The film barely started shooting, and already some are bashing it. Those who are optimistic, post here.

I'm always optimistic about 90% of the movies i go to see....

There is no way... short of the entire TF cast performing a can-can in pink tutus outside of the white house.... that i'm not going to enjoy this movie.

I just hope the optimistic people on here are a bit louder than before, I'd like to see this thread keep up, or overtake, the post count of the whiners thread

I seem to remember more "optimists" coming into the Negatron threads starting **** with those so called "whiners" than vice versa.

I can count on one hand how many times i went into the Negatron thread for TF1... the whiners comment was based soley on the number of posts the thread had over the 'happy' thread.

Honestly I feel sorry for the Transformers fans who didn't like the first one. It would suck to be a fan and expect so much and then for one reason or another not like it. Cause here you are, a transformers fan and the biggest thing to happen to TF since the 80's comes about and instead of renewing your love for the franchise, it crushes you and you don't even like transformers anymore... that must be a ****y feeling. Then here you have all the people who like it with a revived appreciation for the stories and childhood memories

I don't think they had more posters just posters that posted a lot more, the ones looking forward to the movie tended to post in the news threads more.

So far i am loving the look of the steel mill sequence and the talk of 20 bots! and while i am not a Shia fangirl i am on the "Shia is awesome" team. :woot: :up:

The only movie that I thought came even close to being as good as TF1 that came out last year(action movie wise) was Live Free or Die Hard. Thats only because Starscream had a cameo in it:yay:. No but seriously, this move is going to kick so much negatron butt. You can call me Masterpiece Optimist Prime.

The only problem I have with TF2 is that it's like a million years away, wait thats a lie my other problem is I can't decide who I'm looking forward to more, Ultra Magnus(hopefully he's in it), Soundwave or the constructicons.... or the other robots I don't even know about yet. :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

It looks absolutely terrible to me. :csad: I know that they all don't have to be hot vehicles...in fact i'd like to see more everyday cars as Autobots, but for me to take an Autobot/s walking around with a gun in one hand and a frickin' ice-cream cone on his back serious, is pushing it.

Indeed, and some positives have come out of production, most notable would be some of the new vehicles being introduced. The Chevy Beat and Trax are a nice selection, they don't stand out to much (they are robots in disguise:oldrazz:) yet are nice to look at. Plus I don't mind BB's upgrade.

I also like the fact they are going to be using a vehicle that is more common over this side of the pond... Sadly not in a TF role but still it looks like the Saturn Astra will have a major part in what is looking to be a interesting battle/Chase scene

From what I can gather the Astra might belong to one of Sam's friends, either Ramon or Isabel's characters, and I think they were leaving school. Perhaps this decepticon spy has been tracking Sam from school and they use the Astra as a getaway car.

I'm really optimistic, except for a few things.

I'm really happy with Arcee being included in this one - just hope the colours and robot mode match the original design as much as possible.

I love the idea of Jetfire (if they keep him Jetfire - could be another placeholder name) as the SR-71 Blackbird.

I love the fact that the surviving TFs haven't changed (I'm fine with the minor alterations to Bumblebee)

Ice cream truck transformers is a great idea (I'm just pissed they'll end up reformating into the Trax and the Beat... it's a waste of a great concept just to get some new flashy cars in there)

That new silver concept car (Corvette maybe?) is wicked.

Can't wait to see more, I'm totally drooling over the spy photos from this movie!

Loving it, can't wait. Still hoping for a "optimus comes to save the day in an awesome way"-scene. Like Rambo in the last Rambo-flick. Maybe as a homage to the animated Transformers-film (but don't kill him off, please!). Jetfire is a gread addition. To bad there is no Dinobots.

The plane in Die Hard was a F-35... which I thought was kinda funny cause it didn't take its first successful flight in the hover variant until June of this year. I'm really looking forward to larger scale of transformers this time around and cant wait for some huge battles!

I can honestly say that even though I bought the dvd, I haven't watched it yet. I've only seen the movie once in theaters and I don't feel the need to watch it again. It didn't "feel" like a Transformers movie.

I'm very optimistic about this movie. Of course, I'm not a die-hard Transformer fan, but I thought TF1 rocked! I can't wait for the sequel.

I'm definitely hyped for this movie. I enjoyed TF1 despite its flaws, and my beef with some of the Bayformers' design (i.e. Starscream). But from what I've read thus far I'm liking what I heard, and I'm optimistic that this movie will turn out great. I've been a TF fan since the '80s and I'm very happy to see more of Transformers on the big screen.

Well, don't give any darker credits just yet...after all how many anticipated how light-hearted number one would be after the teaser? I believe the first half of the movie will be very number one in terms of comedy and then the second half is when all the **** will hit the fan.

Wow, sad to see this thread had to get bumped so many times... I for one am VERY excited to see this bad boy! Saw the trailer with Star Trek, (or Terminator, can't remember which one) and I have to say just those few short clips blows anything from the first one away. The scene with the aircraft carrier being destroyed immediately comes to mind. All hail Megatron! I suppose the only gripe I'd have is the apparent lack of my favorite bot Soundwave, but that's small potatoes compared to what we're gonna get. Count me in on the Optimist side!
