Synopsis:
Peter Parker struggles to get a date for the Fall Formal (and to figure out a way to pay for it). Meanwhile, the unstoppable Rhino- the latest of the Big Man's creations- has sworn vengeance on Spider-Man. Spidey takes the battle directly to the source of his troubles, the previously invisible hand, who has been secretly conducting his villain-of-the-week woes! But the Big Man has a tempting offer he doesn't think our hero can afford to refuse. Will Spidey do the right thing?

The episode was written by Matt Wayne and directed by David Bullock. Clancy Brown, the voice of Lex Luthor in Superman and Justice League, provides the voice of Rhino.

The first season of The Spectacular Spider-Man will air for twelve consecutive weeks on KidsWB. A second season is already in production.

That's what it says here:http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=22112

I still have my doubts but...who knows.

Looking forward to seeing what they do with the Rhino and I like the more soapy elements of this series. It's more like the comic books when they blend the action in with Peter Parker's personal life, rather than it being just all action like some of the other Spider-Man toons.

They make us care for the person behind the mask, which is Peter parker. We want to see what his destiny will be like and what will happen in his life next, and that's a fantastic thing.

it would be nice if they could do stories in this cartoon all the way up untill where they are in the comics now. u know i would just like for there to one day be a really long lasteing spidey animated series. If Power rangers can go on this long, why not other hero shows like ol
Webhead and the Dark Knight.(speakinf of those two it would be cool to see them team up in a cartoon)

I mean, I really think Brand New Day story is awesome, but alot of things before that all the way back to Sins Past really are not good to be in shows. I think this show should focus mostly on the 60's, 70's and 80's era of the comics.

Who knows what happened. Either there was a miscommunication and there is a new episode or kids wb is just up to old tricks as others have said and pulling rerun card then air remaining episodes when they want.

It would be great if they intertwined the Sinister Six with the Black Spidey, the only sensible way how he would defeat all of them at once, and after that for the Season Finale... Venom! I also hope for the Season 2 Finale they plan Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin.

Since it seems that there will be three DVDs for this series, for the different arcs, which the episodes are 1-5, then 6-9, then 10-13, it could be showing episodes in that kind of way..."Survival of the Fittest" thru "Competition", and then "The Invisible Hand" thru "The Uncertainty Principle" and then "Persona" thru "Nature vs. Nurture".

For the last time big man is not the kingpin. Currently kingpin falls under the daredevil license which fox currently owns. And greg has stated many times he cannot use the kingpin. Big man is an actual comics character from the early era of spiderman and predated kingpin by 10 yrs or more. Here is big man's bio:

Background

Frederick Foswell was a short, slight, timid reporter for the Daily Bugle. Tired of playing the fool for J. Jonah Jameson (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/jjj.html), he used his reporter's skills and contacts to join with the Enforcers (Montana (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/montana.html), Ox (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/ox.html) and Fancy Dan (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/fancy_dan.html)) and unite all of the mobs of New York. He wore built-up shoes and a padded jacket to disguise his identity. Even Spider-Man never truly suspected who the Big Man really was. But it was Spider-Man's intervention that resulted in the police discovering Foswell's secret.
Foswell never became the Big Man again. Upon his return from prison, he was rehired by J. Jonah Jameson. Initially suspected by Spider-Man of being either the Green Goblin (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/greengoblin1.html) or the Crime Master (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/crime_master.html), Foswell was actually frequenting underworld hang-outs disguised as the stoolie known as Patch. (He wore a full-head mask of a man with a patch over his left eye.) In his capacity as reporter and stoolie, Foswell figured out the Crime Master's identity and tipped the police, ultimately resulting in the Crime Master's fatal shootout. He also worked with police against a cat burglar and tried to help Spider-Man discover the identity of the Master Planner. He became the Daily Bugle's best reporter. Spidey even began tipping Foswell off to his fights.
Later, Foswell achieved prominence when it was revealed that he was the cellmate of Mendel Stromm (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/professor_stromm.html) in prison and when, as Patch, he was the first one to discover that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. (Unfortunately for him, he also became the first person to fall for the fake conversation between Peter and Spidey, with a web dummy web-slinging away, thereby becoming the first person to believe that Parker and Spider-Man had a working relationship with the news photos.)
In his final appearances, when it seemed that Spider-Man had quit and the Kingpin (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/kingpin.html) of crime was reorganizing the underworld, Foswell reverted to his old ways. He first tried to take the Kingpin's place but failed. He settled for being his first lieutenant instead. But, at the end, when the Kingpin's men were trying to kill J. Jonah Jameson, Foswell could not let any harm come to the man who had trusted him after his time in prison and given him a job. Protecting Jameson, Foswell was gunned down by the Kingpin's men... dying a hero. The Big Man made one other appearance when Janice Foswell, Frederick's daughter took over the role. She was killed by her fiance, the new Crime Master. No one has worn the garb of the Big Man since.

Rhino is probably thrice as strong as Spidey. His spider-strength will be damn-near useless.

Yeah, but if Spidey's able to dodge Rhino, he can still hit him and/or throw him. I mean it won't hurt that much, but it should still effect him.

I used to think that...
but Rhino was easily taken by Deadpool in C&D series...and Deadpool's strenght is inferior to Spidey's...or so I think.
so I don't know...It's called poor writing. Deadpool can't beat Rhino no more than Wolverine can beat the Hulk.

Nurture".

Actually, I thought it would be:

Arc 1:
Survival of the Fittest
Interactions
Natural Selection

Arc 2:
Market Forces
Competition
The Invisible Hand

Arc 3:
Catalysts
Reactions
The Uncertainty Principle

Arc 4:
Persona

Well, I checked up Rhino's abilities on wikipedia(cuz I don't read comics), and it said the suit always gave him strength...is that true?

I kinda understand why they would give him a suit that made him invulnerable and gave him superior strength, because their experiment with Marko's silicon armor went awry, but why a horn on his head? Was their goal to make him have a rhino suit? Or do you think it'll be kinda like a comedic moment with O'Hirn realizing his strength, than putting something on his head, a spike, and calling himself the Rhino?

My idea is that Rhino DNA stabilizes the grafting of the silicon armor, because a rhino's hide is already very resistent to damage. I highly doubt that's what will happen though.

The reason why the suit resembles the rhino is done purposely. The suit is made out of a material that supposed to be like the hide of a rhino, which makes it one hell of a protective suit.

Also about his strength, he was always strong. But the suit made him superhuman.

So, we're really not getting a new episode this Saturday, eh, being that there's no official pics/stills this week?

This will prove to be bad for the ratings, this is not the way to build an audience for the series. It's a pretty bad move to start repeating so soon, in fact, it would have helped to build a nice size consistant/faithful audience had they shown all 13 episodes in a row. Now people will turn and watch something else. Sometimes, I could just kick Sony/Marvel/WB in their freakin' nuts!

They shouldn't air the first episode unless their entire first season is completed. They shouldn't be running around still writing, animating, in post-production and trying to make air dates. That's the way it is making a series. It really is a long, time consuming and grueling process. It's no where near as simple as most fans think it is.

The breather thing was a joke, just fyi. But still, these people work very hard. Very, very hard. I had lunch with Greg Weisman on Wednesday, and the man just barely has time to sleep. There were moments where I thought he was going to pass out, and he's doing all this so we will have a great show to enjoy.

And how do you know if they'll lose that much of their audience or not? Do you have a crystal ball? Some might watch the episode again, some might not. But most will tune in the following week, and I am sure they will advertise the next episode.

Well it looks like kids wb is just pulling their old tricks with airing episodes of shows when they want and not run episodes straight through. That was what the plan was for spiderman but looks like kids wb wanted it differently. And for all we know all 13episodes were probably all done and ready before air most likey. Even though I really didn't want this show to skip weeks, I would rather have them take their time on it than the show being bad.

Rhino looks fantastic!

Dr. Octopus looks alright; better than having a wrestler physique with orange shoulderpads like the 90's cartoon.

Green Goblin...not quite feeling it. But I'll wait for the episode. Sometimes these designs look better in motion.
