Regardless of who you support in these elections, it's important to make sure you are registered to vote. There is a website that allows you to register to vote that can be found here (https://www.voteforchange.com/index_obama.php?source=091008emailR). I would strongly urge all of you who are of legal voting age and have the right to vote to exercise that right and vote in the upcoming elections. Getting registered is the first step.

I'm already registered. Simple and easy.

The same can't be said for the elections

I recently registered through rockthevote.com. I mailed the form in 2 weeks ago, I assume I'll get a letter back saying it's all completed.

I thought this was a great post for anyone visiting the politics forum who hasn't registered to vote yet, so we've made it a sticky.

Now everyone who hasn't yet, go register!

There is no excuse not to be registered to vote if you are of age. No reason at all.

I guess I hadn't thought of that. It's still not a good reason though. :cwink:

I may have to serve jury duty in a couple of weeks. I don't know yet.

The jury duty system in many states operates off of the driver's license records, so not registering to vote may not do you any good.

So how do they do it in New York City? Not everyone needs a drivers license, and I bet there's some who've never registered to vote

Plenty have registered to vote, I'm sure they have more than enough people to comb through.

I received my confirmation in the mail today.

That answered my question.

So once you get the confirmation you're good to go. But what if one doesn't return in time for the Nov. 4th. Should I just go to the voting poll anyways ?

jury duty can be fun as hell

That's a lie !!! :cmad:

I didn't wanna register to vote because of jury duty but I felt I needed to vote in this historic election so I registered. I wanna be apart of it!
