I'm Convinced That Arcee Will... [Spoilers]

I posted this same thread at TFW2005. Think about it:

The casting call for female motorcycle riders asked for only a day's work on the Bethlehem, PA set:

The only images we've ever seen of the Arcee bike(s) were from the Wal-Mart video, from the Bethlehem set in early June (Bay himself even mentions that they "crashed a bike" in the first shot):

we know that the action scenes filmed in Bethlehem, the only place we've ever actually seen Arcee(s), is the opening action scene of the film:

The article about Will Kenefick, the builder of the Arcee bikes, mentions this:

Being on a movie set carries not only the excitement of watching the film process, but the anxiety of watching carefully babied machines pushed to their limits and, for some, eventually meeting their demise, perhaps in a fiery explosion. So, they film the opening sequence in Bethlehem. Arcee(s) is/are spotted. We find out that they may have crashed a bike (on purpose or by accident, we don't really know), and then Arcee(s) is/are never seen again.

It seems like such a waste. Will Kenefick put a huge amount of work into those bikes, are they really only going to be used in one action scene? If the bikes do combine to form Arcee, why do something so complicated for a character that may bite the dust in the opening sequence? If they did that to solve her height "problem" - why bother, if she might die in the first few minutes of the film?

Any thoughts?

She could just not show up for the rest of the film or only in robot mode therefore the need for the bikes would be minimal. Then again there may be some shots that have taken place in secret locations where she was used.

Agreed. I can think of 10 autobots I'd rather see than her. Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Cliffjumper are just a few that come to mind. Oh well.

Another thing that's weird, if you look at the leaked call sheet, is that sometimes the motorbikes are referred to as "Arcee motorcycles" (plural) and other times just as "Arcee" (singular).

"Arcee motorcycles rip past Ice Cream twins"

vs.

"Arcee & Stinger chase R8" and "R8, Arcee, Stinger, Hummers, Trikes all race past Ice Cream Truck"

Just a theory, but perhaps the crew used "Arcee motorcycles" to refer to all three motorbikes (which in fact could be three different characters) and used "Arcee" to refer to the bike that is actually Arcee. Reading the call sheet again, it does sound like certain scenes only called for one bike...

This is all just another theory to add to my original post in this thread - but perhaps the three bikes are three different characters. Maybe Arcee is the only one who lives through the battle sequence. The Wal-Mart video does show Megan Fox in a biker suit with a helmet in her hands... but she was seen riding on the Aprilia RS50 (http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/2008/06/new-vehicle-spotted.html)... perhaps that scene comes before the Shanghai sequence?

I honestly couldnt care less if Arcee was indeed killed in the first 20 minutes, she is a nothing character to me and I just cant see why they included her, she hardly has the following some of the Autobots left out have.

I absolutely HATE the three bikes combining thing. It's basically three little bots making her, or she will just be three sentient "pieces". I dunno, I just think it's overkill to make her match up better in size, or whatever the hell their reasoning is.
