Zahrock - you may want to try 2-part epoxy putty for this kind of thing in the future, no need to heat it up like Sculpy, therefore no risk of accidentally melting or warping the rest of the figure. It hardens on its own in a few hours. Until it starts to harden after a couple of hours it is the consistency of a sculptable plastic-like clay. The stuff you want is blue-yellow (turns green when you mix it.)Kneadatite epoxy putty, also known by the nickname "greenstuff" It's the same stuff that pro sculptors use to make the master sculpts for gaming miniatures for Warhammer and the like. A number of websites that sell gaming minis and supplies also sell this putty.

Nothing! there is absolutely nothing new worth buying out at the stores. Bunch of clearance crap and wal-marts are just starting to get there resets done. The only new
Dark Knight products are the very non articulated 10 in batman and joker and the basic figures ultra armor assortment with the new generic Batman packaging. January is of course always a very terrible month for new product as all the stores want to get rid of old crap. Hopefully we will see new MM's by atleast the second week in Feruary.

Same stuff here, I picked up the 10 inch Joker, and a Firefly figure, but those are the only Dark Knight related figures I've bought lately. I'm really angry that Scarecrow and Final Battle Batman aren't out yet. If they say January, they should be out in by god January. Oh and sorry I've been away for awhile. I'm a daddy now. :cwink:

I hope not. The new generic packaging is awful. Seriously, the idea of displaying anything MOC with that style packaging has zero appeal. And really, if the "Movie Masters" line was designed to provide figures that recreate the look and feel of TDK, (or any movie for that matter), than the packaging should follow suite, ie. use of the TDK logo, color schemes, etc. I would hope that if they did ever decide to do a series around B89 that they would redesign the packaging to look more appropriate for that film.

I always thought the logo breaking through the surface thing was a part of TDK's overall theme of the bat symbol "breaking", but I guess it could work. As long as the color scheme and logos/fonts were consistent with each film. Just as long as it doesn't have that generic look that the repackaged stuff has. :down

Actually Mattel is probably the best mass retail company right now. Who knows what happening with the movie masters figures, but Mattel has their stuff together for every other line they're doing.

This really isn't completely true. I would guess that a bulk of Mattel's money comes from their established name-brands; this is stuff that basically sells itself. But their own mismanagement (specifically in the DCU, infamously the MOTU lines and now the TDKMM line--be it supply issues, figure to case ratio, etc. Mattel is known for several retarded problems that a company their size simply should not have. "Little" issues like this cost a company a lot of money in lost marketing opportunity. I don't care how big you think you are, if you don't care about giving your customers a reliable product--or supplying them with product at all--eventually, you are going to have HUGE problems.

This is easily the worst handled line that I've ever collected. It had a lot of potential and Mattel just **** everything away. It's really unfortunate for the fans.

when they make a figure prototype,they usually make it in a larger scale than the actual figure will be,usually twice the size,hence "Two-Up"...that way they can get all the detailing into it before it's shrunk down and tooled for production...

SWEET!!!!!!!! I dont think proto suit batman will be a pegwarmer at all considering how many people never got an unmasked batman. Were talking customizing heaven here. All of these figures look great. I do wish that the jail cell joker had his sleeves rolled up a little higher but then again the figure looks great and who am i to complain because were finally getting a new joker sculpt. Even though two face hand is scarred which is an error, hopefully just in the proto stage... I am actually most disappointed with bank robber joker. It just looks meh. Lets go mattel, keep this line alive!!!

That Joker...actually LOOKS like the movie! Is there another 6-inch sculpt Joker coming out with better head sculpt or what? I'm so confused...and the list of all the Waves has Two Face in the LAST wave..like wave 4 or something was it? Does that mean he's probably not coming out until like late summer early fall?
Jail Cell joker is a 2-up prototype. Every Movie masters is made into a 2-up prototype before they are shrunk down to 6inch form. This is to help the toy sculptor get all the awesome detail they need to get into the figure. So what you see in the pics is a 2-up version of the "coming soon" 6inch Movie Masters Jail Cell Joker. I'm sure between now and the release some things will be tweaked because this ofcourse is just a prototype. Now as far as the other Joker which is also a 2-up figure, is going to be just like the Dark Knight 2-up figure that was released way back that also had the chase unmasked version. These were available at toys r us. This makes sense because if you look at the base that the figure is standing on its the same base that comes with the "2-up" dark knight figure and chase unmasked that has been out for months. Mattel is just doing a new head sculpt for it probably because they werent very happy with the way the first head sculpt came out and now they can finally do something about it. I personally think that both jokers look fantastic and can't wait to get these into my collection. So what if the hair is a little to slick back on the jail cell joker, the face sculpt is a much improvement from the first joker figure.

Here's another tip. When the new Movie Masters come out, and you shop at Wal-Mart, check the price of it using those price scanners they have randomly placed throughout the store. Since the old Movie Masters are on clearance for $7.00, there is a chance their computer will say the new MM's would be the same price. The reason I say this is because I collect some Star Wars items and this happened a week ago. Some new figures came out that I wanted, but I didn't have enough cash for all of them. For whatever reason, I ran one through the scanner to check the price. It originally was $7.99, but it scanned at $4.50. This was apparently the clearance price for some older figures. This erroneous markdown enabled me to get what I wanted. This wasn't the first time I found new items marked down at clearance price.

You're right, when applying the Buy 1 get 2 free, the price reflected is only for shipping charges, so you're getting the figures for free.

It was an error on the TRU.com website. They have a promotion running where you buy one get 2 free on MM figures. The error (which they fixed yesterday) was that if you added 1 MM figure and chose 2 that were free, it would in fact give you all three figures for free. The only thing you would pay for would be shipping.

Ok..is it me or did Mattel finally get rid of the gimpy stupid ass malnourished looking (I'm not done yet...) weakling looking arms that was on their original 'Begins' version? Looks sort of more beefed up there for the Prototype Batman/Bruce Wayne and the Fear Toxin Batman....unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.

I STILL want to know what is happening with that Joker 2-Up with the muuuuuuch better headsculpt....is he going to be an Exclusive to some convention of some kind or will he be released?

Well to me the proto suit bats and fear toxin bats look the same to me. It may just be the angle or lighting that makes the figure look different or the fact that we want it to look beefier so our minds play tricks on us. The 2-up jail cell joker is going to be the standard 6inch movie masters jail cell joker figure. Im pretty sure that at the time of the convention mattel just didnt have a scaled down version of the joker to show to all the convention guests like they did with the two face figure because as you know all the figure are first made in 2-up versions then shrunk down to 6inch mass distribution form. And your damn right it wouldn't mattel to put a cloth cape on the batman figure and give a little wire on the inside for some cool posibility, and while there at it make some damn accesory packs for christs sake!!!!!! I mean the evidance stuff is cool and all but pointless. I want these damn figures nowwwwwwww!!!!!

Mattel has actually hinted this might be happening. In the survey Mattel recently released to collectors (which I took) they polled us on which other Batman and batmobile we'd like to see. Keaton, Clooney, etc. were on the list.

You know i really didnt think about mattycollector.com but thats a great idea. Hell they should just make a Movie Masters tumbler and 89' batmobile and sell them direct on the website especially if no store will pick it up as an exclusive. Or maybe just release the movie masters line on mattycollector.com all together. This would just solve all the problems we have trying to find the damn things in the stores. Mattycollector already announced that they will be selling the new Ghostbusters figures for the 25th anniversary of the film. 12 inch figures and 6inch figures which are also beign produced by the four horsemen.

It's totally ****ed that the Ghostbusters licensing went to Mattel after NECA beat their ****ing heads against a wall trying to aquire likeness rights for Bill Murray. It's a shame because their work and distribution is FAR superior to Mattel's.

Yeah it would be really nice if we ever get these figures...I'm busy collecting the Watchmen figures at the moment...waiting very impatiently for the next wave of MMs. Damn you Mattel, Damn you to Hell! :cmad:
