Yep, Laurence Fishburne did the voice, even though the director and some of the studio execs loved Doug's voice - it's called stunt casting, having a celeb voice because the studio thinks it puts bums on seats. Still, Mr Fishburne did a great job, even though it wasn't needed.

Mo-cap is a suit with markers worn by the actor and the entire character created digitally from scratch. The Surfer wasn't done that way.

The Surfer was created using a beautiful prosthetic design by Jose Fernandez and made by Oscar-nominated FX shop Spectral Motion. It took about 2 1/2 hours to put Doug into the suit, so he was the Surfer when he went on set. Then WETA Digital created a digital silver sheen to coat the suit. When the Surfer was 'powered down' you see the 'tarnished' version of the suit, with only a little CG for the eyes and to cover the suit joins. No mo-cap involved.

That being said, there were one or two scenes where the Surfer was entirely digital, much like Spidey, but everywhere else you see Dougie in a prosthetic suit with a ditigal tweak. Of course there was green-screen work in the film for all of the characters, but that doesn't have anything to do with mo-cap.

If Charlie Hunnam was American I would say he could definitely be Captain America, but they want to cast an american, so I guess they won't hire him. Sorry about that. I'm glad you like it though, Jensen Ackles as Venom is an awesome idea. I also got tired of seeing Knepper as Carnage. He's a good actor, but I just wanted to see him as someone else.

@Sabetootnth: Thank you, it was difficult to cast for Peter without looking at Mcgregor, but I think he should be able to work on the accent. I think he worked on it a bit in his new film "The Ghost Writer", which was a good film by the way. I'll be posting the crazy 8s soon.

@Batboy99: Some of those wizard casts are good, some not so much. I really do like Andy Serkis as the Lizard. Keep the same actor as Connors, but have Serkis get in the make-up.
That's extreamly pointless. Why would they waste money on hiring an actor to be in full makeup when 1)they can have one to play both parts or 2)hire a stunt guy to do that :huh:

i actually have to agree there, if they go the makeup route for Lizard, why not et the Connors actor to do it, though serkis does do good mocap work, so theres some thinking behind having serkis do Lizard and anotehr actor as Lizard, it would help differentiate between the two characters

Well, if they want a good performance from the creature and not some generic cgi thing they could do it. Like how Doug Jones played the Surfer, but Fishburne did the voice. As good of an actor Dylan Baker is, I can't see him in a reptile make-up suit going "roar". Serkis seems to be able to pull it off, his actions as Gollum were great. I don't think Baker could pull off the mo-cap/practical suit action. But then again, I could be wrong. He might be able to pull it off.

Doug Jones and Serkis are two totally different situations. Jones is known as the guy under makeup, thats what made him known. And voice work is also different.

I can see them actually putting Swordsman in a movie and maybe even using Dalton, thats if Hawkeye becames a major part of the Avengers or gets his own movie.
Dalton, playing the Swordsman is a master at combat and weapons, especially swords, who mentored and was like a father to Clint Barton during his youth. He trained Clint to be the fighter he is now, with Captain America taking his combat skills even further and being the fatherly figure Hawkeye should have gotten.
When Swordsman returns into Clint's life he is older but still skilled.
So Dalton's age wouldn't be a factor.
Clint is about 30 something, and Swordsman is in his late 50s. Could work.
Even if they have Hawkeye being a SHIELD agent, the Swordsman could be an ex-SHEILD agent who was discharged and is now a mercinary for hire or something.

Hunnam is indeed a great choice. Eddie Dean, Gosling still is one of my favorite choices for Iron Fist. I have to say I think both Hunnam and Gosling are the top choices for me. Gosling has been working out for the past few months and looks in great shape.

I feel like lots of his problems with the Batman movies came from the studios wanting to make sure they were Happy Meal-friendly. I am sure lots of blame can be put on his shoulders, but not all.

This is true... Schumacher admits Batman and Robin was a disappointment, but he said that he had orders from Warner to make a 'toy movie', that they could make the scenes into toys. He was just doing his job at making studio happy so he could keep his job.

Schumacher took so much backlash and Warner Brothers didn't take any heat for the 1997 disaster Batman and Robin. It was mostly Warner's fault. Schumacher commentary on special edition is really REALLY interesting.
