Which city should be used for Metropolis?

Very modern, which fits Metropolis to me. Of course I would expand it with CGI. What do you think?

Thanks. To me Metropolis is the "City of Tomorrow" and whomever comes in can look at Tokyo as a model for Metropolis, because Tokyo already is the "City of Tomorrow" in my eyes.

Yep, I picture Metropolis looking completely different from Gotham. A city like that autta do the work really well.

There is a number of cities that comes to mind.... so a good mix of them would be good imo. Overall, they must shoot some in NYC/Manhatten more specifically.

Now that you mention Tokyo. You know, I was thinking about New Tokyo in Akira as a possible reference for Metropolis, even though it should be brighter.

I wouldn't want to be in charge of casting extras to make Hong Kong or Tokyo look like an American City if filming on location.

I would recommend more shots of the streets for location suggestions, the skyline will be manipulated anyway in post.

The Detroit Skyline I sorta dig. Never been there though, so I did an image search for street level photos and the only pictures I get make the place look like it's been carpet bombed.

Whatever city they use, I think it needs to be grand in scope. The metropolis we got in S.R. didn't feel that way to me.
I like a posters earlier suggestion about a making mix of several different cities.

Detroit is one of the most polluted cities in the U.S.. They most likely will not shoot there for health and environmental reasons.

Yep. I think Hong Kong and Tokyo should be used as a template.

I was born in Detroit. It's a terrible city. Sure it looks nice from 15 miles away but up close...no way would I put a movie there.

Tokyo and Hong Kong look very impressive. I would love if they were used.

But if WB wants to stay domestic which I feel they might than Pittsburg looks like a good choice too.

Detroit is an awful example for MEtropolis but as Hub City it would be fantastic

plus a shout out to boston; always thought the Zakim Bridge would fit right-in in Metropolis

Tokyo/Hong Kong, but have the street shots filmed somewhere in the USA (Can't say which major cities to film in, since I've only been to 2).
