And we really don't know if Terminator Salvation will satisfy critics...it could turn out to be a blunder, such as Rise of the Machines.

Thats only if you believe that movie Scopinox was based on the Beast Wars version and not the G1 version.

As it stands I believe the movie character was inspired by the G1 version.All of the TF's in Bays first film had G1 counterparts.

If you watch the trailer in 108HD you will see that this is at the end of that scene. You can see that they charge Megs up in some way and a blue wave of light goes through his body.

their faces ARE similarly designed, but they're not the same face. i don't see a reason why they would give Megatron a 3rd rendition, especially considering that TF looks less interesting and that's undoubtedly a shot from Egypt (the climax/finale). not to mention that TF's left arm looks more normal than Megatron's...especially the hand.

there ARE similarities, but i stand by my theory that it's just a throw-away Transformer (kinda like Devastator, the tank in the first movie).

TECHNICALLY you are incorrect.

It has never been established what Optimus ment when he called Megatron brother "literally" or not in the movie vers.

What the comics or video games say are not canon as it pretains to the films unverse.

And "Prime" is more of a rank or title then it is a name.So there is no reason to believe "Prime" was ever part of Megatrons name.

I gently went through it again scene by scene and managed to get it to clearly show that it's Starscream. Makes sense though, that whole forest battle scene had been shown in the ShoWest footage and it looked to be Megs, SS, and Blackout vs. Prime.

I am pretty sure that is a protoform Decepticon. If you look closely to the background of the scene, there is another robot with a similar design.


About the hovering rubble next to the pyramid, none of those jets have any of the markings that Starscream has in this film. Also, I know this is a bit of a stretch, but what if the Fallen is trying to summon Unicron? According to his comic history, he is the servant of Unicron and is eternally on fire. In the film, he seems to have the power to teleport with a blaze of fire, so why not incorporate the rest of his comic backstory into the film? Aren't they planning for this franchise to be a trilogy? If they are, my bet is on Unicron appearing in either the end of this film or in the third.

which shows similar features to his proposed earth mode. With this and the Ravage pic it does kind of hold some ground, however the newly leaked spoiler saying that Soundwave is 6 feet taller then Longhaul kind of suggests that this truck mode would be to small.

If you watch the trailer in HD you can see that, at that point, the Constructicons are about to give Megs life. In the trailer Megatron's body thrashes once and this charge of blue light/energy goes over his body. It is pretty obvious that they already rebuilt him, prior to this, and then were just about to give him life.

People should really start paying attention to the trailers before going off on some rant!

Yup and i think the constructicons get their earth modes when they pass soundwave in space because he already scanned all their alt modes.

It's a trailer, not all the scenes will be in order. It obvious that the contructicons will fix him into it.

Soundwave doesn't get a protoform. He's a satellite in orbit around Earth frm the begining. He's been scanning alt-modes for everyone, and transfers them as each Decepticon passes him. From what I've read.

Actually if I had to guess...i bet Soundwave is the one that ends up finishing off Optimus. Which of course would set up a lame "search for spock" revival of prime for the third movie so he could defeat the final villian (unicron maybe?)

As others have said, that sam yelling "optimus" was almost a death blow scream, and seems pretty grim.

But if they can revive megatron, i'm sure there would be a major sacrifice to bring him back in the third (bumblebee, the most courageous?)
