Heroes RPG Discussion

Alright, since nobody really had any interest for the big Multi-Media RPG, I think we should have a Heroes RPG. I think that developing the Company, Original Founders, etc, would be awesome, and with Villains introducing a ton of new characters, this is an opportunity that we can't pass up. Starting at the end of Season II would be a good place to end as well, considering the fact that it left it open for several new arcs.

I think that interest in this RPG will increase as the series begins. Part of the reason it failed before was the slow pace of Season II as well as its early wrap-up. I think this will be a great RPG. Is it agreed that we end at the end of Season III?

I think the great thing is with Season III coming up too, we've got some great villains! :) Daphne, Echo, etc etc.

This has been tried twice and it failed both times. It can't live as a solo RPG you might have to get the Multi-Media one approved if you all want to play Heroes characters.

eh I don't see that surviving either. If the movies one died this one is sure to go aswell. And the reason this failed before is that certain players (you and a few others) posted a few times and just disappeared. So it wasn't the rpg that failed. Player's lack of commitment killed it.

I admire dedication, but this is bordering on insanity. It failed. Twice. That should tell you something. The Universe isn't nearly expansive enough, there aren't enough interested players, and people just have other commitments. You all are honestly wasting your time if you seriously think that this will get off the ground and survive.

Dawn of Marvels is on it's what third/forth try? If that can fail that many times and is still trying to be brought back I can see no reason why we can't try with this.

I was a driving force behind the last one. It died, despite everything I tried to do including putting it on hiatus. When I found it one day in the archives, I made my peace. I won't be participating in this. Sorry, but to quote Roland from The Lost World, "I've spent enough time in the company of death."

I fear this RPG will die again if it does get started, and I'm not going to go through the process of wasting all my time and effort for a cause that won't pan out past six pages of IC.

Okay...so here's the thing. Nearly every RPG that has been presented as an idea has been shut down because it has failed before. If that's the only reason that people don't want to start up new RPGs, that's lame IMO. EVERY RPG struggles in the beginning, and as has been said before, it is the lack of commitment from those involved.

You're not getting it. It's died because of lack of commitment. Twice, perhaps three times. People are into it in the begining, but then it just dies.

Not once during the long hiatus the last incarnation was on did someone ask or care about it. I've noticed a pattern with this RPG. It's only successful when the show is on the air. If that means each time this thing is started it's alive for four months then it dies, it isn't worth it.
