Screenname of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master: Ol'Canucklehead

Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ect.) And if so, what is your screenname?: Not currently, I can get one if you need it, but I am generaly loged into the hype for hours at a time every day.

Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen: Ol'Canucklehead(myself), Matt Murdock and Venom160.....if they accept.

How will the overall layout of the RPG be?: One main GM, one Co-GM, one AGM. Three staffers, basically. It will go on a season by season basis, with the GM's enforcing character app's, the rules, and updating the rosters. Each GM will have the right to refuse acceptance of an app as they see fit, whether it be because the application isn't well done, filled out correctly, or the character itself is far too early to be introduced, logically. (Structure borrowed from Master Bruce)

The following artical was provided by the Daily Bugel Newspaper

Scientific research has always shown that the species of this planet are in a constant state of evolution. Researchers have used examples of countless animal species for years and we have watched their progression. However, the one question in all of our minds has been, if all that is around us has evolved, and it is possible that we evolved from other forms of life, than are we still evolving into yet another species? The answer is undoubtedly, yes.

Proffesor Charles Xavier, one of the most promonet reseachers of our era, says that he has discovered that we as human beings are evolving, mutating, into what is known as homo-supierior. A new race of men capable of doing things that we could have, until now, only dreamed of in science fiction. Proffesor Xavier believes that these types of "mutations", as he calls them, are nothing new, but in fact have been occuring for decades, if not centuries. He believes that soon "Mutants" will become increasingly evident, and that with such an occurance they will be met with the same fear and ignorance as any other race of man introduced into a culture in which they have not yet been comonly accepted.

Proffesor Xavier has founded his own private school only last year, in hopes of bettering the minds of young America, and teaching them what he calls "Important lessons for tommorow." He plans to teaches his student of tolerence, acceptance, and general moral issues that are commonly over looked in todays society. When jokingly asked if he was using the school as a superhuman getaway he laughed and said only, "One can only dream of something that wonderfull."


In Westchester, New York, Charles Xavier has created a school, of which appears to the general public as nothing more than a private school for gifted youngsters, but in all actuality it is a safe haven for the young mutant population. After having a falling out with his old partner, Eric Leinsher, Proffesor Xavier realized that in order to help create a wolrd in which mutants can be accepted than he must help to create structure, and morality in the young mutants of today's generation. Proffesor Xavier belives that if he can reach these few young people than perhaps he can help to set the ground work for furter generations and create a preimtive measure against ignorance, bigotry, and hatred. This is the story of those students, this is the begining of what would become legend, this is where heroes were born.......This is Westchester.

What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? I will say that if someone has expressed interest than others should respect that and give them at least a day to post an ap for that character in the OOC, if they do not respond within that time period than all are free game. However all in all it is first come first serve.

I was just saying for the fact that some people had already expressed interest and seemed as if they were planning something for the character......however, it seems that instead of just showing interest and sharing common curtosey we could wind up having people take advantage of it and doing the whole "Well I called it first" thing.

This RPG has no continuity, but will have influences from all forms of X-Men media including comics, movies, video games and tv series.

You really don't have to worry about losing X-Men from Marvel RPG either, because most of the people that are interested either a) don't play in Marvel, b) don't play an X-Man, or c) are playing an X-Man they don't play in another RPG.:yay:

Its original continuity. It is X-Men taken from a realistic perspective of what could actualy happen in our world. Most of it will unfold like a teen drama, with the X-Men growing into the people they are destined to become.

I doubt you'll have people leaving the Marvel RPG to join this one as this one is going to be COMPLETELY different. We won't be using any other heroes/villains that aren't asociated with the X-Men unless speacial GM permision is given, we won't be having giant world ending arcs, and most of the RPG will focus on individual character development. Anyone but the hardcore gamers may find it too slow for their tastes, but the intent is to focus more on the characters and less on the world coming to an end around them.

In all honesty there aren't that many X-Men to start out with, and I wouldn't want an overabundance our first go, so the roster will be, and probobly should be pretty small. I have some ideas for him but they are very specific.

If DP is to be involved than he needs to be a government agent, working either for S.H.I.E.L.D. or the C.I.A. to Locate Wolverine and capture him.

Deadpool could very well work, but his introduction needs to be slow and his insanity should take time to reveal itself. I would like to see him as a hardass in combat, with him and Wolvie having a Borne style battle royal.

Also, he would need a few or so before being introduced at all, to give the X-Students time to get to know one another first before Logan gets in trouble.

Since both RPG's are starting continuity from scratch, the X-Men in both games are pretty much identical. So I guess it comes down to whether or not players want a contained universe or the larger Marvel experience.

I actually agree that DoM is more for non-X-Men type heroes. Which is why I too believe both shall live.

Exactly. They've perfected it. I'm so hyped for that film now. I was with the Remy & Wade news but now I've seen some good shots of Logan I'm confident it's going to be the X-film I've been waiting to see :up:

The irony is that all RPG's should be like that, and yet somewhere we've lost that for one actions scene after another.

It starts from the very -beginning- of the X-Men then? As in when it was first formed? So, it's like a 'Rise' of the X-Men sort of thing, correct?


I'll be honest, ;) Trusty brings up the points we discussed a while ago in a thread about the state of the games, and I do think it would be to soon to add this RPG right now since the RoM RPG was accepted just the other day.
That said, I'm not saying anything definite, other than be slightly prepared to have us put this on hold for a while.

We all seem to have a strong interest in it, and almost all the other players seem to think that it wouldn't have any negative affect on the other RPGs, nd the fact is that this would be a VERY differet RPG even from RoM. This would be a ery unique setting and I think that aproval should be pretty easy on this one.

Must've been some idiot in the Concept thread. I think we should also restrict characters to only two per person. And I mean, throughout the ENTIRE RPG's history. At first, you should be allowed only one character. Once the game starts to heat up, a second character is optional.
