, I was swamped at work and had no time to talk to you all, tomorrow for sure. I had to reply to this post though. This story is amazing. I am a writer/screen writer and this had me hooked, even for being as short as it is, I could see how it could all play out. I can't wait to see what else you come up with.
