View Full Version : Who will learn Peter's secret?

A 16 year old superhero's gonna slip up sooner or later. So who do you suppose will find out that he's gay...I mean sPider-Man. :p
I guess Green Goblin's the most obvious seeing how almost his entire criminal persona is built around knowing who sPidey is. If Norman and Peter have half the hero/villain chemistry they had in Ultimate sPider-Man, we're in for a hell of a ride.
It might also be interesting if MJ found out and was his only confidant putting drama in Peter's relationship with Gwen. Or vice versa.

Harry. Though, I doubt that'll happen.

Maybe around the time he becomes a goblin of his own.
This is weird, but I kind of hope that while Norman is the 616 Green Goblin, Harry becomes the Ultimate Hobgoblin.

I think Foswell may figure it out but of course Peter will trick him into believing they are 2 different people.

Mary Jane has known Peter was Spider-Man since the beginning of the comics, she just never told him she knew. I've never seen that adapted into animation and I'd love to see that here.
Also, Green Goblin, but that kind of goes with out saying. For now, I can't think of anyone else. (Please, no Civil War)

Did she now? The plot thickens.

Did she now? The plot thickens.
Yep. The night Uncle Ben was killed M.J. was right next door at her aunt's house when she saw Peter run inside his house after the police outside recieved a report that they located the burglar. Moments later she see's Spider-Man crawling out of Peter's bedroom window.
So yeah, she's known (or at least suspected) all along. She just never told him she knew until he proposed to her.
I'm also wondering if they're gonna do something similar on Spectacular.

I'm gonna agree with Norman finding out, maybe not this season, I think the only person to find out this season will be Eddie.

I think it will be the Green Goblin because in the comics, the Green Goblin followed Peter home and learned his secret identity. However, I also think they could go with MJ knowing Peter was Spider-Man all along.

Norman...then Gwen, too.
I think she'll be kinda like Chloe in Smallville.

MJ (though it'll be a secret).
Norman Osborn.
Mac Gargan (when he is introduced) will come VERY close.
Hopefully (and I would be very excited if they did this) they'll do the Doc Ock story where he kidnaps Betty Brant and her brother, and Spidey comes to the rescue...except he's sick! He's powerless! So when he loses the fight and Ock pulls his mask off in front of everyone (JJJ included), nobody believes that Peter is actually Spidey.
That would be great.

One of my favorite covers, and some of the best artwork in the scenes between Peter and Norman in battle. Norman (Goblin) should be the first to find out Peter's secret, and should ONLY find it out through battle, and unmasking in battle.
But with Venom being in Season 1, it appears that Norman will not have that honor unfortunately.
Also, does anyone FEEL the need for a Continued story (2 parter, or 3) in this series? This tie everything up with a villain in one episode is gonna get old fast IMO. They should throw in some 2 or 3 parters, perhaps with some of the more important storylines like say the UNMASKING of Spider-Man by the Goblin. I know it's a dream, but I gotta dream -)

You can bet Norman is going to find out in later episodes.

Norman probably will, but I want Peter to actually TELL Gwen that he's Spidey, so he'll have at least someone as the Peter/MJ thing builds up(whenever MJ does show up, haha).

mj is going to show up they are jsut pulling the comics route which is cool in my book, in mentioning her to peter and he will end up meeting her a bit later. Most believe she is showing up in the rhino episode and if peter ends up going to the formal thing since he doesnt have a date he is probably going to be forced into taking mj as a last measure.

It's TheSlag! Welcome back!

As for the topic, I believe Norman and Harry will discover Spider-Mans real identity, also Eddie Brock. MJ will most likely know as well.

Well with venom this season looks like eddie will be the first to know, then i would want norman to find out next season. Now if gwen is to get killed off in this show i so would love for her to learn his secret before she gone.

That's my guess,as well. I just hope they don't get carried away and have everyone find out who Spider-man is(like the films).

Well there was like a Sandman dude or something that tried to get his name to be Doc Ock something and he was hella annoying posting countless threads about who should be the villains in Spider-Man, 4,5,6 and 7, lol.
I could be wrong though, meh.

:cwink:Hey Guys! Glad to see some of the "Old School" still here, even if they wearing unfamiliar colors (Joker/Ock). And Good to see Oscar Da Grouch (Vis) is still rattlin the cans like usual, even in this "kinder and gentler" Hype *spits*.
Back on topic. I was never a fan of how Norman found out Peter's secret in the comics. That is one thing I would NOT mind at all to see changed. I would rather see Norman unmask Peter in battle, and watch as the madness deepens as he discovers his son's best friend is his mortal enemy.
That said, a couple of things they need to do, but WON'T. We're talking cartoons here, with limited attention spans I guess. 1) Delveop Harry's and Peter's relationship/firendship MORE. 2) Develop more (some?) of a relationship with Peter and Norman. Show Peter seeing some of the dark side to Harry's and Norman's relationship, and have him balance that with his relationship with Aunt May and Uncle Ben. 3) Introduce "da gang" to the Osborn lifestyle more.. I would LOVE to see a scene where Norman has amensia (down the line), and invites the gang over for the dinner party... where Peter releasizes that Norman is losing it... and remembering... the ole Cat and Mouse game.
and lastly 4) FOR THE LOVE OF ... introduce a TO BE CONTINUED.. preferably with the Goblin Saga. DO NOT intro a villain and clean it up ALL in ONE frickin episode. Sheesh. The Goblin Saga deserves that. Norman's and Peter's "dance"... deserves that. Cartoon or not.
But alas.. as I said... they.... "won't".
Pity. Cartoon or not. The show deserves better. Not that it is not entertaining... just could be Greatness.
Nuff Said.

Well Norman Osborn/Green Goblin will find it out eventually, but I doubt it will happen this season. Eddie Brock will figure it out, probably through the black suit.
I think Captain Stacy will find out. He did in the comics and if they end up killing him in a Doc Ock battle and he tells Peter he knows, that would be epicness!
What I really want to see, though is MJ knowing Peter has been Spidey for a while just like she did in the comics. I'd love to see her drop that bomb on him in this show.

I wanna say Norman, but the Green Goblin episode is coming up soon, and if he doesn't find out Peter is Spider-Man, then its going to be Venom by the end of season 1. Then again, lets not rule out the Black Cat.

In the comics, Norman didn't learn Peter's secret until his fourth confrontation with Spider-Man.

Hopefully just a few (Green Goblin,Venom,Gwen)and not like a Sam Raimi Spider-Man where everyone knows his secret identity.

Fixed.
I'm hoping Doc Ock learns his id in this show. I'm always up for Doc Ock to be added to the hopefully short list of villains who have that knowledge.

It is possible for Gobby to find out Pete's Spider-Man first, but if that happens, I wouldn't want the story to wrap up in one episode. Gobby is an intimidating foe and should get at least a two parter. If Gobby is one episode, then leave it to Venom to find out who's Spider-Man first, but I guess Venom too should get a two parter. It would be a shock for Peter to learn there is someone out there who knows his ID and is threatening him, such a story needs to be explained in more than one episode.
