View Full Version : Not that this movie is related to the comic in any way, but . . .

I think it looks awesome! I dig the idea of all the custom bullets and gun play. It should have a different title though, since they have changed so much of the story and characters elements.

It still has some recognition to the novel. I mean, Wesley and Fox...

According to Mark Millar it's 70% the same as the comics, which is more than V for Vendetta anyway.

Yeah, I read a quote from Mark Millar recently where he basically said that the confusion came in about the FIRST DRAFT of the script, which was nothing like the original comic - that's where all those rumors started. It's been through multiple rewrites since then, getting closer and closer to the original comic with each draft. He said the final script for the movie is pretty close to the comic, other than changing "supervillains" to "assassins" (although James McAvoy made a comment about perhaps exploring that in the sequel) - accodring to Millar, some of the scenes in the movie even use the exact same dialogue as the comic, word for word!

This is good news!!! I'm glad they are sticking to the main plot of the comic. The last trailer I saw did look alot like the book other than Assassins instead of super villians. I personally like this concept though I mean, I really don't think America is ready to see a movie that praises its main character for raping and killing people when ever he wants. (plus the poop monster was already done in Dogma LOL.)

So says you. look at how everyone was getting worried about the new pic of two face was going to make the dark knight get an R rating and make parents hate it. What do you think would happen if the movie was 100% accurate to the book

See, this is exactly what I was afraid might happen with "Wanted", and why I was so glad that Universal announced they'd stick to their guns on that "R" rating. The source material dictates that it HAD to be an "R" - there was no two ways around it. Too often, studios kill a good project by trying to water it down and get a better rating, thinking that it will mean better ticket sales. That technique only works with SOME movies, and usually comic book movies aren't those movies. I don't mind FF4 not being an "R" movie, because the original comic was never an "R"-style of comic. "Elektra", though, is all about violence (of course, it also would have helped if the script had ANYTHING to do with the original comics :oldrazz:).
I don't think anything could have saved "Catwoman" though... short of an "X" rating, heh heh. :cwink:

MPAA Ratings should only exist to let audiences know what type of things to expect in a movie. There should be no age or legal restrictions. I'm excited to see Wanted, I hope it ROCKS!

I agree - "Wanted" is in my top 5 movies coming out this summer. I'll be there for the 12:01 a.m. opening screening, that's for sure! :woot:

People cheer for characters like Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy.
And the dark knight doesn't count because Batman is marketed as a kids superhero.
