I don't identify with a party, but my politics are definitely conservative--between Republican and Libertarian (but closer to Libertarian).

I demand that DEMOCRAT PARTY is changed to DEMOCRATIC PARTY, considering that is the party's actual, legal name.
Thank you.

Without knowing how everybody would vote, I'm betting that most will claim to be independent.
That's my prediction.
Even though most will have voted Democrat.

I would like to think that I’m independent (Being Registered and all). If this were a multi party system, I would most likely vote democrat. Then If I felt that they were going too far; I would vote libertarian. Sadly we only have 2 parties that hold all the power. The Republican Party just has too many Negatives for me to ever consider giving them my vote. So I’m stuck voting democrat unless Bob bar can break the Libertarian party away from the Republicans.

Registered as a democrat, but will probably vote Republican on the big ticket for the first time. Not happy with McCain's VP pick, but will have a very hard time voting for Obama.

are independents considered undeclared or is that whole other party all together? I have no affiliation with any party which is why I said undeclared.

Democrat and consider myself pretty liberal, although I do have a few more typical conservative views. I am 110% pro gay rights and I'm pro-choice, but I'm very against illegal immigration and very pro capital punishment.

I'm socialdemocrat (moderate left). So, I guess that puts me closer to the Democrat Party but as I'm not american, I'm not voting for any of those in the list.
Anyway, there's a big difference between the democratic system of the United States and the one of my country. You vote the candidates, we vote the party, you vote the person, we vote the ideas. That's something I have seen very often in your elections.

Most people who type in Libertarian do it for the "let live" part, but they don't realize that it also means that you're on your own as well.

Funny.
The person who started this poll has spoken out against the Democratic Party on numerous occasions, and those who are against the Democratic Party cut the name short in an effort to be insulting. Bush has done it, prominent Republicans have done it, and several posters on this forum have done it.
It seems as if bias entered the poll when it shouldn't have.

Undeclared. I in fact hate the "two party" system, and would like to see a third party become viable. But, won't happen anytime soon.

Did you ever think you're just making it into a bigger deal than it actually is? I mean, this is an internet poll on a comic book message board.

If anyone is going to make a poll about party affiliation, it is their responsibility to make sure that they are calling the political parties what they are. It isn't necessarily hard; every single day, the media discusses "Democratic candidate Barack Obama," or discusses "the Democratic Congress." It is in print, said verbally on television and the radio... it may seem like a big deal to you, but for some of us who belong to the Democratic Party and have seen Republicans shorten the name to be insulting, it means more than you think it should.

So Democrats should be called Democratics?
:whatever:
You obviously don't understand the argument I am making or the history of this epithet at all, so I suggest you read up on it.
Wikipedia actually outlines it fairly well, to the best of my own knowledge on the subject:

And I'm sure the Democratic Party NEVER takes similar shots at the Republican Party :whatever:
Anthony Weiner [who rightfully deserves his last name] has only called the Republican Party the "Republic Party" in response of Bush and co.'s constant use of the phrase "Democrat Party."
And I only use the phrase "Republic Party" whenever anyone here says "Democrat Party."
Other than that, I can't think of too many times the Republican Party has been called "Republic Party."

I voted undecided because I simply vote in line with whoever I feel can do the job best. I dislike the party system in place right now. We have no Americans left, theres Democrats and Republicans, it's kinda sad if you think about it. No one really gives a damn about whats best for the country anymore it seems like.

Would never vote for a Republican unless the circumstances were very extreme. My social and economic beliefs are definitely left.

It's not going to hurt any of the mods to add "ic" to the end of the word.

Well considering the thread was made by an Admin., a mod won't be changing anything. Now, if you ask Malice nicely, he might. lol

that "ic" in democratic changes it completly. apparently "democratic" refers to the party, but "democrat" refers to something really bad.....just a conclusion that i came up with since everyone so against using that word.
Like kel said. I am an independent, but i am not going to freak out for having to vote undecleared. either way, the results will be the same. cute poll though
