View Full Version : WSS Game: London
Mr.E.Nigma
04-26-2008, 12:01 AM
I thought i should start the thread for everyone who is over here in the UK to play our london game for the 28th
I wont be able to get down to london which is a shame but i should be here for the online part of the game
so if you need someone online i'll give my number to someone privately the day before
so use this thread to organize everyone going down to St. James' Square in London. The closest train station to it is Piccadilly Circus!
UPDATE
now you must go around the corner from St.James' Square to a new destination. Directions are written out below but i have alos posted a link to a map showing the two points below aswell
the location has changed but only slightly down the road
here is a routed direction step by step from st.james' to the new destination around the corner
1. Head southeast on St James's Square toward A4/Pall Mall 322 ft
2. Turn right at A4/Pall Mall 0.2 mi
3. Slight left at Pall Mall 79 ft
4. Turn left at Marlborough Rd 0.1 mi
5. Turn left at The Mall
and you arrive at new destination a short 5 mins walk
click below for a map with directions

if you want to be a part of the online segment of this game i will be online but set to "busy playing joker game" so that only the people helping will be able to talk to me
we should all calloborate guys and get some form of structure going and a meet time for those on the ground.
this goes to everyone who is or wants to be in Mission Control
just be online [msn and add me first, internet whysoserious etc] 7-8 pm ready to add to the group chat. i'll will give all of you your certain job as i have a few and then we all figure out questions and puzzles etc to quickly send the info to a designated phone number which will be decided tomorrow
i will be following each step via internet maps [which means i would probably be on the phone to someone the whole time] and save were you guys have been and post it on here at the end
lets get out there and put a smile on that face

Do we not have to get there until 9pm?
If so I could possible go after work! Hmmm

I'm going to get there early as I have the day off, then get a late train home.

So it's 9pm on Monday is it, at St James Square? Hmmm, I'm gonna try and get there, although I'm meant to start work at 10, so I'll have to see if I can get someone to cover for me until later, and pick me up...
Anyone else thats going, wanna meet up slightly earlier and get the 'introductions' out of the way and then 'team' it through the event?
Also, the note mentions putting a smile on your face, is Mr J just implying we have fun, or we doing make up again?
jezza
04-26-2008, 05:36 AM
I probably won't be doing the make up thing, although I might bring some with me for emergency purposes. lol
I think we should all meet somewhere a couple of hours before at picadilly station maybe?

Parliament is in the direction of the local iMax?
The Imax is in Waterloo so no where near i'm affraid.
They are also showing Shine a Light at that time so I doubt that will be the place. http://www.bfi.org.uk/whatson/calendar/imax/day/20080428
There are loads of smaller cinemas in the surrounding area of Picadilly Circus though. I imagine it will be one of those.

well, you'd walk past it to get to the IMAX kinda. It's approx 2 mils from St James' Square to the IMAX btw. Easily walkable.

ActuallyRobin
04-26-2008, 11:14 AM
I'd say they were about equidistant. Then again if i went to Picc Circus I'd have to change from the Victoria line so that'd eat up a few minutes. May as well just get off at Green Park and walk. Actually depending on when I arrive in London I could prolly just walk from Victoria to St James' Square.

I am on holiday here in London. I am staying at a hotel across from the new scotland yard. I will be in the square on monday. I re conned(sp) the square today, there are parking restrictions for the 27th. could they be setting up something or is the square popular for other events?
I will not be missing this game.
I have an iPhone and will make the web, email, speakerphone available to for the use of the team.
Since I have a U.S. phone number calling me may get costly. But I am on an international plan and can call anyone here in the U.K. to get/pass on info.

Although I guess it'll be night so I might not want to scare people.
the people that are around this part of town, i think, need a good scare.
especially the kind of scare a bunch of Jokers can put into them.

This looks great. Lots of people on board now.
We should update the main page and work out whos doing what also we need to work out who is gonna take the numbers of the Internet team.
In terms of the iMax, it would be great to have something on there but the programme shows that they are showing The Rolling Stones film at 9 so I dont know if that will be the place.

Have we got an up to date list of who here is going to be 'ground assigned' and who's being 'Oracle' for the night? Having read through the last couple of pages, the list on the front page has been nearly doubled by my estimate...

Hey Lurker :word:
Welcome to The Hype.
Personnally speaking, the more the better.
We have some online sources so we should be covered for that side of things. Several people have already made arrangements to meet so it maybe worth just having a quick flick through the last few pages if you havent already. Just brings you up to speed.

I would think that Mr.E.Nigma or the fantastical girlfiriend of Jezza would be Oracle.
All i need is a phone # to stay patched in to either.
I hope that prior to Monday night Mr.E.Nigma updates the list, this way we can have a better idea how big the SHH Team is.
Oh and as for the make up, I think Mr. J has stated that we need to be all smiles. I will stop by Boots and get wipes for those who are traveling after, but I'll still need to borrow.

I just thought being an American and into Batman you might have been a member.
It's great if you into the Batsuit (all variations), and seeing peoples interpretations (some of em are outstanding!) and tutorials on costume making.
Other than that it's probably just as good as it is here.

St James' Square is relatively small, and there's a statue in the middle. Let's just say we all meet by that statue instead of loitering around? And once a sizable group of people who don't look like tourists assembles then just join that crowd I suppose?
Plus if anyone's got the make-up that's a give away too.
Gah I've got exams and then lectures on Monday, it'll be nice having this to look forward to :P

I don't know how to make me recognizable to everyone. Hmmm... I might go up with my dad and my dad looks just like Phil Margera (you know, Bam's dad). If you see a Phil look a like that'll be my dad and I'll be with him.... In a batman t-shirt of course.
