Tyrese Gibson (Transformers)-Luke Cage

He said recently at the 2009 TFBotcon that Marvel has a proched him multiplye times to play Luke Cage, he said that it was posibly for "The First Avenger: Captian America."

:D I'm just so happy that I could explode!

He also claimed he'd be in Fast & Furious. Let's hope he's as right with this as he was with that, bc I don't want Tyrese near any Marvel film.

X-Men 3 should be elminated from marvel movie cannon, the same way the the new Star Trek film eliminated the entire Star Trek franshise history... in the time it took for a single red globule to undulate.

Michael Biehn would be a kick-ass Cable, which is funny considering Wizard picked him as Cyclops like 15 years ago. It's really too bad they killed off Cyclops in the movies, making any Cable appearance or storyline involving Cyclops and Jean impossible. X-Men 3 should have been James Marsden's movie.It's far from impossible: we never saw Cyclops die, and Cable's mom (in the comics) is a clone of Jean, so y'know, do the math...

In fact, the appearance of Cable would make the perfect excuse to bring Scott and Jean back.

You make a good point. I just wrote Cyclops off as dead. I mean, I actually did enjoy X-Men 3 (I know, I know, flame on), but the thing that really pissed me off was how Wolverine was given the spotlight in what SHOULD have been a great tragic love story between Scott and Jean.

The only one that I could see working is James Woods as Loki. Actually, if they made a Thor movie back in the day then James Woods would be ****ing amazing as Loki I think.

Buza as Volstagg and Elwes as Fandral (especially back then) were good choices as well, IMHO.

But the rest of the choices pretty much suck. They were clearly going by look more than anything else.

Tobey Maguire was 27, I think, when he played high school student Peter Parker. Buffy the Vampire Slayer's cast were in their 20s when they played High school kids. So was Kristy Swanson when she played the original Buffy for the movie. And the cast of That 70s Show were not High School Age by the time they graduated with the exception of Mila Kunis.
Films and TV shows do that a lot, plus they aren't the Runaways either. But still I understand, I thought of the age thing too. The age can even be worked into the story for the movie, although it would change things from the comic, making their world more like the animated young Avengers or Spider-Girl. (The idea being that these are the next generation of heroes and the veterans are much older.)
These, most of them, are the voices I imagined while reading the comic.

You know he's like 50, right?
Yeah, and Downey Jr. is 45.
The stars of the movie would be the Young Avengers, Captain America, Iron Man, and even Jessica Jones would be more like cameos.
The age differences would add to the Young Avengers seeming young, while the veteran Avengers would seem more like adults. But I also think that Captain America, Iron Man, maybe even Jessica Jones, wouldn't have to be in it at all, at at the most a small cameo.

Ppl really need to quit bringing up Tobey McGuire as a high schooler in Spiderman. He looked too old, and even if you think he didn't, he was a high schooler for maybe a full 10 minutes. Not much of a good point.

The Young Avengers are teenagers. I'm sure there are a slew of teen actors who can do the job just as well as the overage actors.

These are just suggestions I made, I am not a professional movie director or casting person, I am not making a Young Avengers movie. I was just posting some fun ideas. I did this in the same style as the Wizard magizine picks. Really based on looks alone, not really. Pretty much age only, maybe some voice too.

Not a terrible cast. Teen heroes are notoriously hard to cast because there is such a short times frame that actors can play a teen before they get too old. Most of the time I don't even bother because often if I pick them now, by the time they would ever get around to making a real movie, my choices would be out of the age range.

I disagree with the ones bolded.

Bullseye is too hyperactively insane a villain for Statham. I think Statham comes across as more cold and calculating. Not Marvel but I could see him as a PERFECT Slade Wilson.

To be honest I really loved Farrell as Bullseye. He had that twitchy, hyperactive insanity down pat.

Urban is actually a pretty good choice for Namor. I have been keen on Luke Goss, but Urban is pretty solid... And I like Jason Isaacs for any hard-edged villain (ala his role as Colonel Tavington in The Patriot).

The hard part of Cage is finding an actor big enough, with the right acting skills. 15-20 years ago, Ving Rhames would own. Foxx and Common are both good, but to be Cage they would need 50 Cent sized build. And no, that is not a suggestion for good ol' Curtis. I'm just saying he's got the right proportions.

Night Raven: Doug Jones (Doug Jones is an amazing actor, when you need some one to portray characters that move and take action of larger than life quality like say Silver Surfer, this is man for the job. Night Raven might not be that well known but I've recently found out about him from a friend of mine in the UK, and I believe this character could kick major @$$ in the states. Judging from this photo of him, I say Doug Jones was born for this role. Now I know what might come to ming, ah the watchmen dude. Well be that as it may this character is more of a trowback to characters like the shadow or the spider. Either way I believe Mr. Jones can do this part with ease. I can imagine Doug rolling and sliding around raking in headshot after headshot).

Michael Vartan and Emily Blunt for Cylcops and Jean Grey.Fine choices individually but there's quite a bit of age difference between them. Granted, there was about ten years between Famke Janssen and James Marsden as well, but somehow that worked better. Cyclops is supposed to be this intoverted, geeky kid who falls for Jean. If Jean happens to be a sexy older woman, fine. The story still works, since Jean was always the more emotionally mature of the two. But Cyclops as a middle-aged man obsessing over much younger Jean? That would be messed up even by Cyke's standards.

Alot of people get a villian vibe from him. I'm sure he can play a hero, but he's mostly known and pretty damn good at playing manic, obsessive, & psychotic characters. Dr. Strange? He's Strange all right butnot in the good way. I can see him as Daimon Hellstrom.

Jaime Madrox/Multiple Man: Gabriel Macht. (I know, oh god The Spirit, but look every actor gets a few bad movies in their lifetime, but just because the movie was bad doesn't mean that the person was nessecarily bad in it. For what it was, Macht & Jackson were pretty much the only good ones in Spirit. But that said everybody deserves a second chance, because let's face it; if that isn't true alot of people shouldn't be getting work after their time on a bad movie, let alone a bad comic book movie).

I like that one but I would want someone in their late 40's to early 50's.

I would like Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Only 43. Would be okay.

I would someone like Kurt Russell but he is short and Mickey Rourke but he is Whiplash. Since Cable is 6 foot 8 I would prefer someone taller.

I prefer an older tough guy for the role. Aaron Eckhart would be sweet too.

Nice try but he lists as 6'8 on Marvel's website and always looked 6'4 or taller to me so whatevs.

However, I'm willing to make an exception to get someone qualified to play the character.

Ray Park was cast a long time ago in a proposed Iron Fist movie which fell through once it became clear he couldn't act, at least not well enough to carry a movie.

Has Rutger Hauer been suggested for Magneto. I think he'd be perfect if Ian McKellan was done with the role. Ian's performance was phenomenal but his look...not so much. Rutger is a good actor, great as villains, and though aged so was McKellan. Big, strong good old actor.

I actually am a big Bladerunner fan and always liked Rutger as Magneto when me and my friends used to pitch our potential James Cameron cast for X-Men. We really liked the cast we had but that was way back then. I still would love to see Rutger suit up.

Haha, I always saw Bruce Willis as Earth X Captain America.

Its also funny they put Ryan Reynolds as Earth X Daredevil since that version was basically Deadpool.

LMAO, funny because its true. But at least the Ultimatum Wave took care of most of that. But there were a few good things in the Ultimate U (The early Spidey, X-men, & Ultimates 1 & 2). Then the not so good (Zombies, Ultimates 3. etc.).
