Speed Racer was the first thing that popped into my head after seeing the thread title. I saw it with my dad (who more or less grew up with the original series), and we both really enjoyed it.
I'd also add the first few Pokemon movies, The Fifth Element, and Ang Lee's Hulk.

I only enjoyed the SW prequels to a certain extent. But ceratinly didn't think they were as bad as people make them out to be (except maybe for Ep. II). Though I thought Ep. I & III were well done. I also imagine I'll LOVE Indy IV as well, once I've seen it even though a lot of people have been bashing it. I'll be buying it on Blu-ray a.s.a.p.
Spiderman 3 and X3 were VERY well done imo, no complaints, love them.

^^ Indeed and I liked it in theaters just for that reason. It quickly became apparent the TC is not a very good movie and the DC is average at best, but the amount of care and love that went into that movie from a fan, can make another fan enjoy it.
Now on the other hand Ghost Rider is just so uniformly bad from all angles, there is no way to enjoy that movie.

Spidey 3 - It could have better, but I didn't think it was really bad.
The Godfather 3 - It had to follow 2 excellent movies, but I thought it was good.

LOL, exactly. A specification of this thread should be that you cannot post a movie already posted.
Movies like Spider-Man 3, Hulk, Superman Returns and X3 have divided opinions. Some people like them and some hate them.
If you want a movie no-one else liked, try Catwoman.

A lot of people didn't like Ang Lee's The Hulk. I'm not among them. I thought the movie was great. Amazing special effects, great acting and a compelling storyline.
And although it didn't live up to the hype, I actually liked Attack of the Clones.

06-15-2008, 01:56 PM
Addition to The Hulk, I also liked Waterworld . Yes I know the movie has various plot and scientific holes and that in fact the entire premise is impossible because there aren't enough ice caps to flood the entire world. But still, I thought the story and characters were interesting and compelling. It's best to see the 3 hour director's cut version. It actually has something of an epic mood to it.

Quarantine. I don`t know why it didn't make a big box office like Cloverfield. Its the same kind of movie. OK maybe the girl from Dexter was a bit stupid but some part of the movie remembers me a lot of the exorcist (like the little girl running the stairs behind the camera man or the old lady watching tv).
I was tired of all those cheap teenager horror movies that we got for almost 2 decades. I`m hoping Quarantine and Cloverfield will open new doors to the Horror genre.

"Lady in the Water". I don't know. It just has something to do with an element of something more being dropped into everyday life, and how easy everyone buys into it.
