Hey I love Halle Berry like the next guy, but for some reason she's not as hot in X-men as in other movies... maybe that's because she wears much less in those other movies.... Same thing with Famke Janson... she always looks hotter i other movies. X2 really needs a scen where everyone is at that pool... Hell we have a naked Logan in the movie, why not at least have the X-chicks in binikis for a scene.


Anyway... I dig Asian chicks... so I'd go for Kelly Hu.

(I've been lurking about for awhile, though. And the first time I tried to post this response, it seemed to disappear into the ether...or wherever it is that lost computer info goes to die.)

Anyway, my vote goes for Paquin. I still can't believe that - just because she wore a baggy, ol' green coat through most of the movie - most of y'all didn't realize how sexy she was in X1. (And I thought that Daredevil was blind...)

Did you see She's All That (horrible movie, by the by)? Paquin had, like, one scene with the lead girl, Cook, and our Rogue's smoldering sensuality made Cook - Singer's 2nd choice for Rogue, I believe - look like a frellin' cardboard cut-out.

As for the other X-Women...

Yeah, Berry's beautiful. But that personality: Ugh. Way, way, way too brittle. Too defensive. A classic prima donna...and that's very unattractive.

And Stamos is just too...California for my taste. Too skinny. Too blonde. I mean, I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and all, but Buffy herself is - for me - the least attractive of the Scoobies. (Hell, I think even Drusilla and Dawn are sexier...)

And Janssen seems better suited for OTT roles, and seemed needlessly - and somewhat blandly - subdued in X1.

Oh well. Again, this's all just my proverbial two cents' worth...

As if our opinion is somehow less valid, cause hey, we're the movie-viewing public too you know. Is it so inconceivable to some of you that yes, Anna is winning because people think she should, that you underestimated her draw for those coming back to watch X2? God forbid people found her compelling as Rogue and beautiful to boot, not to mention more fleshed out than the non-personality of Storm, or the bland moviefied Jean, or Mystique, who had one line and was covered with paint and prosthetics. In contrast, Rogue was the main female from X1, so it stands to reason people might be interested in her more than the others. Did it enter your minds that she's *more* than just a pin-up, unlike the rest? Some of you act like you've been personally affronted by it, and while I don't care if your world view of women has been upended by this measly poll, I get pissed off at the insinuation that I somehow don't know what hot is. Cause xrogue and others, that's what you implied, and lemme tell ya-- Anna is a million times hotter than those other women who just stood there and barely emoted a lick. If anything, she's looks *and* substance over their cardboard, and that's way more attractive to many men and women. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Most of these people here are talking about the physical beauty of the actresses and not their characters. Inner beauty accentuates the outer beauty, IMO. Not everyone's going to see it this way. And for the most part, this thread has nothing to really do with that. It's about people's opinions on which female in the main cast of X2 is, in their eyes, attractive in a physical manner; not which character was more appealing to them.

What's so offensive about my post? I don't think Anna Paquin is ugly, and I said that. I just am surprised by the outcome. I don't think it's wrong that she won, I just think that a lot of people see "hotness" by what someone looks like. I agree with what you said about beauty, and I do think Anna Paquin is a VERY beautiful actress, particularly in The Piano. I think most people have a different definition for beauty and being hot. Look at People magazine, for instance, I believe Halle Berry has been in their 50 Most Beautiful People several times. Perhaps someday Anna Paquin will change that by getting herself in there. Until then, the majority of Americans will base "hotness" on outer appearances. You can argue with me and call me "rude," but I never attacked anyone for saying she was pretty, and I did not say she wasn't attractive. Perhaps YOU should actually read the posts and point out exactly where I was so harsh before jumping all over me. :rolleyes:

I posit from a culture that elevates the air-brushed over the natural and puts a premium on perceived symmetry. As beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so too is it's lack. I used to confused glamour (which originally meant a weakness in the eyes, then an enchantment, now magnified attractiveness) with real beauty. No disrespect to Halle, Famke, or any other woman, but to me, Anna has the real deal; the kind of beauty that will be there thirty years from now, perhaps creased, maybe less vibrant, but it will be there when other more shiny baubles will have long ago faded into bar joke punch lines and retor-calander collectibles.

I think she is flawless. She seems like a sweet woman, but she is very beautiful. I also don't mean to be rude, but why have all of the other X-Women, including Kelly, been in Maxim, but not Anna P? i read when the first movie came out that Anna wasn't featured in the Maxim issue where the other X-girls (halle, rebecca and famke) were on the cover because she wasn't old enough then. And maybe she didn't want to be seen that way.
