The entire film is filled with great performances left to right. James Horner gives one of if not the best score of his life in this movie. The final battle in the film is set up so great. Man I swear when Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington are killed in the end so with the whole 54th it actually had me to a couple of tears. Matthews charecter you can tell doesnt what to be the person he is but for them to do what they do he has to be a leader and thats what he is. Over all one of the best War films I personally ever seen.
If you havent seen the film Watch it. Very great movie and undderated film

This is not the overrated thread :woot:
But seriously, I'd say Spider-Man 3 is very underrated. The movie has several flaws, but it is not the disaster 3rd installment people make it out to be. This movie is highlighted by great effects and James Franco's movie stealing performance. Brock needed another scene with Gwen, and Sandman maybe needed another character scene. Yes, the Butler scene is stupid. But otherwise, it is a solid movie.
I enjoy it

Yeah, sadly. I prefer B89 better. But BR is such an excellent film! The script is better, Peiffer owns as Catwoman, Burton turned Penguin from a boring charcter to a interesting one. Max Shreck was a mirror to Bruce Wayne. The finale where Bruce tries to get to Selina by taking off his mask. The party, where Bruce and Selina ironically are the only ones without masks. And that same whole scene between Keaton and Peiffer. We didn't have any of that in B89 between Keaton and Basinger. Burton was the first to show us a dark comic book hero on the screen and make it work. The first and only German expressionist film to be sold in a Happy Meal.

One movie that I enjoy which lots of people ignore is "Ghosts of Mississippi", with Alec Baldwin as real-life Jackson County lawyer Bobby DeLaughter, who in the mid-1990s finally succeeded in convicting white supremacist Byron de la Beckwith (James Woods) for the 1963 murder of civil-rights activist Medgar Evers. It's a very touching story about the value of life, regardless of creed or color. Whoopi Goldberg co-stars as Evers' widow Myrlie, while Bill Macy and Craig T. Nelson give excellent supporting performances under Rob Reiner's direction.

Infernal Affairs. It's a wonderful foreign film that didn't get as much attention stateside as it deserved.
Waterworld. It's an ambitious film; I don't know why many consider it a failure.

Despite many things about that film that I don't like you cannot deny that the early scenes with Sandman were incredible. I love the fight on the armored truck and of course the subway sequence.
Have to agree with a few choices I've seen earlier too (:spidey:3, :supes: Returns)
But my own 2 cents, I'd have to say Just Friends, this movie is hilarious if you haven't seen it. Anna Faris is just too much :lmao: and Ryan Reynolds is great too (They all are, Chris Klein(!) :funny:)

Agreed. The Birth of Sandman is a gem to behold. The most touching part of the film for me. I wasn't much of a fan of Young's score, but the score their really carried it. To the parts with him struggling to find his balance and getting up. The whole scene was beautiful. SM3 gets too much flack.

I really get a good kick out of this version, I like the Tom Jane one but have come to prefer this one. It has some pretty good action sequences(gun fight on the docks) and some cool atmosphere going on in scenes(bit where he lures the drunk snitch out with the remote control car-ed whiskey bottle).
Dolph looks great even if he isn't the best actor, he has a decent sounding voice at least, I can forgive acting at that level if the person suits the part to an extent in looks or, dare i venture it, charisma, yeah, he had a bit of charisma and attitude on him in this film old Dolph.
For Ghost Rider it certainly helped. The EC is excellent. Though I like the movie anyways. Most people will disagree though.

Cinderella Man. Sure it won some awards, but in term of general public recognition, it's sorely lacking. Awesome movie! Also the recent Indy is underrated too, gets way to much heat and stupid complaints about it when ultimately it's just like all the other Indy's. I'm not saying it's as good as Raiders or anything but it's still a good old fun Indy movie.
Also the fourth one :o
Indy 4 was good entertainment but it really wasn't at the same level as the first three (especially Raiders and Crusade)
WHAT?! This cannot be tolerated. Drop whatever the hell it is you're doing, and go rent, correction, go buy the first three films and enjoy the hell out of them!
Also the fourth one :o
:o !!! OK, I'll be watching all four soon.. really soon *smirks*

Agreed on both :hehe:
:word: cool.
yeah, SR, well you know how much I LOVE it. And Speed Racer, I just saw it like two weeks ago for the second time, and enjoyed it a lot. It 's a little too long, though, but that ending almost makes me cry. :O

I'd say Fifth Element, I know that most of us here regard it highly, but outside of this, Im sure it is.
Rogue.
For all those who think there can't be a great killer croc movie, well, see this one. It's probably the best man-vs-water-inhabiting-beast movie since Jaws. I loved it. Insanely creative, awesome climax, extremely suspenseful and loaded with tension, and is does away with cheap gore and pop-up scares. The effects are also top notch.
It's even 100% (10/10) on Rottentomatoes.com:

"kicking and screaming". not the version with will ferrell but the one came out in 1995. it's the most quotable movie i've ever seen and hilariously subtle. might be my favorite movie of all time. it's the directorial debut by noah baumbach, who's gone on to write and direct "the squid and the whale" and "margot at the wedding" and co-write the "the life aquatic" with wes anderson. i can't recommend it highly enough.
"kiss kiss bang bang" with robert downey jr. was was completely underrated as well.

it thought Cast Away was popular enough to not be considered underrated.
I think the Terminal , Catch me if you Can and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang most definately.
But popularity and quality are not always hand in hand

The Cable Guy got a lot of **** when it came out but i think it was just the press deciding that Carrey needed taking down a peg or two.
