i hope so --
ive been a long supporter of everything this movie's done from recasting, storyline etc, i just hope this flick turns out good. so far so good, im just hoping this just doesnt fall apart when i'm in the theater...

im gettin worried cuz i saw a couple of the clips from the flick online... and its was OK, but it wasnt great... im hoping its good... i really hope and kinda think it will be...

just worried... but who knows, i saw the clips from LFoDIE HARD online at IGN before it came out and they were just ok i thought and that ruled imo when i saw it in theaters, so i raise my glass to HOPE... barely over a week away.

Visually the movie looks like something I puke up after eating confetti cake. And let's be honest. It may be decent for cheap action movie standards, but this thing isn't going to win any awards for greatness. it's going to be on the same level as Rambo. Mindless action and talking every so often.

thats wat i get when i watch 2004 punisher , i think tom jane was great, my freind does not like th punisher, but he thinks that movie is awesome, if teiis movie makes hima a frankite than its awesomer than 04's punisher

I wonder where the sequel will go,if we get one.

Because they used up a lot of the "modern" villains in this film,I would still really like to see Hitman,Barracuda and the Jackal on film.

anyways back on the subject,I wish they wouldn't have used the neon color scheme,though the new trailers and clips are toned down a bit.

I agree. Jane or Samuel L. as Fury is perfect. But Jane as Max Payne was an undiscovered brilliant casting. Shame.

This is Bad Ass. Stevenson looks good so far. But I would have liked to have seen Jane take it up a step if had been given the chance.

Dunno. I think Stevenson has the look way more down pat for the Punisher they're going for here. Likewise, Jane fit his Punisher pretty well. Maybe if the photoshop job was better...

When I first saw Punisher 04 I thought it was an OK action flick until I played the Punisher Game and started getting more and more into the Punisher. In retrospect it could have been so much better and Jane went from good to bleh. I have high hopes for Stevenson since I loved him in Rome...that and he looks like he came right out of the Bradstreet covers which are my fave things about the MAX Comics

I'm seeing it friday mostly because I'm a Punisher fan. It doesn't like that good IMO. Looks like they got the violence and action just right and Stevenson looks good in the role but the lighting looks wrong (hate the reds and blues) and Jigsaw doesn't look or sound too good (his voice-UGH).

I hope this surprises me though.

Really? I love Jigsaw's voice. Watch all the clips on this page first before you make up your mind on him, especially the full "destroyed" scene. The B-reel stuff shows off his voice well too. I'll say for myself, I wasn't convinced at the start by his voice, but once I heard it in full effect... I think he nailed it.

Also, according to Steve Gainer's post here, the neon is only in a few scenes, which just happen to be featured predominantly in the trailer. So... we'll see!

Everything I've seen has given me hope that the movie will be a good Punisher movie. Stevenson looks fantastic as Frank and I personally like the gritty/B-Movie feel given to the character, its gives it that edge he kinda calls for me. I honestly don't see The Punisher as a polished up/nice looking character I envision him as a hard edged, gritty dark character which should hold true to a film about him.

I do like the action piece where Punisher fires an explosive into a room of people and sends some of them flying out of the windows. Cool ****.

I was originally sour about the film because of Thomas Jane's depature from the film and it basically becoming a re-boot. I'm a huge fan of the 2004 film and the news of him leaving pissed me off (much like the news of Keaton no longer playing Batman back in the 90's) But I've cooled off and have gotten used to the fact he is no longer playing the role.

I hope Lexi Alexander delivers at least a good film. There will never be a perfect "Punisher" film but I wish this one the best.

Could be. But most of them are shots found directly in the movie, whereas most production stills have variations and stuff. Like the LBJ one eating the dude, that's probably a production still...but a few of the others are directly from the film.

I just want the DVD to come out. :woot:

Jigsaw has to be one of the most underrated, overlooked villains in cinema history. West did a great job with the role, easily pulling off that villain you hate but love because he's so funny and entertaining, yet badass and scary at the same time. I take this Jigsaw over the comic book one.

I'm very proud of Dominic West. :)

Well, I'm a fan of the character, that's why I'm here. And I don't think I've been trollish at all, maybe glib at times (and there have been quite who have been glib in response to me too), but I've never called anyone an ******* or anything derogatory for liking this movie. And I probably should have worded my response to you earlier better, because I honestly don't how you think that West's performance was actually good. I'm a fan of The Wire and was excited that he was cast in this movie, and then seeing him just cheese it up and be a joke was infinitely disappointing to me.
