Chris Wallace

I TOTALLY think that was the point; one of many reasons why I hate the damn suit so much. It represents a bad period in Spidey's life & some stupid decisions on his part.
And it was ugly.

Chris Wallace

Really? What useless appendages are on Superman's suit? Whose sidekick does he look like? Spider-Man's a poor kid from Queens who was suddenly sporting a multi-million dollar high-tech outfit. Superman's an alien who for the first time was looking like one. And given the change in his powers, the look made sense for Supes. Given what those geniuses had done to Spidey's powers, if anyhting they should have given him something that looked more spider-like, not looking like Iron Man, Jr.

it feels like what superman would wear if he was brought up on kyrpton and just came as a adult instead of as a child.

The blue suit doesnt suit Superman. Just because hes an alien doesnt mean anything. Doesnt mean he should have green skin and a space suit either. He was raised by poor farmers from in Kansas. His biology might be Kryptonian but his heritage is all Earth (a planet chosen because it had the best living conditions so physical similiarities between the 2 species isnt crazy)

Color scheme is the same as spidey. Spidey has red in both suits prominently and Superman has blue prominently in both suits, but they arnt the same color schemes

Theres just as much precedent for giving Spiderman extra appendages since spiders have extra appendages than their is for making Superman blue because hes alien.

"More spider-like"? The biggest difference in the costume is it has extra legs rather than a web pattern. its still the same template, bug eyes, if anything it looks more spider-like, but neither suit actuall looks spider like.

And of course you created this thread as if a safe haven for unpopular costumes than ream into people who actually like an unpopular costume

don't hold your breath on that. as far as costumes go, Smallville seems unable to deliver in the S department.
I doubt we will get much of a pay off at all.
As for the haters of the iron spidey, I still think the colors were cool, the three leg thing was a bit stupid, I would have liked to see 4, but it was still better than his old silver and black armored suit.
IMO

Did I ream into someone or did I point out what I didn't like about the suit in question? I welcome disagreement.
I don't feel that Stark's design was spider-like at all. The extra appendages enhanced the tech aspect (not to mention that there was an odd number) rather than the spider aspect. The red was an homage not to Spidey's color scheme but to Stark's. The thing just looked very narcissistic.

I doubt we will get much of a pay off at all.

Considering doomsday is worming his way in a death occurrence may happen or something along those lines.

personally if supes was to go with a first suit in smallville a more alien black one with silver could be used.

heck, if they want to go all technical with it, they could have it be kal-el's first suit and make the distinguishment between ka el's alien kryptonian costume and clark's bright superman costume.

on paper, i believe that makes sense. have clark get his ass kicked by doomsday and have a costumed ka el come in flying to kick his ass....

end smallville with a balance between clark and ka el and a clear structure for superman's future

Chris Wallace
09-05-2008, 10:15 AM
Superman's futur ehas already been annihilated on "Smallville". I like the show, don't get me wrong, but they have put Clark on a path that ensures that he cannot possibly become Superman. Not if he plans to have a secret identity, anyway. Too many people know, too many people suspect. And among them are Lex, Lois & Perry. I just can't see him ever donning the "S".

So-it's supposed to be a mask that he can pull on & off as easily as Spider-Man or Batman remove theirs. Not something he has to spend hours & hours getting glued to his face. It's not ********. Any movie, even an incredibly successful and well made movie, can have elements that aren't quite up to snuff. I wouldn't have a problem with changing The Goblin's costume. The problem is, the costume we got looked like ****.

I still disagree. And maybe some of the complaints are legit, but I feel the majority of them were steeped in what I was talking about before-the majority of the ones I've come across, anyway.
