I personally can do without the one where he had a "nose" on his faceplate:huh::whatever:, & the "Heroes Reborn" design (I know, I know-blasphemy! How dare I besmirch the name of the great & awesome Jim Lee!) was just too...busy for me.

Model XV. I loved the version before this one, when he upgrades from the Silver Centurion, but this one, I just could never stand those boots.

I'm not well versed in the many armors IM has worn over the years but I do know I prefer him having a circular emblem on his chest rather than the triangular/diamond shaped ones.
On a side note, the Jim Lee IM looks like he's wearing a banana hammock.:csad:

And they were the ONLY thing wrong w/the suit, IMO. 1 bad accessory can obviously wreck an entire costume.

That's easy; the belt pouches. They were almost mandatory on 90's outfits, whether anything was actually carried in them or not.

The nose- Just stupid. "It was supposed to strike fear and terror in the hearts of his enemies" I always picture Hawkeye laughing his ass off after hearing this.
The JRJR design with the moon boots-Ruined a great design. The slim boots and gauntlets on Classic II looked great; these looked like he was wearing oil barrels on his feet and Hi-C cans on his arms.
Heroes reborn- My 12 year old cousin back in the day once remarked "He looks like he has hockey sticks on his back" regarding the boot jet exhausts. What would a guy in a high-tech super powered suit of armor need with belts and pouches anyway.

My son keeps asking me why they've got Iron Man looking like Juggernaut.
I doubt any Hulkbuster suit could ever possibly be worth a damn unless it was gamma-powered.

why would they build an armor with fake muscles..? I mean, check these legs..
Chris Wallace
10-19-2008, 04:11 PM
Many of his early suits had muscles built into them. I've stopped trying to understand it. I think it's the thing I love most about his movie suit-his best suit ever, in my opinion.

That nose face plate was horrible.
Abstract

I think the nose was more a reference point for the artists and the audience so they knew what he was looking at. I've never understood the muscles though, or the subtle facial expressions of the face plate.

Yeah.. people see a nose and start running. Wait, what? That was really their idea..?

Could be. Way back in the early to mid-90's, Marvel issued a monthly Preview book (similar to the one they have now, only it wasn't married to Diamond's Previews) & every month they had a section which they called "Marvel's Silliest Moments". It covered such debacles as the Thing becoming a pirate, Galactus trying to eat Impossible Man's planet, &, of course, the Iron Man nose.
Oddly, though, I think the 90's as a whole qualifies as one of Marvel's silliest moments.
here's another awful suit..

That is a SLICK looking Hulkbuster suit, yeah its not a comic version, a videogame one, but if they decide to bring that into the films, i wouldn't mind.

Well it does say young Tony Stark on the cover which explains the babyish eyes....he hasn't matured yet. :hehe:
Haha. Funny how the word disaster is in there too.
