Too bad it's still to bash Favreau for thinking two years between sequels might not be enough time:

What a loser. Lord knows what mess that no talent hack would've produced if he were on board.
And he say's Favs cried like a little girl? I bet Favs would sh** kick that tubby bastard's ass.
Jealousy is an ugly color, yet this guy loves to sport it.
I view him the same way I view Uwe Boll. On one hand, the idiocy he demonstrates is a laugh riot. On the other hand, the jackass continues to get work. Love-hate relationship.

Don Murphy has no class.
I wonder if five years between two LXG movies is too much . . . OH WAIT!
Bug Eyed Earl, I'm disappointed you are posting on a forum with the other suck up trash posters. You are better than that. Look at the way those other pieces of trash fall right in line with Don Murphy and his trash.

What an assclown. In what world is that enough time? If they're serious about filming in March, that gives them 9 month to get the script ready, hire all the new players, and do all the pre production storyboarding, and costume designing, and location scouting. When you take into considereration that not a single WORD has been written for the film yet, and probably won't be for a few months at least what with the delay to re-hire Favreau and everything, they'll have even LESS time to get a script written, rewritten a number of times, and polished. Even if you ignore all the other work that has to get done, just the script itself doens't have a lot of time to get done. Granted, it's not impossible, but it's more than enough for a reasonable person to be concerned about.

Enough time for Transformers 2 :p . Due out for release in 2009.
Just reading Don Murphy's posts make me want to vomit.

yeah, really. he's not exactly in the position of saying anything. I would take any of Jon Fav's worse than watching the wasted League of Extraordinary Gentlemen again (It's Fox so I'm not surprised)

He comes of as an overgrown prick. Never met the guy, so I can only judge by his writings. Probably a guy who is tough when hiding behind his keyboard. The real tough guys are those capable of, in civilized manners, look a person in the eyes and say what they mean.
It's so childish to hang Jon out like this. "ohh, I'm on ze internets, it feelz like I have ballz again" If I ever meet Murphy I'll give him my Clint Eastwood stare and tell the guy to grow up and stop embarrassing himself and his family.
I am one who loved both Transformers and Iron Man, but the way Murphy is acting is just som immature. I can happily do without.

I guess that's a backhanded compliment, so thank you.
I stick around because screenwriter Roberto Orci posts there. Whether you like his work or not, his comments have taught me a lot about screenwriting in general.
And some of the posters are endlessly entertaining. One guy who lives in Philly(who is an insanely hardcore TF G1er) got to be an extra in TF2, but some weird events went down that basically revealed the following: The poster, Reg, aka hedgehog, had mentioned to somebody he posted on the Dm board, and even shared his User name with that same somebody in the wardrobe department. Despite being told not to talk about it, he blabbed on the forum about what he say, and then allegedly tried to corner Michael Bay ?(this same guy thinks Soundwave should be a floating tape deck, mind you) to teach him about G1, and he was thrown off the set, yelling "Your **** sucks anyway!" People thought this was a joke until some board members in the industry and Murphy himself confirmed it in a roundabout way.

I used to be a regular poster on Don's website, when he was producing Iron man, he at times was very hateful and a prick to people and offen acted childish, I lost any shread of respect for him after Marvel took control of the project and hired Jon Favreau to direct, he basically attacked Marvel and called Jon a no talent hack and wished disaster to the movie, it's a shame to see he didn't grow up and learn his lesson from Iron Man's success.

Orci does post elsewhere besides the Murphy boards.
I have less respect for Orci now that he posts there as well.

Don Murphy is a no-talent hack.
Wow!
Reading the responses one poster asks Murphy if his ties with Marvel are severed or not.
Murphy's response..."I hope they close soon!"
This guy can't accept competition...especially when they put out a film that was way better than most of his.

Well a lot of people in this section are getting on the anti-Marvel bandwagon now too.

So far from what I've read on here and elsewhere...it's fan made rumours that Marvel might replace Favreau. Untill I hear something directly from Marvel or Favreau I'm not sweating bullets over this.
Reading Favreau's statement about doing the three year wait, I don't see how that makes him a cry baby like that fat bag of **** Murphy says he is.
To me that is a smart move...Marvel is just scared because they have nothing coming out next year and want to keep in the spotlight.
Personally, if they would have taken their heads out of their asses and got to work on Thor and Captain American earlier, they wouldn't be in this situation.

Well, Marvel Studio may not have anything on their plate for next year, but Wolverine comes out next summer and people will perceive that as a Marvel movie, not a Fox movie with Marvel license. So people will go see a Marvel movie regardless, even though it didn't come from Marvel Studio. I don't think Marvel should worry about that, and just focus on making a great IM2, even if it means it will take 3 years to do so.

That's not necessarily fair or true. Thor is about as far along now as Iron Man was in 2006. (Not exactly, since Favreau was hired at the end of April, but Thor has a script that is in the polishing stages, something Iron Man didn't have at this point)

From what I remember hearing though, was that they were waiting to finish getting Thor and Captain American together after they saw how well Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk did at the BO.
From a business standpoint, I guess that's a good idea. It's just that Marvel could have been farther along with Thor and Captain America...hell even Ant Man. I don't understand why they waited this long to try to get the scripts done and not cast yet.

Figs. In 2007, it looked like they were trying to get Thor together. They had a screenwriter and a director. The script had a really good buzz around it. People here that managed to read it really seemed to like it. Matthew Vaughn was set to direct.
Then the strike happened, and it suddenly moved to a halt. And Matthew Vaughn's directing deal expired during the strike. Just saying its not like they weren't working trying to get this stuff done. Every indication seems to be that they were. Then they had two huge movies coming out this summer and had to see how they would perform. Hulk is still yet to be released.

Wow, Don Murphy sounds like a jealous and spiteful little douche bag.
And he uses as his excuse for mocking Favreau "Transfomers 2?" Well the first one, even if you like it, doesn't hold a spot on Iron Man and the sequel to TF began production and pre-principal photography shooting without a freaking screenplay because of the writer's strike!
If that's the model Marvel wants to use I'd be worried. Mind you Spider-Man 2 was done as a fast-tracked 2 year sequel, but I'm going to say we got really lucky that the right writers rewrote early drafts and Raimi had a good idea what he wanted to do with that movie in 2002.
I don't want to make that the model. Three years makes more sense. But Marvel wants to make as much money as possible, which I think is what caused Norton to turn his back on TIH. We'll see if this business strategy of quick and dirty works or backfires on Marvel.
Either way they'll make better pictures than Murphy ever ****ing made.

If Spider-man 2 wouldn't have been done that quickly if there had just been a WGA strike and there was about to be a SAG strike.
Transformers isn't even a fifth of the movie Iron Man is. Let the guy live in denial. It's comedy for the rest of us.

I think he knows exactly how much better Iron Man is then Transformers in quality. That's why he's pissed off.
We know it, he knows it, everyone knows it.
He's just not publically admitting it. All he's doing is projection.
