Better Class Of Toyline (Official: Movie Masters Thread)

I havent felt like this big a nerd in a long time but I kinda wanna build a "SLaughter is the best medicine" 18 wheeler....
I have been thinking about that for AWHILE now. For some reason that vehicle just fascinates me. Not to mention it plays a GINORMOUS role in one of the best action scenes in cinema history. How could we do it to fit the movie masters? The new Tumbler that releases the bat-pod sans the bat-pod fits the movie masters Batman. And size wise it's about right. Imagine having the SLaughter Is The Best Medicine truck? Complete with opening door where Joker can unleash slaughter and chaos like he does on the GPD in that scene.

I found truly intriguing that the creative team behind TDK gave the Joker a signature vehicle that FITS into his character, the same way the bat-pod / tumbler are microcosms of Batman's character.

Pretty cool. All you need is a bit of clay or sculpey to make hockey pads and you've got a Brian Douglas figure.

I've seen this with my own eyes and it is the exact same figure. Just like the batman/joker two pack it is exactly the same. Sorry to burst your bubble. I 2 was hoping for slightly bigger figure but no luck here just the same ol crap.

EDIT: I really like how you can see the Joker's eyes underneath the clown mask if you look close enough. That's a nice detail, as opposed to just painting the whole area solid black. And the detail on the shirt is incredible. I just wish they'd fix the colour of his suit & shoes.

I also very much agree that mattel needs to listen to us and put out a movie masters deluxe accessories kit. At about 20 bucks you get everything from a batterang to a green smoke bomb to a cloth cape for your batman figure. That would be awesome. One last thing anybody here live near a Circuit City?

The only tool I used was an Exacto knife. Length-wise, the notch should go down to around the first "vertebrae" of the collar. Width-wise, well...wide enough. It should just be big enough to allow the joint to pass through, any more and you might end up with a real wobbly-headed Batman. Mine's head ended up a little wobbly but it can still hold any pose. Remember, you can take off, but you can't put any back on. Cut off a little, test, repeat if necessary.

The Batman Begins/Scarecrow MM sets have hit the shelves at TRU, here's picture proof to back up some other peoples sitings. Found this in Waterbury, CT, they had like 7 of them and no, Begins suit Batman has not been made taller for the 2-pack like some people were saying; it's the same one as the old one from the stand alone packaging.

Ok so the Joker is a 10 inch figure from an upcoming 2009 ten inch line by Mattel. It is a mock up (which is why it is in the wrong package). That is all I know at the time. There are also batman (s) coming out.

Thanks, mxn36 - "neck notch" worked great for me. That plastic is tough, I recommend bracing the figure against something & holding it with your hand clear to avoid a nasty slip. (This occurred to me relatively late in the process!)

I dug my Begins MM figure out and compared it to the Joker, you're right, it is shorter. I have no thugs or Scarecrow figs yet to compare it to, but I will assume it's the same. Quite frankly, I think y'all are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Regardless of the size, I still think it's a good figure,miles better than the basic Begins figure. Oh, and what's wrong with the gauntlets?

Actually my only complain with the Begins figure are the shoulders. They are not proportioned to the rest of the body. He has like big triceps and biceps and meager shoulders. If you're an enthusiast of these movies, enough so to be a grown ass man to buy "collectors action figures" a detail like that as obvious as it is shouldn't be messed up by Mattel. The back of the card has the figure with them on in the accurate positioning.

First off I haven't been around much as I use to, let alone this thread, so I don't know if it's been mentioned yet.

But I stopped by a couple of local Targets the other night, and both had MM Batpods on clearance (at least 20 if not more) for $13.98. Now I know that's only about a $1.00 from retail, but one thing that should be noted about Targets clearancing schedule, is that they do drops in increments.

The first drop is only like %15, than %30, %50, than finally %75. Most items are clearanced each Monday morning, but take note as some Targets will do it Friday (YMMV). So if you're still looking to pick one or two up, make sure to keep an eye at your local Targets within the next coming weeks for a steal on the vehicle.

but they are cool customs, i did a repaint of the standard two face in 90's clors and plan to repeat with a mm. and im working on gordon and riddler with a ras base yet to be bought

The black around them, it's like a grey blurry smudge. I don't think the black around his eyes are ever that faded, even when he's all wet and beat up. Like I said though, the mouth looks fantastic.

The only tool I used was an Exacto knife. Length-wise, the notch should go down to around the first "vertebrae" of the collar. Width-wise, well...wide enough. It should just be big enough to allow the joint to pass through, any more and you might end up with a real wobbly-headed Batman. Mine's head ended up a little wobbly but it can still hold any pose. Remember, you can take off, but you can't put any back on. Cut off a little, test, repeat if necessary.

I finally picked up another MM TDK Batman today at TRU and tried mxn36's mod....I must say - pretty awesome:applaud. It took all of 5 minutes and once I was done and mounted him back on the pod, it really give the whole thing a much more realistic & natural look. I was so inspired I took some pictures (and pulled some backgrounds from the trailer :woot:):
