Let me say that this looks fantastic:
- Ock's voice has changed from meek and geeky to powerful and arrogant
- Love his trenchcoat look combined with the classic look
- Lots of fast maneuvering tentacle action. Ock pursuing Spidey at high speeds thru the city, on a ferris wheel etc
- Ock's tentacles seem to have weaponry in them like in Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man
- Classic traits like Spidey webbing Ock's shades, Spidey getting on Ock's nerves with his smart mouth...."SILENCE!"
- Looks like Ock and Spidey fight in a lab, the city rooftops, and at an amusement park.

I doubt that's how it happens. I think Ock and Spidey's battle begins somewhere else, and finishes up there. Kind of like how they started fighting on a clock tower and ended up on a train in Spider-Man 2.

That Cheeks guy does an amazing job with the designs of the characters; what I thought were flaws actually look good with the animation.
But, just wondering; I won't be able to watch "Reaction", and if I get some time to watch it later when I return home or what not, where could I watch it besides YouTube since WB has since put a ban with episodes on that site, lol.
And, yes, I know a lot of people would ask that question, but I have a computer that doesn't work with much media players except QuickTime, so most sites that shows videos won't work.

The voice acting on this show is incredible. Josh Keaton may very well be my favorite Peter/Spidey voice and Blum was incredible as GG. Sounded the most sinister and most threatening as any GG voice I've ever heard. Norman Osborn sounds excellent, too. Mary Jane has that hot, soothing voice unlike the 12 year old sounding voice she had in the 90's.
And now Otto. Otto's voice is definitely one of my MOST favorite voices on the show. He sounds so quiet and feeble that when he transforms into the arrogant, pissed off Doctor Octopus...chins will drop. Doc Ock sounds exactly as how I imagine him in the books and it won't be hard to top his German accent voice from the 90's because...well, I just don't think of a German guy when reading the books. Ock sounds ACE.
Can't wait.

If they're planning on doing the Master Planner storyline and the Sinister Six, then it's definitely a wonderful combination of both.
Ock should be power hungry, but also have a lust for dipatching any enemies who have crossed him, or continually cross him.

Agreed, and speaking of the Master Planner Ock, I wonder what they will add/change to the story? However, I'm very sure they will have Spidey trapped over a ton of debris, just like in the story. I also think it would be so awesome if we saw Ock fighting Spidey inside that water tank or something, just like in ASM Annual #1.

Well.....if I remember correctly at the end of the Rhino episode Hammerhead basically threatened to expose Norman's activities and link him to sandman and rhino. When Norman told him there was no way to link him Hammerhead mentioned Octavious. Norman may feel that he needs to set Otto up for an accident. Problem eliminated.

How does Doc Ock get that green suit on under the tentacle holders that surrounds his belly, isn't that thing forever welded to his flesh and bones?

Isn't welding just between metals? I get what you're saying about the suit though. I've always thought, it's got to be a pain in the @$$ to get dressed with those tentacles.

Yes, they first surgically removed his tentacles from his body in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, the first Sinister Six story.
But, he still retained the mental link with his tentacles, and was still able to mentally command them even though they were not attached to his body.

Hot on the trail of Goblin and instead runs into a newly formed Ock. That sounds most likely to happen. Do you mean that Spidey is chasing Green Goblin into Oscorp? If so, then that work very well. Also, I think Spidey searching Oscorp for any clues and then Ock shows up would work very well as well.

I agree. That armor was completely pointless. It didn't protect him. It didn't do anything special. It was completely out of character for a man who just wanted to fund his experiments. (By any means necessary, of course.)

For the most part, Ock has been an out-of-shape man. But dont let his appearance fool you, for his tentacles will do the answering. Also, the Spectacular Spider-Man Otto Octavius, is a short fat little guy who is very timid, you wouldn't expect him to go ape**** but yet, here we are.

I always liked when artists drew Doc Ock FAT. Simply because his body size was different from the usual muscle men, that we're accustomed to seeing in villains. I also really thought that Peter and Liz sort of likeing eachother is a nod to the comics as well, so I can't wait to see where that goes. :wow::up:
Agreed. I totally enjoyed this episode. The small references to SM1 & 2 were freaking awesome. Loved the MJ/Flash relationship, hehe.

I gave it an 8. Other then Ock being a bad***, the earlier stories didn't advance too much. We're still in complete mystery with who's GG and there wasn't much setup for later episodes like the Shocker episode.
It was still a great episode though.

Yea today's episode was pretty good. Loved the nod to sm2 with ock's creation. The fights were good to with spiderman and ock. The power source thing was a cool concept. Ock was very menacing in the episode. It was neat he saved both gwen and mj and then liz too. Yea sucks mj was blowing him off a bit for flash, hopefully she doesnt end up with flash. Harry is getting with with his addiction to the goblin forumla and nice to see gwen looking out for him. Hopefully there is more connection going on with pete, gwen, and harry. As for goblin's id hopefully norman is still the first goblin for the show and he seems like he is also nice it if he is doesnt remember when he is goblin. Next week looks cool and i cant wait. Sad to see liz and flash breaking up and she does seem to like petey alot lately.

What the hell. My TV guide said that it was coming on at 10:30 so i set my alarm to 10:30 and its ending :csad:
Wow, that sucks man. That's why I usually set my alarm clock about a half an hour early. I started that because I thought I missed the premiere episode, but luckily I didn't.
As for the episode, I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't the greatest episode, but that's some pretty tough competition. Fortunately, Doc Ock was better than I thought he was going to be; and I like how the Goblin story is developing.

Yay! So glad to see you guys loved this episode. So Ock was awesome eh. As if there was any doubt :otto:
And GG1964, you didn't honestly expect them to reveal the Goblin's identity in Ock's episode, did you? ;)

I'm actually wondering whether it will be Harry or Norman. Last week I was convinced that Harry was just a ploy to throw the audience off, but now (and I hate to admit this), I'm seriously baffled.
Both have reasons as to why they would want to become GG. Harry wants to take down his father's empire by attacking Oscorp and getting him into trouble with the Big Man (a simply flashback can explain how Harry learned about his father's dubious activities). But then again, Norman is comic-accurate and could be attacking people to get on top while trying to cut loose ends (Dr. Ock)

But I guess that's for next week's episode so whatever :oldrazz: There was also a cool little sequence where we can see the inside of Ock's body and the tentacles actually welding onto his bones. Loved that part.

X the Eliminator is Doc Ock's voice! That was extremely weird. Granted, he didn't sound goofy like in Harvey Birdman, but there's no way to shake the thought of X when hearing him.
Harry's addiction was heavily played upon here. Who is the Green Goblin? Harry? Norman? Someone else? Who knows...
Being a Doc Ock episode (the 1st at that) I was expecting to be blown away. Like every episode so far, I enjoyed this one, but its far from my favorite. Incidentally, the best moments were with the supporting cast. MJ & Flash? Liz & Peter?! Gwen dealing with Harry?! Sally being a ******...the sub-plot, for the 1st time, ursurped the main plot.
I'm probably the one and only one who thinks this way, but the Spidey-Movie referrences are becoming way too frequent. Seeing Spidey stop a runaway truck in the fashion of Spidey stopping the speeding train from SM2 (hey! The Doc Ock movie!) actually made me cringe. It was done proper (no, not properly. I do mean proper), but enough! We get it! Spider-Man movies! How about more direct-from-Stan Lee comic-era referrences and less "mainstream 'even the non-fans and purists will get it because the movies are recent'" refs for the die-hards?
Well, someone will probably post a detailed review for those who missed it here. Won't be me, though. I just wanted to post my 2 cents.

Well, I was right over Peter being at Coney Island for a date. I just didn't think it would be with Liz.
Thought Sally's reaction to the entire incident was semi-hilarious, how absorbed can a girl be in her own little world?!
Slightly more credit to the idea of Harry being the Goblin.
John's off, and we know who he's bringing back...
Still no proper interaction between Gwen and MJ, nuts...

Liz with Peter was great. Good to see her character develop. Sally, on the other hand...well every series needs the character you love to hate.
Seriously, Liz here is like Kong from USM and Sally is like Liz with her mutantphobia from USM.

Norman is a lying piece of crap. I think he sabotaged the experiment as the Goblin and now the person he is looking to unmask is Spiderman. Harry is nothing more than a Red Herring.

Or it could be even worse with Norman having brainwashed Harry to do his dirty work.
If Norman was fully responsible, wouldn't he have made totally sure the accident would kill Otto or was he trying to be make another villain?
And would he really have destroyed his own lab and lost Octavius before taking all he could from him?

I think he thought such an accident would have killed him but Otto just survived. I think Norman was wanted to eliminate Otto because of his knowledge of everything that was going on with the illegal activities. Plus the fact he is just insane.

How about the GG being a side-effect/split persona of Norman taking the Green Gobuline formula behind the scenes, and while Norman did want something to happen to Otto, it was the GG that acted on that?

My theory on why Goblin can't be Harry:
The season finale will be a falling out between friends Peter and Brock as Spider-Man vs. Venom. If we learned that Green Goblin was Peter's friend as well, then the finale would have no weight to it.
The writers are trying to be as comic accurate as possible, too. Norman is definitely the Emerald Elf. Harry is just drugging himself up.

You probably ARE the only one who feels that way. LOL. C'mon, this series references everything. Hell, they turned Sally Avril into a cast regular. sPeaking of whom...
Thought Sally's reaction to the entire incident was semi-hilarious, how absorbed can a girl be in her own little world?!
I thought that too until I watched the scene again. Peter was already taking photos of Ock getting arrested and when he returned to "the clique" they were all facing Liz & Flash so Pete really was asking about their drama.
Well, I was right over Peter being at Coney Island for a date. I just didn't think it would be with Liz.
I'm loving these crazy love pentagons like I'm loving Latin Liz. And in civvies too! Someone needs to dedicate a thread to the ladies of SSM.
Still no proper interaction between Gwen and MJ, nuts...
True but MJ got down to protect Gwen from a good Ock-Stomping, so the latter CAN'T hate the former for stealing Pete at the dance earlier. EsPecially now that he's all cuddly with Liz.
How about the GG being a side-effect/split persona of Norman taking the Green Gobuline formula behind the scenes, and while Norman did want something to happen to Otto, it was the GG that acted on that?
Yeah, I'll go with the Schizo theory. Norman could have been using the GG formula longer than Harry and this prolonged usage would have effects on his warped mind. Also, the drug metaphore is a beaut.
Honestly though, desPite all the red herrings, the only way I'd be surprised at this point would be if Rod Kingsley turned out to be GG.
Did anyone see when Gwen fell down and Harry just leaped over her? That was hillarious.
Only because it was in slow motion but yeah. :)
