Well guys here we are at the end of season 1, what a great start to the series. I cant wait to see what goes on in the future. So i decided to start this thread so we can start to talk about spoilers and Speculation for season 2. Ok to start off on some things that are confirmed for season 2.

Villains that are confirmed for the season already: molten man, kraven & Calypso, Silver Sable, mysterio, the tinkerer.

and the only new villains that I'm looking forward are Kraven and Mysterio.
too bad Scorpion will appear only in season 3. it'll take quite a while for me to see my 4th favorite villain.

That being said, I'm pretty sure the Goblin mystery is far from over. The Goblin mystery really is one of the many things I want to see continue. As I have said, there is just something about the ending of "The Uncertain Principle" that doesn't seem finished.

Well, BC was working for some Industrialist who'd like to study the symbiote. I'm guessing either Norman or maybe even Kingsley.

Chameleon was clearly working for some foreign military power, he addressed his employer as "General" and it wouldn't make sense for the US Army to steal something the US was already studying.

Yea that is possible for sandman but probably wont happen for awhile, yea i to hope we get to see chamelon and black cat pop in again somewhere in season two. Also greg did say gang war was to happen soon i forgot offhand if he said it was season 2 or season 3. Yea at this moment we dont know when season two is going to be airing or what network it will air on. Will they stay on CW? will they move to nick/nicktoons/CN not known at this time. And then back during that podcast creg mentioned they have most of the episodes recorded for voicing and was working on the last few episodes scripts during the time they did the podcast, also he said it has yet to even go to animation. Hopefully season two is going to air in the fall if not we will probably have to wait to spring.

I could see it probably staying on CW its been doing well on kids wb-cw/ CW4kids. As long as the 4kids people try not to censor the show more or alter storylines to what they want i would be fine with it staying. Same goes if it goes to another network i hope they leave the stories to the writers and not try to influence them or censor it as badly as TAS was with fox kids in the 90s.

Yea i am a little disapointed to if they dont have foswell revealed as the big man. Yes they are right now making us believe big man is tombstone but maybe in a future season it is really revealed to be foswell who is pulling all the strings and tombstone is just his figurehead.

Well greg stated many times over he currently want to stick with spidey characters/villains side of marvel U. We are likely not to get any hero appearnces in season 2 since most of the episodes have been written/recorded already and from what villains that has been confirmed for the season already we can judge were things might be going. So there could be a chance season 3+ for other marvel heroes. Or if they dont have heroes appear atless make mention of them on the news or a bugle article or something. But from what we seen in season 1 so far looks like spidey is the only current hero in NYC.

Its possible a couple of us has talked about it in other threads but since they are not bringing in the character to season 3 there is plently of time to develop kingsley hobgoblin character or any of the other ids if they wanted to. Or they could do brainwash deal on ned from the comics.

I think an interesting way to develop Ned Lee into the Hobgoblin would be to let him investigate the Goblin case.
Somehow he stumbles upon some Goblin stash of Osborn's, he tries to print the story but is somehow disproved, maybe by Spidey or possibly Norman himself.
During his investigation Ned becomes fascinated by the whole persona of Super-Villains and eventually becomes Hobby with the goblin stash he finds.

I also wonder if they'll develop Beck any more before he becomes Mysterio. Mysterio was one of the first villains to claim that spidey ruined him. So far all he did was take down his partners and him while they were trying to frame him. I also can't wait to see his costume, I was hoping to see an updated Mysterio in Ultimate spider-man but no luck yet.

Yes we all would love to see that, but greg as i stated and others have too before he currently only wants to stick with characters from the spidey corner of marvel and not have the show be guest heroes showing up all the time. As i said in another post even if we cant see other heroes it would be sweet if they were mentioned on the tv news or bugle articles about mutants/other heroes and all that. We can hope maybe season 3+ they will finally do a guest spot but not likely to happen in season 2.

As far as guest heroes are concerned, like I said before I say they should stick to street level heroes for a majority of the show and have them spread out so it doesn't seem like all were getting are just guest spots like the last season of The Batman.

Yeah : big, intelligent, powerful, experienced, I also kinda like the fact that he doesn't want Spidey to stop fighting big threats like super-villains. There is also the fact that he doesn't seem to be ready to anything in order to make profits, like the Kingpin in TAS was : not trying to steal the symbiote, just keeping with the "ordinary" crime...

I can't wait to see Mysterio and Kraven. Their joining the Six in a two or a three parter. More of the mystery of the Goblin's identity. I want more of Chameleon. But we all know that eventually we will see that.
Now I really want to see Jack O'Lantern and Black Tarantula in this show. Hobgoblin and Scorpion will appear in Season 3, and they are one of my favorites. I am also looking forward for the Spider-Slayers arc. I think Alistair Smythe would be great, but that story would fit more in Season 3, after Scorpion makes his debut. We can also expect Carnage appearing later on, but I doubt him appearing before the fourth season.
For Season 2 I am certainly looking forward to the 'Gang Wars', where I hope Chameleon will be one of the crucial characters, along with Tombstone, Rose, Silvermane, and Green Goblin (maybe); the Master Planner arc with Octopus and maybe leading to the formation of the new Sinister Six, even the story is perfectly set up for them to battle Spidey like in the comics because of their failure the last time, when they attacked him all together, which is of course more natural thing to do for the first time considering the odds.

Story-wise I think that it would be good to get more prolonged and complicated storylines, which have a bigger impact on the story and the characters. Season 1 did a very nice job with its storylines and arcs, but plot-wise more of less they were all introductions of Spider-Man's main rogue gallery. It was all great explained and everything, but now it's time for some serious development. Which I think can be done with ease by Greg & co. if they decide to go that route.

Character-wise SSM is already great, so I don't think they should change anything, they just need to keep up the good work. I saw some posts about the deaths of Captain Stacy and Gwen but I think Season 2 would be a bit early for that. Tho it depends of how many seasons they're gonna make... Still, I think that if there is gonna be deaths (which I find a bit doubtful, SSM may be great, but it's still a kids show) of people close to Peter, it should be done in the last season, preferably in the last couple of episodes in the very final arc (no matter what it is).

As for the villains... Well, to be fair, villain-wise I'm more exited about Season 3 for all I know (The Hobgoblin! Yay! :grin:). I never cared much for Kraven and Mysterio, and - feel free to call me "n00b" - but until today I've never even heard of Molten Man (although that makes me a bit curious to see him).
Also I am not sure that I like the idea of two "replacement" villains in the Sinister Six. I think I'd enjoy it more if it was a consistent team, not only for the sake of continuity, but because they were really cool together. But I suppose that it also depends of how everything is explained and developed, so I'm gonna refrain from final opinion for the Season 2 Six for now.

Well about the S6 greg said we are going to see different combinations of it through the series and in the comics it went through a variety of different members. Yea rhino and shocker are likely the guys who are going to be the ones leaving with mysterio and kraven joining to then make the original S6 group from the comics.

I remember Phil Lamar had a cameo in SM2. He was a passenger on the train. Anyways, he is voicing enough people on the show they can certainly get another voice actor for hobie.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the Venom part, with him appearing in the season finale this coming friday I think him coming back in a season premiere would be too soon. I do think he'll make an appearance in the 2nd season, but somewhere in the middle.

I think the 2nd season is gonna play out like this, the first half is gonna introduce the new villains, then we'll get a couple of episodes with some of the old villains from season 1 probably Green Goblin, Venom, and the S6 with the two new members, then the finale will introduce the gang war story line which will play out through season 3.

My prediction is Peter will be chasing Gwen all season after he realizes in the last episode of season 1 that he loves her. Liz Allen (instead of MJ) will get in the way. But about 2/3 through they finally get together. Around the same time Harry comes back. GG returns and Peter blames Harry, but finds out it is Norman Osborn after Norman figured out Peter is Spidey and tries to kill him.

The season ends with Norman dropping Gwen off the bridge and killing her (I doubt you can get away with Spidey accidentally being the one to kill her with his web on a children's cartoon, despite the delicious irony).

BC will play a larger role and it ends with MJ comforting Peter over Gwen's death and Harry promising revenge on Spider-Man.

Hobgoblin is definitely my favorite Spidey villain, and he will appear in the show, but not before season 3, and since 'the gang wars' story will be in season 2 we may assume that, for that story, Green Goblin may take Hobgoblin's place. Yea we probably wont hear anything to late summer at the earliest. As it been reported back on the 12th the finished all the voice work on season 2 and now just waiting for it to get animated which takes a long time. Then we are likely to hear sometime later this summer the official start date and if its staying on CW or moving. Personally i hope it stays on CW its been doing well there. As for airing hopefully animation can be done at a reasonable pace and still keep up the quality from season 1 and we get it in the fall. If not will likely be airing in feb/march.

Villains that are confirmed for the season already: molten man, kraven & Calypso, Silver Sable, mysterio, the tinkerer.

Kraven could be good with the Lizard as his prey. Everyone else...whatevs. They go in the batch of Spidey villains that are uninteresting/ridiculous for me. But then again, this series has yet to disappoint even with the Vulture and Chameleon. Who am I to say it might suck?

Yeah, that's what happens when you are bored on a Saturday morning like me. I wrote the synopsis back at Toon Zone as D.A.V.E., since I usually do that for other shows too. I'm actually flattered when people start thinking the synopsi are true, and some even ended up for a time on Wikipedia, so thanks guys.

THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN ROUNDUP

Clancy Brown, known to comics fans as the voice of Lex Luthor, is providing the voice of George Stacy in Kids' WB!'s upcoming The Spectacular Spider-Man.

In the series, George Stacy is Gwen's father and a police captain. His relationship with Spider-Man will probably echo that of the Silver Age comics.

Brown, 49, has voiced Lex Luthor in more than 40 episodes of Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited and, most recently, The Batman.

He also provided the voice of Mr. Freeze in The Batman.

In other Spider-Man news:

* Sandman will be featured in the first half of the season.

* Dave Bullock, a director of Justice League: The New Frontier, also worked on The Spectacular Spider-Man.

* Sha Shan will be appearing in the show.

They only changed the ethnicity of chars that were originally white, to make the cast more ethnically diverse. So there's no reason to change someone who is already not white.

Background
Sha Shan first appears in Amazing #108, where she saves Flash Thompson from execution for a number of rather complicated reasons. See the Vengeance From Vietnam review for more details.
She soon returns to Vietnam with her father, to establish a new temple. At that time, she becomes entangled with Achmed Korba, at the bequest of her father, to become a balance to his evil nature. Sha returns to America with Achmed, while her father is killed in one of the last bombing raids of the war

An unwilling Sha (as Sister Sun) and a far more enthusiastic Achmed (Brother Power) battle Spider-Man and friends in early issues of Spectacular Spider-Man. Achmed is killed in an explosion at the climax of the battle, leaving Sha free to be re-united with Flash. They were seen together a couple of times, until history caught up with them, and Sha was cast into Marvel Oblivion, where she currently resides.

I always found Sha Shan to be interesting. ASM Issue #108 was so great as well, if you ask me. Not only was Flash meeting Sha-Shan interesting, but Spidey teaming up with Dr. Strange was great as well. Also, I really found it to be interesting how (in the comics) she ran away from Flash when he saw her in the coffee bean (I think that's what it was), but I could be wrong. I just can't seem to remember.

I would personally like to see a few hero cameos. Like Luke Cage, Daredevil, or Dr. Strange. Possibly even Cap and Iron Man down the road. But for now, just focus on Spidey. Honestly, this series blows the 90's one out of the water.

Yea we all would love to see some hero cameos but greg has said many times he doesnt plan to do any hero cameos any time soon. and some characters could be tied up in legal issues. So we are not likely to see any in season 2 but maybe in season 3 or higher.
