Post your favorite quotes from the show here. Some of my favorites are how the shows first 2 supervillians settled on their names....

---
Osborne: "Toomes what will this solve?"
Vulture: "Not Toomes. I'm what you called me, I'm The Vulture!!!"
Osborne: "I called you a buzzard."
Vulture: "What?"
Osborne: "You can't even get the name right."
---
Electro: "Without a cure, I'm not Max Dillon anymore. I'm.....what was it you called me?"
Spider-Man: ".....Lightning Butt?"
Electro: "NO, NOT THAT!! Electro. Yeah, I'm Electro!!"

"I mock, I'm a mocker."

"You are celebrating halloween in september right?

"Toomes what will this solve?"
"Not Toomes. I'm what you called me, I'm The Vulture!"
"I called you a buzzard."
"What?"
"You can't even get the name right."

There's defenitley more that I like.

the best quote by far:

right after Flash throws the water balloons at Peter and then he lets them hit him, Gwen steps up, and Flash says he'll throw them at her too, and she says something like "you cant hit a moving target or else we wouldnt have lost that game to Bronx Tech"

and then Robbies son whips out the greatest line in television history

Mary Jane Watson: Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot.
Cant beat the classics.

Peter: We talking Marina Tench deep or Dante's 9th Circle deep?

I'm going with Venomfan on Randy's line. Other gems included...

"Carpe Ropum?" Because it went over the heads of 99% of the viewers.

"You wouldn't know her Flash. She's 20 and hot!" Because I just can't imagine 'The Batman' ever saying that.

"Get this. She has 'a wonderful personality'." *shudders* Because that's just how guys think.

"Dude, don't get all Emo on me." Because, oh God, where to begin? I guess for starters, Emo wasn't even a word a couple of years back and now its "The new Goth!". Because even though Eddie Brock sort of misused it, it was funny as hell and conjured up ridiculous memories of movie Peter pulling his bangs down and dressing in black while under the symbiote's influence and I guess in a weird way, foreshadows the arrival of an apathetic black suit.

I thought this was kind of cool.
"None of you get it. Without a cure, I'm not Max Dillon. I'm.......What did you call me?

Osborn insulting Vulture was fan-freaking-tastic. It was a the complete opposite of the '90s series when Vulture kidnapped Osborn. In STAS he was about to pee his pants. In this SSM, hundreds of feet in the air, he has the gull to insult him. I loved that.

Spidey: Awww, Beaky, don't fly away mad!
Vulture: The name is VULTURE!!!

Of all the name intros, that was my favorite. The rest had good intros and follow ups but always seemed to wind up with the character just sort of picking out a new nickname for themselves...

"Not Toomes. I'm what you called me. I'm the Vulture!"

"No! Not that! Electro. Yeah, I'm the Electro!"

Sorry, I think I just melded your post with the following one:

What's that quote at the end of Natural Selection? Something about them not throwing a parade and Spidey stays because Spidey's needed? Something like that :p

And I think that was sort of a combination of two scenes. The Spidey staying because Spidey's needed one is in Natural Selection, when he decides not to use the de-mutation serum. I'm not sure about the other part, and I assumed that the other quote was what you were referring to.

Paraphrasing again but...

"John! Where are you going!? We can still get steak!"

"I'm sorry where are my manners. Here you are threatening Tomby and I don't even say thank you. I guess my only consolation is that you're also holding innocent people hostage. It's hurting my poor little sPider brain!"

SM: You took the words right outta my mouth. Is that a felony?

GG: I hope so! This little Goblin wouldn't be caught dead with a misdemeanor!

SM: Nice Banter! Your aim could use some work though!

GG: You know what they say, 'Practice Makes Perfect'!

Tombstone: What do you hope to accomplish here tonight?
Green Goblin: So the whole "Wanting-to-destroy-you-and-take-over-your-empire" thing wasn't clear? Well done.

Freaking hilarious.

Actually, I think he said "Well darn."

Anyhoo, this is indeed a well written show. So I decided to do something fun and come up with Top Ten Quotes lists for episodes. And to kick them off, I'll start with this gem of an ep.

10

Flash: So Parker, you actually got yourself a date. I mean sure, Mary here's not the 20 year old you WANTED to bring but at least she's non-fictional. So I guess you win the bet! Haw Haw Haw Haw!

MJ: What'd ya bet?

Peter: Loser dresses like a cheerleader for Halloween.

MJ: Well, Big Boy, I hope you've got the legs for the skirt.

Lemme explain what's so great about this little exchange. Ever since a little movie called She's All That hit theaters years ago, there've been countless knockoffs where a guy makes a bet involving a female, falls in love with her, forgets about the bet and loses her when she learns about the bet. That seemed like where they were heading with this story before slapping that plot device in the face and have MJ react like a non-emotionally disturbed female (rare though they may be.) firing off a quip at Jackass Flash before taking Peter dancing. Bravo!

9

sPidey: You know, applause from you make me wanna shower.

Tombstone: Perhaps. But someone should point out that I offered you a handsome salary to do just the sort of thing you did tonight and instead you've done The Big Man's work for free. That, my heroic friend, is what grownups call 'irony'.

If only sPidey had countered with "Then again, I just did what I always did without selling my soul to the devil. So up yours."

8

Principal:And your queen is...uh, red-headed-girl-who-came-with-Peter-Parker? Is that right?

MJ's so damn cool apparently, she won prom queen at a school she never visited before and nobody even knew her name. And the little "Is that right?" trailing off voice was a nice touch.

7

JJJ: Goblin! Green Goblin! No, no reporter. I'll cover the story myself and save a few bucks. But get me Parker. This is right up his freak show alley! Oh and maybe call the police.

Classic Jameson. First concern: Saving money. Second concern, getting pictures of something incredibly dangerous from a 16 year old boy. Third, apprehending a madman.

6
Tombstone: Sir, I don't know who you are but--

GG: Of course you don't! That's the point behind the mask genius!

Hey, Tomby, you want some Aloe Vera for that burn?

5

Gangsta: Get the freak! *after a butt whooping* I meant...get the freak WHATEVER HE WANTS!

GG: What I want is your undying loyalty. Or the dying kind. The Green Goblin is nothing if not flexible.

Nice save, kiddo! This is the first of many times we hear Gobby refer to himself in the third person and with a smart mouth no less.

4

Sally: See, Glory? You're SO selfish! Everybody knows you don't dump the guy with the limo--nothing personal Kenny--until the day AFTER the dance!"

I like this line so much because yeah, she's a stuck up little wretch but she makes a good point. The best part is when she breaks the mood to apologize to Kong in the middle and you see him shrugging it off from behind.

3
sPidey: Okay, wow. Just...wow.

On paper, it sounds like a sample of one of those lengthy monologues on Family Guy where a character gets into a long tirade about something before flashing back to a made up TV show. But it's not Family Guy, it's sPider-Man and the delivery was superb.

GG: You know what they say! If you can't join them, beat them!

sPidey: You took the words right outta my mouth. Is that a felony?

GG: I certainly hope so! This little Goblin wouldn't be caught dead with a misdemeanor!

sPidey: Ooh! Nice Banter! Your aim could use some work though!

GG: Practice Makes Perfect!

SM: Yeah, you keep telling yourself that.

Nice Banter indeed! I look forward to more of these in the future. Maybe deep existential arguments dotted with the explosions of pumpkin bombs.

And finally,
#1

MJ: But if I can't dance with Pete, I guess I'll dance with...it's Randy, right?

Randy: Very.

o_O; Justice League, is that you? Were you reincarnated from cancellation as The sPectacular sPider-Man? Because if the interwoven continuity and good writing didn't tip me off, that blatant piece of innuendo which you were so famous for sure did!

I usually groan when villains say "darn". It's like their parents raised 'em well enough not to curse but not well enough to avoid becoming criminals and terrorists. But it worked better when Goblin said it than when Montana did back in episode one on account of his unpredictable nature.

well u have to remember, this is a cartoon that is also for kids. and this is an american cartoon, unlike anime shows which most of them have cursing. It's intersting how a kids cartoon in Japan can be so incredibly different with censorship compared to american cartoons

Ratcrawler

I realize that of course, but I'd rather the character found a way around needing to "non-swear" anyway. If you think about it, "Well darn." wasn't necessary to cap off that sentence at all. Gobby could have just as easily said, "Seriously?" or nothing at all. But like I said, in some twisted way it worked for him. I guess cuz GG isn't supposed to seem that intimidating until he's hurling bombs at you.

Changing the subject, I wonder if KidsWB will change "It's Randy, right?" "Very." The next time Catalysts airs. They've done this at least twice before. Once in an episode of The Batman where Batman says "A blind man walks into a bar. He says ouch." in the episode, the next time it aired they dropped the word "blind". I guess all the blind kids watching were offended.

The other instance was an episode of Pokemon where Meowth said "Damn the Sharpedo!" referencing the famous quote (and subsequent Tom Petty Album name) "Damn the torpedoes!" by Admiral David Farragut. Line was changed to "Dang the Sharpedo!"

Thought someone might enjoy that. Anyway, it's time for another list...

Top 10 "Invisible Hand" Quotes

10Peter: You planned this!? Aunt May, you're an evil mastermind!
This line exemplifies what a clever old dame AILF May is. Plus, it's somewhat ironic he call her that after meeting the biggest crime boss in New York.

9sPidey: Wait! Wait!

Rhino: What?

sPidey: Weight!
Ha ha, get it, cuz sPidey dropped a whole bunch of weights on Rhino? Yeah, I guess you need closed captioning to get that one... moving on.

8Peter: You're only four years older. When you're 70 and I'm 66, I'll seem like quite the catch!
A great line for any guy whose ever had a crush on an older woman.

7Peter: You wouldn't know her, Flash. She's twenty years old and hot!
And really, isn't that what we're all looking for in a woman? This line is great because it actually sounds like something a high school kid would say and not just something a high school kid would say on a children's program. Unlike Bruce Wayne in "The Batman" who only saw women as 'fellow human beings' (Haw!) and occasional 'beards' to maintain his millionaire playboy image, Peter Parker is genuinely interested in the opposite sex and he'll brag about almost maybe definitely bringing a hot older woman to a high school dance.

6Rhino: Hit 22 please. These don't work so good on little buttons.
Awww, he coulda threatened to rip little Foswell to shreds but instead opted to be polite about it. I guess Mama O'Hirn didn't do such a terrible job after all!

5sPidey: First Marko becomes Sandman, now this? What's Big Man's next move? Turning Flash Thompson into the Beligerrent Bug Zapper?
It makes fun of the fact that people sPider-Man knows are turning into "Freaks of the week." Plus, it's a funny name.

4sPidey: Come one, come all! Before your very eyes, the world's LARGEST dehydrated turtle!
Even when the only other person within earshot is a nearly unconsious super mercenary, sPider-Man is simply committed to cracking jokes. He could have just casually said it, but he decided to throw in the extra showmanship for the hell of it. Plus, after calling Rhino "Hippo" and "Moose", Turtle felt about right.

3sPidey: This always works in cartoons! ... Television SO cannot be trusted.
Yet another line that pokes fun at the show itself. At face value, it reminds us that we are in fact watching a cartoon. But if you think about it, this episode was rife with inconsistencies of physics. It featured this incredibly heavy character going up a public elevator to the twenty second floor where his stomping foot shattered said floor yet nobody fell through to the twenty first. He falls out through the wall when sPider-Man grabs him with TWO web lines which snap under his weight --though they have no problems catching flying cars-- dropping him into his own crater. No bones or organs are broken thankfully, and he runs around smashing headfirst into a sPeeding tractor trailer from which the NON-armored driver runs away completely unharmed. Rhino then smashes bowling balls under his feet while casually walking prompting our hero to say this line. To top it all off, a beautiful, incredibly cool girl enthusiastically shows up on the doorstep of a poor loser to take him to the dance. WE CAN ONLY SUSpEND OUR DISBELIEF SO FAR!

2Lincoln: In my life, I've been called many names. My favorite is Tombstone.
Probably the best delivered super-villain introduction to date. All the others were more or less, sPur of the moment epiphanies, accepting the fact that the person they were had given way to a seductive new identity. But Lincoln might as well have been the multi-epitheted devil himself when he said that.

1MJ: Face it Tiger. You just hit the jackpot.
Maybe this is fanservice, but honestly, no matter how well written this episode was, would anybody forgive me if this line wasn't number one? Not only is it one of the most famous lines in comic book history, (one that Sam Raimi shamelessly left out of the movies) but it was delivered so perfectly. She conveyed a strong yet subtle confidence in knowing that she IS a catch and played off perfectly against Peter's initial shock. Take THAT Kirsten Dunst!

And now it's time for the top ten quotes of Competition

10AILF May: Oh, Peter. You lead such a sheltered life.
Oh, Peter's unreasonably attractive geriatric aunt, if only you knew... *The half-mask was priceless*

9Gwen: You don't actually call her "Miss Brant" in person, do you?
Only in the bondage gear, Gwenny.

8Sandman: Ah, Man! My Money!
Probably the funniest delivery in this episode. Well, that and...

7Hammerhead: There ya go. Ya got your sand legs, your sand clothes...heeeyyyy! And now you're in color!
Considering how Hammy usually has an intimidating (if somewhat cliche) Brooklyn Mobster accent, hearing him talk like a kindly uncle encouraging a 5 year old to ride a two wheeler just brings out a smile.

6Officer Policeman: This ain't a problem we can fix. Cordon off the area! And pray that sPidey can handle the freak.
There's a subtlety to what's great about this line. It shows that the NYPD resPect what sPidey does for them and actually relies on him from time to time as opposed to trying to arrest him for vigilantism. I wonder how long that'll last. Also, any hinting at a religious act (prayer) in today's remarkably secular cartoon business is semi noteworthy.

5Flash: Unbelievable. The geeks are inheriting the Earth.
Oh my God, Flash actually made a remotely clever play on words there! Based of course on "The Meek shall inherit the Earth." from...the Bible. Oh, I see what's going on here... Dammit, SSM stop shoving your religious propaganda down our throats!

4Otto: What have we done? What do we do?

Norman: We sweep up and try again.
Close the window, I'm getting a chill!

3Harry: Hi mom. Dad.

Norman: Harry. What happened to you? And what's with the Helmet? Going to a costume party?

Harry: I'm trying out for the team.

Norman: Football? Not really your strong suit, is it?

Emily: ...*looks down at food and continues eating*...

Harry: Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
Seriously! Can somebody get the sPace heater out of the closet!? It is icy cold over here! I don't think Mrs. Osborne minds because she's apparently dead inside but temperature dramatically falls whenever Norman opens that smart mouth of his!

2Sand: Yeah! No, wait. Revenge is for chumps! I don't care about sPider-Man. All I ever wanted was the Big Score! And now I have the power to get it!
Sandman's not supposed to be deep. And doesn't need an "I'm not a bad guy, I've just had alot of bad luck." complex like he did in the movie. He's just a man with no discernible talents outside the criminal variety and now he can do those better than ever. Even with all the trouble he's had, he never held a grudge against sPider-Man. He just does what he loves.

1sPidey: The hammer thing's getting old, pal.

Nothing, Silver, unless you want the ACLU busting your balls LOL. Thank you all for the kind words. :)

Reaction aired today and man, oh man, did it have some marvelous quippage. I think I'll start this list, however, with an under-the-radar line.

10Otto: I've been good!
Actually, this might have been the dumbest line in the show but the truth is, last words are seldom eloquent or well put. I say last words because at that point Otto lost his last shred of innocence and the kindly little underling we've gotten to know this season was no more. And so, the context of that line was made all the more heartbreaking in regards to his inevitable personality change.

9sPidey: You can thank me later, dude!
Sure, sPider-Man's saved hundreds of lives, but webbing a cute little nerd to a Ten like that was tight. (And it probably got a little tighter iffen ya know what I'm sayin'...;))

8Pete: Heh heh heh. I guess I've got sticky fingers.
From anyone else, this line might have warranted an "Eww!" but it works for him. What makes it even better, for me personally, is that I've got a t-shirt featuring sPidey as a DJ called "sPidey Sticky Fingahz"

7JJJ: Foswell! Lee! Am I paying you to hide in here!? Nevermind! Whaddya think of my son, Colonel John Jameson!?

Foswell: *blandly* He is a modern day American hero.

JJJ: That's what I like about you, Foswell! You're an objective journalist! Hop on a plane--coach--and get your tuchus down to the cape to cover my son's sPace shuttle launch! No go! Come on! Go!
It came down to this scene or the one where he's dancing with Betty but I chose this one for JJJ's manic run on sentences, cheap nature, and laughable bias. Foswells delivery was excellent too although "He's not really my type, sir." would have been just as funny.

6Flash: Don't worry, sPidey! I got your back!

sPidey: Appreciate the help, fanboy, but keep clear. You're not pretty enough to save twice.

Flash: Right! Right! Smack him one for me!
Flash's contempt for Parker and admiration for his alter ego has always been one of comicdom's most entertaining relationships. This was the first time we really saw it in an episode.

5Flash: *snorts* Typical Puny Parker. Leaves ME holding the bag. Uh, no offense girls.
When exactly did Parker ever leave Flash holding anything? I'm not sure but his inadvertant dis to his girlfriend AND 'mistress' made the line priceless. Which segue's us into...

4sPidey: Subway to Coney Island: $2. Riding Turbulence: $6. Saving Liz Allen: Priceless.
What? I'm not above Master Card commercial references...Nobody is!

3Ock: I...will not...be weak.

Norman: Otto, get up.

Ock: Silence! You Imperious Moron!
Rand, would you handle this one?

Rand: Dude. You want some Aloe Vera for that burn?

Thank you.

2sPidey: Come on, Doc. You're a cephalopod, I'm an arthopod; Can't we just hug it out?
A little something for the nerds and zoologists out there. :) Sorry kids, we can't dumb down all the jokes for you. Go watch Transformers: Animated for that.

1sPidey: Look, Doc, have you thought this through? The next sPider-Man who finds you buried under a pile of debris might view this as a cautionary tale.

Ock: Glib--*pow*--does not--*bam*--equate with clever,--*crash*--sPider-Man!

sPidey: Yeah, well the ratio of arms to sanity hasn't exactly been established either.

Ock: Do you EVER shut up!?

sPidey: Sorry, no. My fans expect a certain amount of quippage in every episode.

Ratcrawler Jr.: What did all that mean?

Not now, junior, the grownups are talking. And there was some fine sPider-quippage (Hello? Webster's? Have I got a word for you!) in this episode indeed. Sadly, "And now back to our regularly scheduled chaos." and "The hobbit took out the breaks!" didn't make it.

This line = giant middle finger to Sam Raimi

Considering the action sequence at the beginning and the "inhibitor chip" in Ock's neck, not so much. But maybe Raimi can hire the show's writer's for part 4...

Another fun throwaway line was Dr. Twaki (tee hee!) telling Ock his megalo-pack was in vault 8 to which he replied "My lucky number."

Ratcrawler mentioned most of my favorites already, but here are some more:

"Hand over the device, you pathetic, four-limbed excuse for a spider!"
Funny 'cuz it's true.

"And your meager thought process is so transparent--'stall until his power runs out.' But this device has another hour of juice at least! And think of all the damage I could do in one hour...starting with the girl..."
I really like how this line sets up Ock as a very different sort of villain for Spider-Man to face, one who can keep up mentally as well as physically.

Ya know, I was just watching the episode again and you're right about that "one hour" line. I definitely overlooked it and it should have been on the list. I'd probably replace Flash's "holding the bag" line with it.

"Mr. Osborn, shouldn't we be helping Spider-man?"
"Knock yourself out."
(looks back, then quickly runs out the door with Norman)

I though it was kind of funny.

"Hey Gwen"
"Oh Peter, I'm glad you're here. Something's really weird with Harry."
"And this suprises you?"
(Gwen gives Peter "the look")
"Okay, okay, not the look."

Once in an episode of The Batman where Batman says "A blind man walks into a bar. He says ouch." in the episode, the next time it aired they dropped the word "blind". I guess all the blind kids watching were offended.

Top 10 Market Forces quotes...

10Ooh! Piece of advice, kid; Perfume doesn't cut it. Tomato juice. Only thing after taking pictures at a dump.
It's not often that JJJ uses his indoor voice, much less to give, ya know, useful advice. Although with tips like that, it's no wonder he doesn't offer up pearls of wisdom more often. This line get's a follow up by AILF May at the end of the episode when she notices Pete smelling like tomato juice.

9O'Hirn: Somethin' smells bad.

sPidey: Oh still!? I washed this costume 5 times!

O'Hirn: You!

sPidey: And now that you troglodytes have deduced that the rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated...I'm--not dead? Nevermind. Just tell Shocker I want a rematch. You can call the cops now.
This exchange continues the hilarious subplot of Parker smelling bad. His entrance is so humorously done and he goes on to quote Mark Twain I believe until realizing that they're too inept to follow. Well done.

8Peter: Um, Carpe Ropum?
Yet another reference to a historical quote, this time being "Carpe Diem", Latin for "Sieze The Day!" To be more accurate, the latin word for rope is "funis" but, considering how this line went over the heads of at least 95% of the audience, it's refreshing to see a Saturday Morning cartoon that ISN'T dumbing down America's kids. I'm talking to YOU, Transformers!

7sPidey: You do this for a living? With that accent Ah wuz thankin' RO-de-O Clawwn!

Shocker: Don't you mock me, boy!

sPidey: I mock! I'm a mocker!
A Shocker Mocker? Oh how cute! And making fun of somebody's accent is always classic!

6sPidey: Impressive! You can hire yourself out as a kiddie ride!
This is a reference to Ultimate sPider-Man #20 where he tells Doc Ock "See, look at this: you don't have to be a lunatic...you could rent yourself out as a children's ride!" So...yeah!

5Peter: So Betty, how do you work for a walking embolism like Jameson?

Betty: Mr. Jameson's a decent man, down deep.

Peter: We talking 'Marianas Trench' deep or 'Dante's 9th Circle' deep?
Seriously, if this show gets one kid to pick up a dictionary to look up embolism it's doing a greater service for this country's children than No Child Left Behind did. I SO wanna use that "9th Circle" crack the next time somebody says something is "deep down inside".

4Eddie: Don't go all Emo on me, bro.
I dunno if it was their intention, but this line seems to foreshadow Pete adopting a negative, guilt-free attitude along with a penchant for tight black clothing...
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3103/1dur5.png
...and we all know where THAT'S going!

3Norman: You wanna pass a test? Study. You wanna be popular? Be popular. Harry, life's pretty simple. You cowboy up and you do what you have to do.
Seriously, if Norman Osbourne wasn't pure evil, he'd be a great role model. Still, these aren't the best coming of age words of wisdom to come from a bad man in this episode. But I'll get to that in a moment...

2AILF May: I've just been visiting with Anna and her niece, Mary Jane; A lovely girl! Peter, you MUST meet her!

Peter: What's she like?

AILF May: Oh! She has a WONDERFUL personality!

Peter: *shudders*
But wait! There's more!
Later...
Peter: Could probably ask Mary Jane Watson.

Harry: Mary Who What-now?

Peter: Oh, this girl Aunt May wants me to meet. Get this; She has a "Wonderful Personality!"

*Double Shudders*
Sadly, this is an accurate assessment of male behavior. But OH was ever cleverly put!

1sPidey: What did your friendly neighborhood sPider-Man ever do to you!?

Shocker: Oh, 't ain't nothin' personal, hoss. Simple Truth is if a man's a man, he honors his resPonsibilities.

The fact that Peter quotes this to his AILF at the end of the episode, using it to explain why he'd rather help her pay bills than get himself a camera he needs, sPeaks volumes. EsPecially considering the source was a hitman hired to kill him. This line, probably more than any other, exemplifies this show's premise and that is "The Education of Peter Parker". Props.

The Top Ten "Uncertainty Principles" Quotes...

10Gobby: Oh, I'm sorry. Hammerhead can't come to the phone right now. He's a bit "tied up"! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! Gotta love the classics.
Immensely cheesy I know BUT, sPeaking from personal experience, even if you've seen that scenario in cartoons a hundred times, when you actually DO have somebody tied up and tell somebody this it IS hilarious.

9John: Anyone know a good body shop up here?
John Jameson the way he ought to be: Lovable!

8sPidey: Next time you throw a bash, Gobby, leave out snacks. Your guests will stay longer.

Gobby: Oh, how embarassing. But at least I brought party favors!
We didn't have a whole lot in the way of banter in this ep but I thought this line was cute.

7MJ: Whoa, PomPoms to yourself, big guy. I like you but I won't be your replacement girl. This redhead's a free agent and plans to keep it that way.
I'm seriously amazed at how this recurring character version of Mary Jane has more depth and charm than the leading lady in 7 hours worth of sPider-Man movies. Also, I love the sound of Flash's boobs deflating when she pushed him away.

6Harry: A few blackouts are a small price to pay. So sPare me your concern. My life's great.
Whether or not Harry was actually the Goblin may still be up in the air but damned if he didn't sound like a super-villain/junkie right there!

5Hammerhead: Can't be afraid of what you don't resPect. And I've only ever resPected one man enough to fear.
The first line is a great take-along to use in a situation when threatened. Great little life lesson. The second gives insight as to how badass Tombstone must be.

4Norman: Why would you do something so dangerous!? So stupid!?

Harry: For you! YOU told me to man up! So I took the Green to become the son you always wanted me to be. To become a "man" like you!

Norman: I told you to cowboy up.

Harry: What?

Norman: And you couldn't even get that right!
Wait a second... Wha...?

3MJ: Gotta say, Tiger, you fill out that costume nicely.

Liz: Very nicely. You can web me up anytime, Petey.
OH SNAP!!! OH SNA-HA-HA-HAP!!! DUDE!!! DUDE, YOU ARE IN!!! YOU ARE SO F-ING IN!!!

2Gobby: We all wear masks, sPider-Man but which one is real? The one that hides your face? Or the one that IS your face?
A line that just might triple in coolness if, as some fans theorize, it was actually Chameleon disguised as Green Goblin who said this.

1JJJ: The people have sPoken. Get that traitor Parker in here and lock him to an exclusive deal. If they want sPider-Man, we'll give them sPider-Man. Here's tomorrow's front page headline; "SpIDER-MAN: THREAT OR MENACE?"
Up until now, JJJ's pretty much just been a charicature of JK Simmons' interpretation and, as fans have complained, not as vindictive of sPider-Man as he should be. But now he actually has a reason. In an explanation that echoes Ultimate JJJ's, the man is simply fed up with people idolizing some freak who hides behind a mask when his own son has stepped up and proven his mettle to a public that just doesn't care as much. It's a climactic point in his character arc and caps off with a classic Bugle headline.

Honorable mention goes to Hammerhead for "Keep laughing, Kermit! I hear green is the new black 'n blue!"

he was only a an insecure nerd in the very first issue, unfortunatly because of the movies everyone thinks he's supposed to be like that all the time
I always thought he was shy as Peter Parker, but when he was Spiderman he had a major confidence boost. And that was why he always made wisecracks as Spiderman, but not so much as Peter.

nah Petes pretty much just as funny as spider-man is in the comics, in the early issues he wasn't as humorous, but he wasn't shy either, he always spoke his mind and stood up for himself

I don't have the exact quote, but when Peter comes into Jameson's office to complain about how the headline says Spider-Man stole the alien, there's this exchange (which I'll paraphrase):

JAMESON: "Parker, I only have one word to say to you: Out! Not enough? How about two words: Get out! Still not enough? How about seventeen: Get your lazy butt out of my office or so help me I will have you fired!"

PETER(dumbfounded): How did you...count the words before you...?

One of those truly genuine LOL moments.

That part was great. But the quote was:
"Boss I'd like a word."
"How about scram, or two words, scram kid, or seventeen, get out of my office in two point three seconds or I'll staple you to a flagpole."
"How did you count so..."

jjj is an editor and has been for years it would stand to reason he is really good at counting words quickly as he would have to come up with fast snappy bylines in a limited amount of space so has got this down to a fine art.

The way Chameleon said "Spider-punch" was funny, made even better by Spidey's follow up.

Black Cat: So are we going to be bad guys together? Or are we going to be just plain baaaaad?

Cat said that when her and Spidey's web/cat rope were getting intertwined. :hehe:

My favorite quote of the episode. Honorable mentions go to Black Cat's "Kitty sense" line and JJJ's "seventeen words" line (not to mention Peter's reaction)

I have to wonder how Chameleon and BC were aware of Peter's spider-sense when they made fun of it, does Peter actually say "My Spider-Sense is tingling!" out loud?

In the older stories he did. Seriously, I'd keep that kinda thing to myself.
Cat may not have known about his spider-sense. She may have just been spouting off more innuendo.
